Lot of great guitar players...........but nobody......and I mean nobody, played with more feelin, heart, and more soul than Stevie Ray Vaughan!! R.I.P. Stevie, Gone, but not forgotten!
Very few times in your life , you can remeber where you were on a certain day. I was offshore, and had come to the dock, called my friend, and he said, Did u here about Stevie/ he died this morning in a helicopter crash. I went back to the boat, played his music and wept. Man, i saw him twice, he was the best blues man ever. R.I.P Stevie, we Love u..and...we sure miss you..
Yes Brother Pranjal True Dat! lol The BEST, I had the pleasure of working with Double Trouble in Austin a few years ago good players, Tommy Shannon and his Wife Kumi and the Best too
@@danielmurray3897 I adore both, rory has that traditional gypsy soul and feel ( also considering his folk and irish music background) , also stevie, stevie is a texan, also considering his influences and background, stevie for me is like more like lyrical and cinematic if you know what I mean, he the pinnacle of blues in the sense that he blended all of the different blues styles and sounds, texas blues chicago blues you just name it, in a very special way, still I worship both, still hate comparisons, just tryna speaking ma mind though
This has to be one of , if not the best blues performances of all time. There are plenty of great blues players but this performance is second to none. What heart and soul. Stevie took a little style from all of the greats and developed the most original soulful style of all. He has to be smiling down on us all. God bless SRV and long live his legacy. Everyone keep him in your heart........ R.I.P.SRV.
Hearing Stevie play is amazing. But watching him play takes it to another level. That move at 7:57 has to be one of the smoothest in the history of rock/blues.
I was driving back home late one night, nothing but almost empty hwy in front of me and a big moon hangin' up above. I had a lot on my mind, then this came on. :)
Do ya remember what radio station it was on? Great song from Larry Davis & SRV RIP Stevie I'll be coming to see you some point next year to give ya flowers. We all miss you including Jimmie.
I feel spiritually connected to his playing, no other musician can take me out of this world like SRV can. I can listen to almost anything but I always come back to Stevie and it's like I'm listening for the first time again even though I've listened to every live gig of his a billion times. I've been listening to rock and metal my entire life and never really had any interest in playing but the first time I heard this man I immediately got inspired to pick up the axe and never looked back. I swear by the blues now.
You can listen to every version of this song and SRV never plays it exactly the same. Someone said (it might have been Tommy Shannon or Jimmy Lee Vaughan,)that "Stevie never plays the same thing once!" Love it. :D I have a ringneck dove who starts singing along every time I put Stevie on. He loves Stevie, too :D
I love how he doesn't play an intro. He melts your face for 2.5 minutes and then starts the song. Good Lord how I wish I would've been around to hear him play!
I was at Stevie's last show at Alpine Valley. I miss his passion and craft. Music wasn't life or death to him it was more important. He gave it everything he had, every time. God Bless Stevie. "Thank for all the love you passed our way."
You saw him live ?? such an inspiring and incredible guy. his music helped me through a lot. hearing him is wat made me like ok, i HAVE to learn guitar and sound like that Lol.
+Jessica Meaux It's been 26 now. RIP Stevie, See ya hopefully on your birthday next year! I'm planning to go visit Stevie on his birthday celebration of next year.
i saw Stevie at The Providence Performing Arts Center. It`s a plush theatre with a domed ceiling. i was stage left 5th row. the stage was eleveted maybe3 feet. He was 20 feet from me tops. Everyone had to remain in their seats and I only saw one person take a photo. she was escorted to and back from the stage to her seat. when he did voodoo Chile he put his hat on his mike stand and you could see the shadow on the side wall as if it were Jimi Hendrix profile. I could see the sweat rin down his face. Mind blown. After the show hw went and jammed with Roomful of Blues.
Hope there is no limit to the number of times I can watch and listen to Stevie sing and play this song in a row ! Agree with dizzykrissi...best version ever. Miss him !
I'm glad SRV entered Rehab when he did, Cause I can tell how much better he looks & sounds then In 85. When Stevie played his shows In 85 that he did, I can tell In the videos that the drugs were screwing with his head & Insides! So thank god to you SRV that you entered rehab when you did. RIP
yeah I noticed that he played with more intensity after he got sober.. but his 85' concert at el mocambo or whatever is in my opinion his best playing ever..
40 years ago I would have said he was weird but he wasn't. Did you see how he started dressing after he got clean. We know what the hat was about .weird are not he could make that guitar talk. He was a true southern gentleman. There want be anyone that can touch him once in a lifetime never be another stevie ray vaughan.
Ever find yourself thinking to yourself that when this guy comes to town your gonna go see him?? Then you snap back into it and realize all over again that he is gone?...I know I do
23 years soon. Only now getting near some of the emotions associated with his loss. Had just stepped off a plane from LA and got greeted with 4 words. Steve Vaughan is dead. These videos show what we lost as a guitarist, one of the best ever, but he was also a great guy. We all miss you Stevie. Thanks for posting.
SRV, You will be missed! My dad saw you play on fairgrounds, You're lucky you quit washing dishes to be s guitar legend & that you were & still are. Double Trouble misses you... RIP
Besides dreaming of the good old days and missing the hell out SRV like everyone that knew him and cut their teeth on his savey blues guitar. Never before or after will they be one like him. Such a great guitarist...and if possible a better person, full of humility, kindness, Strength, talent and passing all that LOVE around!
It dont matter what it is but its a wonderful thing watching a master craftsman doing what he does. And we all know what stevies craft was. Beautiful thing to behold
Two of the best lyrics I've ever heard... "Every tear that I've cried, only washed away the fear inside" "And all those painful memories, only brought me to my knees" Makes me think about how the bad teaches us about how good the good is.
It's fascinating watching musicians get in the zone. I have seen it many times in small venues. Sometimes if the crowd is right and the planets align they can transcend the zone itself. One musician I talked to called it getting outside. Luckily for us this fleeting moment was taped. Thank you Bill Burr for linking this video.
Love this song and video!! He was really on point that night!! I listen to this with my son every night, he is 7 and he loves SRV !! Thanks for posting!!
Stevie ray Vaughn was a channel open wide the music flowed through him. And he could make that guitar speak o my gosh. Stevie you were the best and still are.
I was there. Spring Break 1987 Daytona Beach Ocean Center. Greg Allman Band jammed too that night. During the day saw James Brown play the Bandshell on the beach. It was a Good Day!
I love the ending how he sings "ooo let me beeee!!" thats awesome! its been almost 21 years and Stevie is still impressing me everyday! Rest In Peace Good Man!
best electric blues guitar ever. After jimi, but not for quality and invention, just because he went after (and too soon died...). Miss you SRV, you made me survive a lot of years ago in a bad night in Padova (Italy)... You dont know. I do. Thank'you. Grazie...
I'm sorry but I believe he was better than jimi but he would have never said that, a very humble man but that is my opinion. And you know what they say about opinions they are like asses we all have them.
awesome!!! Stevie really was the best!!! He could play the guitar behind his back with more soul than most people could do playing normal. Long live the blues and Long live STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN
this is my favorite show with pro video if someone found the spectrum show video you have no idea he was beyond on fire that night both late and early show the late show has my favorite lenny though
The first time I heard SRV I was 13 years old and I was blown away by the way he played the guitar and still am How many bands can you say that they sound better live than in a Studio Eric Clapton and BBKing said that music just flowed through SRV Eric said he was never lost or had to think about his next cord it just flowed through him and BB King said There will never be another that does it like Stevie Come from those two artists What can you say about how great he really was and how much he loved people and helping people that was struggling with addiction I LOVE YOU SRV I MISS HIM SO VERY MUCH Just think of the music we would have today if he had not died when left Alpine Valley that night What a great man and musician
I was so fortunate to have seen Stevie 5 times live! I have been jaw-dropped so many different songs, but must admit this one is a gem! And per Stevie Ray, his what I called "zen state" is so right on!

Stevie Ray Vaughan was a legend playing electric guitar and solar singing in his performance on stage..after his death,it's really hard to say how many .ore songs Stevie could have written and performed in hid young life of being a musical genius..the band was fabulous..a great group of musicians..phenomenal
So passionately with your job, man. You really fell in love with music, with your guitar. Who could have ever seen other guitar player so performatic divine feeling while working? For more the only superb for watching or listening that sometimes emotion can become us breathless and until reach no words possible to say about this incredible artist called Stevie Ray Vaughan. Always a great pleasure for another appreciation level to music we had never take as unique experience you provided. What a pity that career and lifetime so short that left us without a more rich repertoire if you couldn't be long enough.
Stevie interpretando ésta canción me da escalofrios...me transporta...es una completa delicia😍👌♥️🙏por siempre vivirá entre nosotros con sus canciones ...un genio tan apasionado🥰
