Steve’s offer was actually amazing! If he generates enough revenue to give back 160k by receiving 1 dollar per unit, his business is a fucking success, annnnnnd his equity will drop to 5%! That’s a fucking good deal!
@baylichelsea1041
@baylichelsea1041 3 года назад
RIGHT?! It’s essentially saying “I’m gonna give you 80k for 10% and THEN LET YOU BUY BACK A BIG CHUNK OF MY EQUITY VERY AFFORDABLY WITH ME STILL ON BOARD. Can’t believe he went with Glenn, it was robbery.
@MrZachgonz

It isn’t. He stated they made $250k profit one year even if they doubled profits the following year, by paying by $160k it would eat up a sizable chunk of profit.
@commanderkeen3787
@commanderkeen3787 3 года назад
And then with 5% equity Steve will turn his focus away from the business to focus on other more profitable investments, and the business will ultimately fail. A bigger equity stake gives the investor greater incentive to drive the business further. 5% of let's say a million dollar company isn't worth Steve's time in the end. 40% definitely is worth Glen's time, he will put more hours and phone calls into it, and get a cool 400k return per year or more for his trouble
@TriMarko
@TriMarko 3 года назад
@@commanderkeen3787 That's exactly it, Steve's offer didn't come with any useful contacts and he's not in business in that area. So its purely for the money. Whereas Glen has the contacts and can get the product out there. 40% is a big hit but at the end of the day it was probably the best for the business

I can't believe that Glen really told him that he'll get a similar product(indirectly telling him that he'll put him out of business) and then he makes him accept the deal forcefully at 40% which according to me was a bit too much. Disappointed that Glen could do that.
@Ulalayumyum
@Ulalayumyum 4 года назад
You have a point. But for glen to say that to his face and asking a 40% was just brutal. Glen could have just offered and didn't say anything about copying his idea.
@flashdaz05
@flashdaz05 4 года назад
James Esa brutal? I think glen keeping his mouth shut, stealing the idea behind his back, then inadvertently killing the original business is MORE brutal. If anything, it was just a bit of tough-love. Yes he strong armed him into giving over 40%, but he’s also strong arming him into a likely very profitable future. It’s a win-win. If glen pussy footed around to be the nice guy, the contestant very well might’ve taken the other deal, and then they’d both be losers.

40%?? Damn Glen. The only reason he got that was Glen all but saying “if you don’t take this deal I’m going to copy it and your business will be destroyed”.

Anyone else wondering how this is different than a 10-12 inch 5/8th's lag bolt. I mean this isn't a new invention, you can go to Home Depot and just buy lag bolts.

Half the fun of camping is bashing in the pegs with a mallot!! now you need to remember to charge and bring a drill.... not very camping... handy... but not camping.

Who the heck brings a drill to camping. Small market at best and certainly not at $10+ per peg.

Who takes a drill camping? Heck I don’t even take pegs unless I know I won’t be able to free stand the tent for some reason.

"I really like Steve..." And what's that got to do with anything? I know this was only a cut of an entire conversation but that's just the wrong thing to say in any context. It's a business deal, with a clear headed snap decision making in very short time span and when your husband needed a useful feedback you brought subjective input instead of strategic level headedness? Your feelings don't matter girl.
