First of all, I watch a lot of reaction videos. But, now I’m watching yours. This is my new joint. You two are the most beautiful couple I have seen in a very long time. I mean it. Steven Wilson is my favorite artist. This album and this song are among the most powerful and evocative he has ever written. I strongly recommend you see his performances live because if you think that was a powerful emotional experience, try sitting in a audience silently experiencing that song with extraordinary immersive visuals all around you. The entire crowd weeps and it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced. This song hit me like it did you both when I saw the live performance just 3 months after my own wife’s death (we were together 24 years). I’m a white man and she was an African American woman. There’s so much about watching this reaction that touched me. I’m actually losing it a bit right now as i type this. I encourage you to explore Steven Wilson’s catalog further as it just gets better and better. If you liked that song and video, I recommend Drive Home or The Raven That Refused to Sing from the album of the same name. Either of those will tear your heart out. Fun fact: The album that this track comes from is a concept record. It is loosely inspired by the true story of the strange and tragic death of Joyce Carol Vincent. Joyce was a British woman in her mid-30s who sadly died in her apartment back in 2003. What makes her death notable is that her remains were not discovered until _2006._ Three whole years passed without anyone noticing that Joyce wasn't around anymore. None of her friends, family, or coworkers ever took the time out to check and see if she was alright. Steven Wilson has long been one of my favorite musical artists. I've been a big fan since 2001. I have a recommendation for you: it's one of Steven's most well known and emotionally moving songs. It's called _The Raven That Refused to Sing._ If you ever end up doing a live reaction to it, then I feel pretty confident that I'll be crying along to it with you!

For me, this is one of the rare instances where the music video enhances the song, and does so brilliantly. In so many cases the music video is just on the way of actually focusing on the music. This is a beautifully painted story that anyone can relate to, anyone willing to go there anyway, which isn't always easy. Also gotta give it up for Ninet and how well her voice fits Steven's music. Hope you guys get around to Porcupine Tree at some point, which is his previous band.

Steven Wilson is another artist who is highly regarded as one of the best musicians of our time. Please check out The Raven That Refused to Sing, I can't begin to describe how beautiful yet tragic that song is.

I really hate when people says "why u like to listen sad music? Are u depresed?" and no, hell no. Listen to melancolic music let me speak to myself and think about things that you never'll do with "fun" music. I saw Steven Wilson live in Chile, about 2 years ago, and I cried almost the half concert. He is a musician god. (I'm sorry for my english, isn't my Mother language)

I lost both parents this year to cancer. 4 months apart. After dad passed away, mom went on the decline a month later. I showed her this video/song. Changed the premise and grief of the story and it was lifted from her. Great song! Love Steven Wilson and all of his projects. 🤘

That moved me so much! I weeped irrepressibly for about half an hour. I could relate to this song a lot. I've been to places like those (even not for the same reasons) holding on the day routine to keep on moving to avoid crumbling. And sometimes I would scream where no-one would hear me cry to kind of release some of the pain, even if the physical pain cannot be silenced. That was a beautiful song. I just need to say what a beautiful reaction you both had. I believe Steven himself would appreciate how moved you both were. I was honored to see him live at the Wiltern in Los Angeles in 2015 and this song was played. He ended with the equally brilliant The Raven That Refused To Sing and I can tell you that I really don't remember leaving the theater. His music has changed my life, allowed me to see a different perspective of life than I had been viewing. He said during the show that he "hated" happy music, preferred the melancholy and he's is truly the master of that art form. Genius comes in may guises, and many will not recognize it when they meet it. You obviously do. Thank you for your honesty, your integrity and your passion. I have subscribed.

I've come back to this reaction so many times since it was released. I love it so much, for so many reasons. But honestly, my favorite part is when Wolf gently removes Sistah's ear buds after the song is done. "It's ok baby. It's ok." That simple action and those simple words convey such pure love and acceptance. It's quite possibly one of the most tender and romantic gestures I've ever witnessed. It's just so, so beautiful.

Ive heard this song 100's of times and it always makes me tear up...

I've lost count of how many times I have heard this song and seen this video and without fail it moves me every time. It's an outstandingly good song about the pain of loss and how to try and survive. Your reactions say everything about how much this song can move you.

Those last two lines are, to me, about the contradiction inherent to grief - you have to move on, yet you should not forget. You let go, but you don’t let go.

The true power of music.

I went many years bottling up emotions due to peer pressure and people judging any time I show an ounce of emotion. When I saw this music video, I finally let it out and just cried. It stirred up emotions that really needed to come out. It was the first time I truly cried in years. It feels good to finally let it out.

He introduced Jess Copes work in animation over several songs and always look forward to another video with them working together. There is nobody writing and performing music today that is better than Steven Wilson. A true artist who labors over both the music and the lyrics. It's not all "prog" either - he is incredibly diverse. Explore his catalog, but if you want to listen to a couple more sad, but beautiful songs, try The Raven that Refused to Sign, Postcard, or my favorite of his less "prog" songs, Lazerus (a Porcupine Tree song).

Jess Cope's work on this video is incredible. The song by itself is deeply moving, but combined with the video it becomes a masterpiece.

Best reaction to this song I've seen. I get waterworks going as well, not because of things that have passed but because of things that I know will pass.

SW is the king of melancholy and he has many, many songs that will bring out your emotions. His solo stuff has a tendency to be darker but there's plenty of PT songs that are very depressing. Weird that it can make you feel so good. It's hard to say where to start if you're interested in exploring more of his catalog, my favorite of his solo work is Grace for Drowning. On any album, it's not only the lyrics and subject matter, Steven also surrounds himself with some of the best musicians of our time, they know how to match the moods of the songs.

You guys should also check out the videos for "The Raven Who Refused To Sing" and "Drive Home" by Steve Wilson, and videos by the same animator.

Possibly one of the most powerful and emotionally moving songs written. In isolation it’s a magnificent song, but when you see the video, it becomes an emotional masterpiece. My 7 year old daughter hugged me tighter as we watched the video and said, “Don’t ever die Daddy”.
