I've always loved this song but this is the first time I've seen the video and man, it is powerful. I'm a 55 yr old man and I just burst out in tears during the scene of the homeless man eating from the garbage can. This happens way to often and there is no good reason why with the wealth and abundance we have in North America. So sad and so, so wrong. Btw if anyone is interested this video was written and directed by Tim Blake Nelson, the short silly con who went on the lam with Clooney in the Oh Brother film. What a talented guy. Kudos.

I'm so glad Steve Earle left Nashville and Re-Located to NYC. Nashville is the country music capital of the USA and if country music is about telling the truth, they forgot how to do that. Kudos to you Steve for not being afraid to stand up and tell the truth!

On a way to the Steve Earle concert last night we saw a homeless girl, we were at the lights I opened the window, the lights changed, she came from her sitting position to the car window and thanked us for the money, then we went onto the concert and our reward was seeing Steve Earle singing Invisible.

Being invisible isn't just about the need for government programs, shelter, and adequate mental health care. It's also about how we allow a person to be invisible. Let's recognize we make people invisible when we treat them as if they're not there. We don't need a program to be a friend or neighbor. We don't need programs to be in relationship - mutual - not just us serving and them receiving - that continues the separation. And, we need the means and infrastructure to help.

I don't usually listen to Indie Artist Videos on here but this one was to good to pass up. I rank this one as one of the best Indie Artist Video Ive seen on here. Very emotional and had a good impact on what life is like for those invisible Americans that people keep passing by and never seeing.

Steve Earle is the best songwriter I have ever heard. I like this new song. I wish you wellness and happiness, Steve. I have no idea what to do personally about life and all it's turns and burn marks, however I find alot of inner strenght and hope, somewhow , as I listen to Steve. I enjoy all of his songs. He makes great records too. I wish you great success. I'm a real fan. No one inspires other songwroters as much as Steve and Dylan, True Art, True songs, truth man. yeah.

I hate this song but love it to tears even more it really touches my heart and give it a squeeze I wish that one day I will be able to help all those people that don't have roofs over their heads. Excellent video, directed by Tim Blake Nelson, who wrote and directed the film, Leaves Of Grass. Steve's part in that film was written specifically for him by Nelson.

I pretty much lean towards anarcho-capitalism, libertarianism, Ayn Rand's objectivism, and atheism, yet I find Steve Earle's music exhilarating. This latest video really hits home as Steve now lives in Greenwich Village where I spent some time in the 1960s. He captures a certain aspect of NYC rarely seen.

to quote Metallica... this song is Sad but True..... Pretending these people aren't there doesn't make them go away or change their unfortunate circumstances, it's an unfortunate reality. We don't know their life stories and how they came to be in these tragic situations. Lack of humanity makes me sad.

Most people do acts of charity with no recognition whatsoever. Sure, there are shallow celebrities who want the photo op, but even then it may encourage others to act. In any case, this is a video for a thoughtful song that raises awareness not a photo op.

I do think that mental illness and addiction are the root of this issue. Cuts in mental health spending tossed millions on the streets. New York City will spend at least 800 million on shelters this year. I think the the resources are there for people who have the ability to use them. Corporate rights should be dictated by the people but that is a fight we will never full win. A back a forth scrimmage between greed and compassion. The real fight is for healthcare.

i visit down town atl all the time..it sickness me to hear someone tell some one to get a job...i always carry my spare change and will give it out...if a guy or gal is on the streets for anytime..they cant just go and get a job...no one will hire them....if you are ever in the atl go behind the marta station there are like 50 or more homeless people back there...i talked to one of them...he had a brain operation and he sang for me and i gave him some money ..

I usually recommend I Feel Alright and El Corazon, though if you are more into roots music, start with Train A Comin and The Mountain which are more folk and bluegrass, respectively.
