The way she says “I’ll have someone pick me up, who would you like me to call?” is very indicative of someone who’s dealt with this behavior before and has learned how to survive it. Even when she gets what she needs, she has to compromise something or give up some kind of control in order to get it. She’s letting him have control of who picks her up because him having any amount of control is probably the only thing that’s ever ended the conflict. I’ve been through abuse my entire life and seeing how she reacts to him is so sad. I hope she’s healing

Hearing from my grandparents about how my pregnant grandma was almost denied access to the hospital to give birth because she didn't have her dad there to check her in, until they saw their marriage certificate and my grandpa could act on her behalf. 60 years ago we weren't treated like people and the push to go back to that is truly terrifying

That repeated "watch it" and her holding back tears with "I love you"s trying to get distance between them just...it makes my stomach do flips. This is the response of someone who has been horribly abused mentally and physically. Like I feel it in my gut because this is how *I* handled trying not to get hit by my abuser. I hear so much of myself and it makes me want to cry for her. I hope she's got nothing but better and happier days ahead.

Been there, done that, and unfortunately recognize the emotional and mental abuse. I seriously worry that it became physical at points, bc it rarely stops with one form of abuse. I’m sickened. I cannot imagine being pregnant without a supportive partner, and I haven't even had a bad pregnancy so far. The thought of adding abuse, mental, physical, whatever, is so heartbreaking. And then having to raise them alone or with some stranger nanny or something and finding out your "partner" is leaving you and cutting you off, after forcing you to not have your own money is just, nope. I'm glad she has family that has her back.

I watched Steven crowder years ago, my husband still watched him up until this. We’re pretty conservative (him more than me) and he would never in a million years talk to me like that. I’m just barely 12 weeks pregnant with our first, and he wants to work overtime right now so I don’t have to work so much while dealing with morning sickness. I’m not even showing yet. I can’t imagine making excuses for crowder at this point. “There’s two sides to every story”, “this is taken out of context”, okay just convince yourself he happens to only have this attitude and persona sometimes. And I’m sure most days he’s such a family guy. I bet he never changed one diaper for those babies and rarely even held them because that’s not his job🙄

As someone who divorced at my son's young age of 4, kids grow up and find out. I absolutely refused to speak ill of my ex, or ever tell my son why we divorced. He is now grown with his own children and he found out from other people in his large circle of family/friends thru his dad n myself. His dad showed his true colors and pushed his son away all on his own.

As someone who was in an abusive relationship, sometimes you have to have the patience of a god, so that the person doesn’t get even angrier. Should hate to see how Steven reacted if she broke down, yelled, etc.

Ugh I’m so sad and scared that they are gonna get rid of no fault divorce 😩. You can’t always prove cheating or abuse, so frustrating. Men always complain women are the ones who initiate divorces…..I always hear the comeback “have you met men?”and think that’s the best. Maybe if more men weren’t so shitty this wouldn’t be the case.

I wasn't expecting this to make me tear up like it did. Wow. I'm going through this off and on with my current partner and it's really hard on me. He says he loves me but then turns around and treats me like I am below him. When I gently try to communicate my boundaries and that he is crossing them, he takes it as a personal attack. I don't want to give up on our relationship as it's been 7 years but I'm at the point where he is driving me mad. If any of you are currently experiencing this, this is your sign. Save yourself. I was a long time viewer of Crowder for years. I really stopped around the time of the DW drama, but this made me lose all respect for him. Especially the way he handled the aftermath of the situation.

7 minutes in, I fell out of the Steven Crowder loop awhile ago, and I thank you for covering this on your channel. He keeps mentioning “physical” safety, I think feels genuinely concern for his twins’ safety because he cannot fathom them being raised in split custody or single mother household, and simultaneously he is attacking his wife’s character by subtly implying she is abusive or neglectful and unfit to parent. It makes sense with his current public history of control.

'Wifely things' generally is code for sex. Which would make sense for why he is throwing a fit. His saying he will go get the groceries is his way of punishing her; take away her only outlet to leave the house, and you have the control.

I have a suspicion that what Stephen means when he says "I want to protect my children" is "I don't want my children taken away from me." The reason he keeps emphasizing how the divorce is not his children's fault is because he's afraid of losing custody and visitation. Basically "it's not the children's fault, so don't deprive them of their father." Which is ironic, considering how hands-off he's been, but he probably just wants to retain influence and control over them since they're his. He is trying to use them for emotional manipulation, and I wouldn't be surprised if he sees any sort of custody negotiation as his wife "bringing the children into the divorce," even though that's something EVERY divorcing couple with children needs to work out.

I work in mental health and obviously can't diagnose him in a professional capacity. What I can say is that his “vibe” / tone of voice is concerning as he seems to psychologically have “the power”.

I am a 48 year old woman who is very very happily NEVER married, because honestly I have never met anyone who meets the criteria that I would expect. Because I am aging and overweight, and not at all willing to settle, I have chosen to not be married and would very much encourage more women to explore this option. I am way happier than most of the married women I know.

My hubs also refused to let me do litter, he got a new closed type litter box so the dust would be less as well. He flew into a rage at my managers when 1 of them told me i wasnt pregnant enough to be experiencing morning sickness when he would see me throw up all day every day it wasnt until a customer seen me run to a trash can that i was allowed to leave but not after being told hold it in until your off the floor and can hide to get sick,as well as when i brought up the terror of using block cleaner(industrial strength bleach for butchers blocks to clean blood and meat juice) in the meat and seafood department it even said on the bottle to limit exposure if you have asthma, respiratory issues,and if pregnant so when they told me well someone has to do it 🤷🏻‍♀️ he came up 2 the store and told the manger roll your damn dress shirt up and do it yourself bc she will not be putting our daughter in danger anymore for a min wage job. Hell they even tried to shame me for showing up with a dr note that said my bp from just talking about (big chain grocery) while getting bp cuffed put me at pre eclampsia/ stroke level. I almost had an emergency cesarean just bc the nurse asked how work was going 😮😂 all that to say he was supportive as hell through pregnancy, and during labor he was a dream. 27hrs ending in a cesarean and he sent my mom a text she saved up until she died saying he was absolutely in awe of the strength he was watching and how it just strengthened his love for me.

But as I got through a few of his videos, I noticed that he never gave anyone a chance to speak. Claiming that one guy was using paragraphs as his opposition and yet the guy couldn't get a full sentence out without being interrupted. I went to the comments section and his fans were all saying that the other guy was using paragraphs and I told them that he didn't even get a full sentence out. Crowder took control of the narrative by being overwhelming and speaking in paragraphs himself. Most of the right-wing, conservative republican side use projection to deflect their own insecurities and they cannot seem to stop lying. They don't want freedom of choice, they want power to control. When disscussing Roe v Wade, I have said that I am pro life. However, I am also pro choice. Some expect you to only have one perspective, but there are many. I also learned how very disturbed Crowder's sense of culture is. He hates minorities. He hates females. Why, exactly, does a family with a bit less money than God, have only one car? My guess is that they have many cars and adorable Steven does not want his wife to have any of them. She should not be driving while eight months pregnant and Steven should be accompanying her to do the groceries, but at the very least he should not be forcing her through his control of the money.

He's literally my abusive ex if my ex had money. I'm absolutely triggered. That poor woman. Those poor children.

By that point I had 10 1/2 years of credit history. And by the way, as a kid whose fault it was that my parents did NOT divorce, I honestly would rather Crowder keep saying publicly it's not their fault. Hopefully he does say the same thing privately as well.

I had at least 1k a month in disposable income before I got into a relationship. Sometimes, it bums me out to not have that money anymore, but I adore my partner and his daughter. And they are worth so much more than any material items I could buy. And they make me happier than any temporary satisfaction I could get from a store. He seems to not be ready or even have the desire to make the sacrifices that a relationship requires. But instead of being introspectively aware of that, he is projecting his internal struggle onto his partner to deflect having to fully address those feelings. I hope he gets help because this is going to need a lot of work to change. I also hope that she finds peace for herself and her kids. She did the right thing.

I partially agree with Crowder that divorce can be rough on children. But when my parents were divorced it was good for me and my sister, and when I was divorced my kids became infinitely happier overnight (they chose to live with me). Sometimes a home with a miserable couple spread that misery to their kids, whether then know it or not. In those cases, kids are better off to see the misery end for everybody (by divorce, not some other way to misinterpret that). The nutcases like Crowder get it partially right but then stop there and base their entire point on the partial data rather than learning and understanding the full data.

You know what's funny? Crowder's ex-wife was the top earner in Crowder's marriage. I don't know if that changed when Crowder gained more following, but in older podcasts and shows, he used to say his wife earned more than he did.

This is a toxic relationship but there is two sides to every story. I understand his perspective about the state "allowing" the divorce. I have an issue with the amount of women who jump into a marriage with a man, bring children and quickly divorce, where the man gets the screws taken to him. In a marriage with children and no history of DV a couple should atleast be required to have some sort of couples therapy/counseling prior to approval of the divorce. Too many women do use marriage and children as a means to secure financial security. A lot of women expect men to do their "husband" role without themselves doing their wife role and then play victim when the husband's call these women out on it. I would never tell my husband "I'll be back when I'm back" while I'm pregnant with his two children, it is very childish, he has every right to know when, where and who you are with carrying such precious cargo and you would want him to know for your safety. The fact she didnt dispute him being unable to call friends see family ect...may be a double standard she has for him. The amount of times she brought up abuse knowing a camera was there could've been to trap him to to look like a bad guy. Women have to be honest that they can be more calculated and vindictive then men, I unfortunately witness it all too often and can only pray for them to self reflect. I can't say who's at fault, there was more leading up to this and neither should be framed in a negative light but moving forward they need to think of the children and they both need to get themselves into therapy, much of society does. People love to throw their biased opinions around without facts and it destroys lives.

from personal experience when someone keeps talking about physical safety this much, it might mean that if something comes out that i was physically abusive towards my wife or kids, do not believe it because look at me. i hold physical safety at a high standard publicly.
