I love this! This is how a sketchbook should look. This book is crammed with ideas, practice, techniques at all levels of development. Some stuff is very rough, other stuff is very finished and rendered. Such a talented guy who is willing to put in the work.
Steve Rude has been one of my favourite artists so this is fascinating to know that he operates as many artists do by doing lots of random sketches and doodles. I'm going to keep mine in volumes and carry on practicing. Thank you for sharing this. It's inspiring me to continue at my own pace.
I wish I could have a couple of his sketch books I can see by this if would blow and expand my art mind and help me alot being his student would be awesomee
I still have some rare posters I bought from Steve Rude off a eBay back in early 2001. They include a rare limited edition Nexus Poster, a rare limited edition Badger poster, and one of my favorites a ultra rare limited edition poster of Whisper. all of them signed by Steve rude himself. Needless to say, I cherish these things.
Steve is one of the MOST TALENTED artists out there. Comics or otherwise. DC Comics recently turned down his services. It's why the comic industry is so fucked up these days.
