Mark: Get a decent weight stick. Me: Broomstick. edit: anyway thank you po for teaching

For Escrima you can cut the broomstick in half into double stick. For Bojutsu/Wushu just use the single stick for training. Some broomsticks have very nice wood finish and I do recommend it (^__^) Here's a single stick demo: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E7i4pNsqnls.html

Thanks! A really clear explanation and demonstration of a technique that puzzled me for years. I followed along with my own stick and was able to get these techniques no problem!

Good video for beginners the tip of bringing your hand higher on the stick makes it easier to twirl the stick I was having a hard time before watching this video twirling the Kali stick thank for your awesome videos much appreciated! Keep them coming!

Guys... the best format for these lessons is to lead with a full speed example of what we’re going to learn. I find myself skipping around all these videos just trying to figure out what it’s about. Usually I just give up.

The devil is in the details.. most people wouldn’t be able to follow a tutorial if it was all full speed

@@mcanastacio just in the beginning, one full speed example would be really helpful. I like the breakdowns but want to know what I’m gonna be learning before I commit to watching an entire video.

You mentioned a twirl (arco?) type that you were not keen on. What is that type? Why is it not a preferred type of arco?

youtube custom speed app(can go lower than 0.25) and a looper with time intervals are very good for what you are asking for.

No way. It should always be full grip. Use the wrist motion to twirl and never open the fingers.
