What makes you say he's a decent blues guitarist? If you're judging by the content of this video, I'd note that it's clearly very highly overdubbed. None of the audio here is Steven's actual onstage playing.

How has it become that having a negative review or opinion of anything now makes one a “hater”? I think he is very intermediate at best in musical terms. However, it is his gross ego and absurd self image that magnetizes scorn and derision. Regardless of his guitar skill, I as a musician, feel badly for all his beautiful guitars and wish they were in the hands of real players. I wish all those dead blues men had been together on an album of a then unknown who become the next great blues-man after they had died.

Usually people who thumb pick don’t grab the the bottom of the guitar with the rest of their hand

blues is commonly played with thumb like that, you then use the fingers to play the other strings being able to strum and pick one going up i'm not really getting why you feel different ways of picking or holding the guitar are superiour, different styles require this

@@DarkShroom Except he's only using his thumb and only down picking. Very limited picking ability. Fingerpicking usually implies using the thumb and at least two other fingers.
