You can see the SHEER JOY on Stevie's face every time he plays with his idols. I love watching his IN SESSION with ALBERT KING, STEVIE RAY truly loved ALBERT 💜 and Albert loved Stevie. Albert said Stevie was the only white man with a Black daddy, Stevie said Albert was his God Father. from what I've read Albert didn't like much of anybody but he saw something special in Stevie. check out their Performance BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN!! ALBERT KING WAS A BLUES LEGEND 💜 💜💜

Johnny Copeland was a Texas blues legend who moved to North Jersey and made lots of great blues records. He passed away some years back. He is also the father of Shemekia Copeland, a great blues singer in her own right. Some of Mr. Copeland's music I liked and maybe you might: "Houston", "Flyin' High", "T-Bone Shuffle" (with Albert Collins) "Black Cat Bone" (also with Mr. Collins) and "Lion's Den". Mr. Copeland not only could get after it on the guitar, he had one of THE great blues voices and that's why Stevie Ray, also being from Texas, hugely admired Johnny Copeland as one of his influences.

I count myself lucky to have made it to one of his concerts when I was very young. I did not really know who he was B4 then. For some reason lately, I’ve been watching all sorts of SRV videos here on RU-vid and appreciate him so very much. I later learned he basically dedicated his entire life and time to blues bands and his entire relatively short life was a whirl wind of non stop travel ... since he was born. He and his brother were brought up having to move every couple of months and it was his big brother that got the first guitar when SRV was so little. From day one, every time his brother would leave the house, (warning SRV that he better not touch his guitar) SRV would sneak in his Bro’s room and snag his guitar ... and the challenge to learn to play his best, to try to be as good as his big bro is what started it all. They both dropped out of high school as all they wanted to do was play guitars and be in bands! SRV was in a band by Jr High. The constant traveling and band playing went on literally to his dying day. SRV - AN ABSOLUTE INSPIRATION AND PURE SOUL GUITAR BLUES LEGEND. 💎🔥💎🔥💎🔥💎🔥💎🔥💎🔥

You might want to try Life Without You written for his friend Charley Wirz who was a mentor and helped Stevie in how he designed his guitars. Stevie named the guitar Charey after his friend who died of a heart attack. Stevie used the guitar they designed which a white guitar. It often brings tears to my eyes and there is something special but I won't say what.

All these great guitarists are as different as great singers. Sometimes it’s the song or the version or where it was played. Stevie played a few Hendrix and other blue artists and rock but composed his own too-a few amazing blues; some rock-blues, some rock and few instrumentals (favorite LMost fans point out his best versions cuz he plays different each time-sometimes hard to choose. And he plays guitar like a mandolin sometimes, like in this one😎

When Johnny Copeland stepped up to the microphone he was supposed to sing the next verse but forgot the words so he just started playing a solo, that was the reason Stevie and Johnny laughed and Stevie hugged Johnny.

There's just basically never a downside to watching any of the old blues men perform. Albert King, Johnny Copeland, John Lee Hooker, SRV, etc... A big part of the blues is making it your own, so they are totally comfortable just rolling with it. Never know what you'll get, but you can be sure it'll be good.

Alot of people talk about other guitarist being better than Stevie Ray Vaughan and I'll say it again, show me a video any video of anyone playing guitar behind their back for 85% of Voodoo Child, switch guitar in the middle of a solo, play with a broken string period and then we can talk. Even Eric Clapton was going to play a show that Stevie Ray was playing and after Stevie Ray was done Eric Clapton actually said " you expect me to go on after that?" STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN IS WAS AND WELL ALWAYS BE THE GOAT.

People have always talked about Stevie Ray Vaughan being compared to Jimi Hendrix and other great guitarist but I always say tell me one guitarist, just one who could play as long as he did behind their back, behind their head, with a broken string, switch guitar in the middle of a solo, play with one hand, backwards, their teeth and play without hands by moving the guitar up and down and even use their elbow. No way, you won't find one person that can do all that but yet when I watch guitar God's or best guitarist of all time Stevie Ray is never #1 they have him #7 or even #11 which is insane to me.
