It's an easy answer it would have to be Steve Perry. The front man for Journey from 1977 to 1987 Rock and Roll hall of fame artist Steve Perry. This is the first story from Forrest Howie McDonald's Video Book. Steve was the 75th most influential rock singer of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine. He recorded 9 albums with the rock band Journey and was on top of the world from 1977-88. This is the story of our friendship and chance meeting that led to recording two beautiful songs in April of 1975. Steve Perry and I were in the prime of our lives. Since I was asked about 'Any Way You Want It' never did I say I wrote the Journey Version only that we rehearsed 3 songs and prior to recording Steve said let's not do 'Any Way You Want It' and I said fine.
