Todays video is about getting a stihl 01av Chainsaw running again after 7 years. I had to fix the Spark plug, Put a piston ring on and rebuild the Carburetor. In the end it ran great! Contact info MarleyJaxGarage@gmail.com
Rebuilding mine now. Got it for cheap in shambles but thanks to your video I was able to reinstall the bearings, ring and cylinder head. Thanks for the instruction.
I love these saws! I’ve got a couple 011 and an 012. That reed valve gives them that raspy gravelly tough sound. They have some torque also! You have an early one if it’s all orange and a metal and riveted name plate. Great deal you got even if this needed an hour or two- obviously they were made to be able to be fixed and not thrown away!
I See Spark Jumping From The Plug Wire Hold Down Metal Strap to The Cylinder I’ve Seen It Several Times as a Stihl Tech The Coil Needs Replaced or a Few Layers of Shrink Tubing Around The Wire if The Wire Itself Isn’t Broken Due to The Routing
FYI, and maybe you caught it already, on the carburetor, the metering diaphragm (the one with the round metal disk) goes on last, against the cover. The thicker gasket goes against the carb body, then the diaphragm, then the cover. It looks like whoever rebuilt it before you, did it backwards which will allow the needle to stay open and flood out. The pump side diaphragm was correct. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xyOnjW_J_y8.html 1:20 explains. Nice work! Just rebuilt an 011AV myself.
love it. Just pulled my dad's old one out of the garage which had a cracked handle. I'm working on a no spark issue as well. I'll try the wire and plug first, but may have to pull the fly wheel to get at the coil/condenser.
@@MarleyJaxGarage I did. Bad points or condenser, so I just installed a $10 electronic ignition. Runs like a champ. It was a little bit of work to get the flywheel off and rewire everything, but worth it.
Put a little oil in cylinder to see if compression comes up ..if it does the piston rings ...if compression does not come up it will most likley be reed valve
Those E3 spark plugs are known to be junk, and fail to fire even when new...and the gasket goes on before the diafram, it was wrong when you took it apart, and you put it back wrong too..
