BB King called him the best guitarist he's ever seen or played with. He paid tribute to all his idols, like Mr. Copeland here. From Muddy Waters to Freddie King To lightnin Hopkins. There are dozens of videos out there with him. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT MISS HIM DOING TEXAS FLOOD,makes this seem tame. HIPPIE REDNECK FORT WORTH, TEJAS⭐
Steve Ray Vaughan may have been the greatest blues guitarist who ever lived. And Johnny Copeland was a blues legend in Texas. Great friends those two - and they are dearly missed.
Hi again Thomas👋💙. Isn't it grand when someone experiences Stevie Ray for the first time? Gobsmacked and stunned. I can't even remember what song he played my first time watching and listening. I was so amazed and shook at the intense intimacy of his relationship with his guitar. So effortless and impeccable playing like it was no thing at all. His passionate soul just oozes with blues perfection, an absolute embarrassment of riches. I don't how many times I watched before I could even start to appreciate how special a talent I was witnessing. And my appreciation and respect continues to grow each and every time.
@@Thomas-qe7ez thank you Thomas. I am well. Trying to get lots of mulch down in my garden to help conserve precious water. It was 92 here today in Northern CA and 3rd year of a bad drought. But music and Stevie Ray in particular help through each and every day for which I am grateful. What part of the country do you make home? ✌️💙
Oh please head down the Stevie Ray Vaughan rabbit hole. I love watching people watch him for the first time. SRV is the greatest guitarist ever. And Johnny Copeland was magic!
You know I think that all of the old blue's players that were still alive back in the 80s had a special fondness for Stevie. Because he brought the blue's back to the mainstream and it boosted a lot of their careers . But when Stevie died in 1990 it brought an end to a wonderful revival. May all the old blue's players RIP.
Stevie Ray Vaughan brought Blues back from obscurity, giving credit to all the Greats with whom he played; if you want to know his roots, watch his 'In Session' video where he jams & reminisces with his mentor, God Father, Albert King: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4-apz26BfHY.html
Absolutely love this performance with Stevie and Johnny. Stevie Ray, the cat in the hat with a strat. Boy, are you gonna love the journey down this rabbit hole. If you love Blues, do yourself a favor and get you some SRV therapy, just what the Dr. ordered. 🎸👽🐐. ☮️ to all
Of all the SRV videos, and there are quite a few, this one with Johnny Copeland is my favorite. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do. There is something about this song that is deeply affecting.
Stevie Ray Vaughan was an amazing bules, rock, song writer and producer, his career only span 7 years but left a great legacy. He did a special with Albert King ( his godfather) and played with many great blues performers. He started playing guitar at the age of 7 when his brother Jimmy Vaughan from the band The Fabulous Thunderbirds, in 1983 his album Texas Flood debut, he was inducted into The Austin Music Hall Of Fame, Blues Hall Of Fame in 2000, honored by Mark White the Texas Governor in 1985, won 6 Grammys, 10 Austin Music Awards, 5 W.C.Handy Awards, Entertainer Of The Year, Instermental Of The Year, inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2015, he was nominated 51 times and won 21 times, Sad that after all that he only had one #1 hit with Crossfire. He played behind his head and back, backwards one hand, broken string, switched guitar in the middle of a solo and never missed a beat, he even used his elbow in Little Wing and he would adjust his guitar and AMP's while playing. He was one of a kind yet when you see great guitar God's or anything like that he is never #1, show me any other performer that can do all that I mentioned, still no one can. STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN IS THE GOAT OF ALL TIME
Back in another life, when I was working my way through college, I worked with a lot of older Black folks from the South. They were all amazed that I was aware of the blues given how young I was. Most beautiful music there is. Soulful too. Them old folks knew.
This concert is right behind Live at the El Macombo for his best performances that I've ever heard 👍👍 Johnny Copelands voice is INCREDIBLE, a real bluesman in every sense of the word! That part where he says EVVVVVVERY WOMAN❗️❗️❗️
Great reaction🎸🎶‼️💯. Welcome to the amazing world of our beloved Stevie Ray💙 . No one has ever played with more soul and commitment than this amazing artist. Self taught, never read music. Listened to all the great blues men on records and found the sounds on the guitar. All the great blues man accepted, loved, and respected this man as one of their own. They loved him like a son. BB King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, and so many others. For some more great collaborations there is a great team up of Albert King and Stevie called "In Session". Any track from that is 🔥‼️. One of my favorites from that is "Don't Lie to Me". Enjoy this incredible rabbit hole. We are looking forward to more from you✌️💙
Magic. Same concert.. And an even Better jam with SRV the Great Johnny Clpeland is "Look at Little Sister." They both let loose for about 9 minutes. They had wide smiles on their faces because they knew it was special. It is unbelievable. Note SRV always gave tribute to those like Copeland who paved the way for him.
Aughta be a law baby! That much talent on one stage at one time. Jeez the drummer and the bass player driving the rhythm in perfection with Stevie and Mr. Copeland, perfection, perfection, perfection. OMG I'm losin my mind!!! The lyrics of this song kill me every time.
I hope you get into the stevie ray Vaughan experience you will be blown away so many great performances watch live performances at Capitol theater couldn't stand the weather life without you testify ain't gone n give up on love
at 7:15 SRV made two upstrokes to tell Johnny Copeland how much he was loving what he was playing-strictly for them.❤At 8:25 when you said WTF?…Stevie, look at him-he’s actually recovering from that, you can see him taking a few breaths and getting his bearings back, albeit quickly. this is a fantastic part of SRV’s Montreaux 1985 concert.
I forgot how much Johnny loved those Peavey Strat copies. Great guitars. They never sold when they were first put on the market in the late seventies. A friend of mine inherited one from his older brother and I was blown away when I played it. They also designed a Peavey Telecaster for Steve Cropper in the early nineties, and not only did Cropper endorse it, he abandoned Fender altogether and has been playing a Peavey ever since.
Magicians! Absolutely. This is definitely one that after watching the video, you need to lie back and get comfortable, put on the headphones, close your eyes and listen again. And again.
I guess that this is your first Stevie Ray Vaughn video. Almost very one who hears this kind of stuff reacts the same way (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot), and the mind is blown again. Don't feel bad, we all did the same thing. this is one of his very best tunes, and he shared the stage with the man who wrote the tune. I just had to laugh. Your reaction is classic. Nobody could believe SRV was that good, until they SAW him play. Again, don't feel bad, we all have been there who like SRV. RIP Stevie, we all miss you. ;-)
I've noticed many reactors covering this but I never watched... this is my first time... and only because YOU covered it. In a different SRV video, you said it's like he's teaching the guitar how to play~~~brilliant my friend. Texas Flood at El Macombo is awesome and you've covered it but I love the intensity of his vocals in Texas Flood Shout Factory A Celebration of Blues and Soul. And thank you for never stooping to laugh at his. "stank face!" Lol anyone who can play like that.. can make any face they want
Interesting fact about this concert series, well couple. First he performed there 3 yrs earlier and was BOO'd. Next he was "discovered" by Jackson Brown and David Bowie who were attendance at that show. Jackson Brown lent SRV studio time and David Bowie invited him to play on his up coming album "Let's Dance"😉
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 THE goat of all goats Do yourself a HUGE favor ⬇️: **Texas Flood at El Macambo** **Life Without You at Capitol Theater ** **Voodoo Child at Starwood Theater in Nashville**
This is one of my favorites when he plays with Jimmy Copeland and 10 Pannelli is you’ll love this song you’ll love the duet between them and the chemistry between them and that’s what I like about him he gives credit of all the black guitars that he learned from that he played with that he gave his soul to that music and I am with your brother on Ness say hi to your brother from Liz the queen
Oh Lord son! Your great great grandma?? I'm from not too far from Alabama and I've seen Stevie Ray in concert! Ever heard of Johnny Winter? Try Highway 61 Revisited!
@@artbagley1406 I have that on his Best of Album! I love his acoustics...Too Much Seconal, Come on in My Kitchen, Anything that's bass our drum driven, Hwy 61 Revisited, Hustled Down in Texas and even the two tracks he didn't like lol, From a Buick 6 and Lucille!
Hi from your new subscriber in Charlotte NC! You reacting to Stevie Ray (the 🐐) made me stop & subscribe! 🎸💯 Those Texas blues tho son‼🤯🔥 SRV called his guitar "The One"‼ RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan. ❤🕊🙏 (Do yourself a favor & check out SRV's "Texas Flood" Live at El Mocambo! Seriously, dude. JUST DO IT!)
Watch "Rise of a Texas Bluesman", a short bio on SVR you can find here on YT. It's really good and will prime you for your trip into SVR greatness. Subscribed. But if you're going down the SVR rabbit hole you gotta favor the versions filmed at the El Macambo. That was one of the top 5 live concert films in history. It's a tiny little club in Toronto and he was on fire that night like I never saw him before. Texas Flood will blow you away. Seriously. Your great grandma probably listened to the old bluesmen like the ones who were Stevie's inspiration and like Johnny Copeland there. He was from Texas but she probably knew the Mississippi Delta blues better.
I know you like this one (we ALL do) but you SERIOUSLY need to listen to the video where he does this song all by himself. Hard to imagine, but it's even better than this one. Even if you don't want to react to it, please listen/ watch if for own edification - he hits it harder and it will wring you out. You'll need to smoke a cigarette when he finishes - even if you don't smoke, lol.
Another huge SRV fan here. I'd like to suggest another song of Stevie Ray's "Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood (Live at the El Mocambo)" But if you would permit me, I would also like to make suggestion for another band "The Allman Brothers Band - One Way Out - At Fillmore East 1971 (HQ)" and this is another fine example of a southern-rock blues band. We lost Stevie Ray to a helicopter crash in 1990, at the tender age of 35yrs. old. RIP: Stevie Ray U R Missed 💔🔥🤘🎸
Great taste! New sub! Wowza! Hope you like Texas Flood! Also, Stevie also duets with his mentor, Albert King, too and it’s fabulous. Jimi Hendrix also loved the blues. Watch BB King and Buddy Guy- they influenced everybody!
So I was just on your channel checking to see the traffic on your other reactions and it would seem garnering over 3K views in 12 days is the winner💯. Must be time to do more Stevie Ray🎸🎶‼️. Suggesting "Ain't Gone 'N' Give Up On Love" from the Capitol Theatre in 1985. One of his original compositions🎶 Enjoy✌️💙
SRV IS JUST AWESOME I WAS LIVING IN AUSTIN TEXAS WHEN YOU COULD SEE SRV PLAYING ON 6TH STREET AND AUSTIN CITY LIMITS, I MISS HIM AND HIS BAND TOMMY SHANNON ON THE BASE.
