Lots of experience and wisdom in that interview. He’s very resilient and has stayed relevant for 45 years. No one can take that away from him in any lawsuit.

Good interviewer. Luke tends to ramble a little, but those moments are very interesting and revealing. Jeremy is not so worried about keeping the interview under control. He’s along for the ride and is framing this to get the most out of the opportunity.

Luke’s guitar sound is the reason that I turned on to Toto. We are of similar ages, and Luke has provided much of the background music to my life. I simply would not be a Toto fan if Luke wasn’t there. God bless you Mr Lukather! Keep it coming!

One of the best interviewers of Luke I’ve heard in a long while. Great job!

I had a great experience with recording a solo that Steve played on a track that I produced way back in the 80's. Steve came into the studio and in the first take of the solo, he nailed it, I thought he could maybe do it better. He said he felt comfortable with what he had played but graciously agreed to do another few solo takes. Stupid me, ! Because after listening through the subsequent takes, I had to sheepishly agree that his first solo was indeed the best as he said. I learned alot from him based off that on that session. When recording solos, in many cases you have to be confident enough of that first track if you as a player think it was creative, spontaneous and well executed then stand your ground, because that first take will usually be the take that best captures the creative energy for being the most appropriate for the song. Bottom line, is trust the players initial judgement of his own performance, because... he's usually right ! On another note, I hate the way Steve and other members of Toto were treated in the lawsuit they lost. Lets face it, the music industry is as fucked up and as crooked as government/politicians. Anyway, I've always loved Steves playing and awesome musicianship and also for just being an all around good guy and I wish him the best in his continuing stellar career.

Cool interview! My two biggest guitar hero’s EVER, Eddie Van Halen and Steve Lukather. I SO wish we still had Ed here but thank God we still have Luke around. Can’t wait until these useless and non effective quarantining healthy people crap is over so I can see Luke play live again. I would travel anywhere to see him live.

Luke is quite a character. Met him just before he stopped drinking in Ontario, Canada after a show and he was nice as cud be. Bought me a couple drinks and talked about a few Toto albums. Shame about the lawsuit, too many of these types of stories. Livestream was great, the new additions were above my expectations for sure. I think they did a great job of selling future shows.

Love Toto and Luke! It felt so great to discover Toto in my freshman year of college. When I bought Toto IV, my roommate and I left side 1, which is fantastic, on the turntable so long that, when I heard Africa, I didn't know it was on side 2. LOL

Luke should be able to talk about the lawsuit and put to rest why shit happened the way they did. But I understand his reason not to dwell on it. Jeff's widow and her Tupperware husband posted a very slanderous letter accusing Luke of shit and he deserves to defend himself. I am glad though that Luke, Joseph and David are still friends and David is doing good health wise. Can't wait for Saturdays live stream.

After watching a few of Luke's interviews about the tour that ended in 2019 and the lawsuits Toto lost, there's a question I have. I'm not sure if Luke would answer it. But here it is: Did the Porcaro family turn on Luke and on Toto as a whole? It was Jeff's wife who was behind the lawsuit. It was Steve who became a pain in the patooty during the last leg of the tour. Luke says he hasn't talked with Steve in over a year. Does one thing lead to another?

Would really love to know which two guys didn't get on during the last tour...and which one was moaning that he didn't want to tour anymore. Those little things are what we tune in for...any answer on that one folks.

Hey Jeremy, how did you get Def Leppard to come forward in time from 1987 to do the jingle at the end? I have tried so many times to build up and layer samples that replicates the Hysteria drum sound, but have never quite got it and have just decided to stop trying. Impressive stuff if you've managed it yourself (or got someone to do it for you!)

He is my second influence as a whole musician behind Frampton, only in terms of time. Steve Lukather sealed my fate as a guitar player/singer on their first tour. At 9 years old, first concert Peter Frampton, great. Second concert, Toto a few months later on the first record. 1977/78 Holy S@#t Mom dad i want a guitar. Thanks for all the great music and inspiration over the last 40 years!!!!!!

I always thought Luke was the opposite of the "party/drinking/drug-taking rock star" that he appears to be in this interview. His singing voice and his songs are so "not that" to me. I still love the guy, though, and his music. Great all around musician.
