I live out in a rural area where most homes are on on no less than 2 acre lots. Many are much larger. Living close by are neighbors keep and tend honey bee hives and I've heard from them that fogging for mosquitos can severely impact their hives even to the point of destroying the entire hive. Naturally, I don't want to do that. One thing to recommend is to fog only late evening. Mosquitoes are most active at this time and honey bees are not. This allows time for the residue left behind to dry on foliage and pose less of a risk for bees who come in contact with it. A second recommendation is to not fog around plants that are flowering. Naturally, that's what the bees are looking for. Thanks for the video!

I know the professionals here also add a Surfactant to the spray mix to help it stay adhered longer. It's some kind of a thickener or oil

Mosquito ULV sprayers are meant to suspend the particle in the air, not make it stick. The only time you might consider that is if you are spraying resting places

Please remember to switch your pesticide class every other application. If using Synthetic pyrethroids Like OneGuard, Talstsr, Demand CS etc, make sure your next application is a natural based product like Esentria or Eco Raider ER-3. This will help reduce pests from developing resistance to the pesticide. This will happen if using the same synthetic pyrithroids over and over again. If this happens, we are all screwed because there are no more new formulations. Please be conscious of this especially as a home owner and always always read the label of the product before applying. I do this professionally and if you want to do your own application that’s great just read the labels and practice integrated pest management so that we don’t lose these tools.

John, the DIY industry has done more harm to the environment because very many of these people who use products and equipment do not understand that it is much more than meets the eye.

That depends. One guard is a three in one but gets expensive. I use it now every third time and use Talstar the rest of the time. So to answer your question, I like them both.

What do you do about neighbors trees beyond fence? Also does this replace normal insect control? Spiders, ants etc

I fog the neighbors trees that run along the fence. I asked them about it and they were good with it. It does not get rid of all the ground insects. I spray separately for those. I think I did a video on it as well. Thanks for watching!

Josh, I bout this setup after watching your video and seeing that you also have a pool. Do you have any issues with pool chemistry after dpraying?

No issues! My pool is salt and I try to make sure none gets in the pool. I imagine some may runoff with rain, but none of the pool chemistry changes.

Would you let us know what volume setting (ex. 3 or 4) and for how long at this setting you're able to spray? The SR200 holds 2.6gallons, and I'm trying to figure out how long I will be able to spray. Is one 2.6 gallon tank enough to do my ~1/2acre?

My property is about a 1/2 acre as well. It takes me 3 tanks to get the job done. It goes pretty quickly. I have mine set on the lowest setting. Will go back and look to see what the number is

@@joshdoesreefing7241 Great info, thanks! I have the SR200, and just order some Oneguard to try (~$105/32oz). Used at the recommended 2oz/gallon first treatment mixing ratio, your 3 x 2.6gallon tanks would be ~$50 of Oneguard ($6.81 / gal @ 2oz/gal mixing ratio). Still learning, so impossible for me to judge $/effectiveness, yet. Talstar is ~$0.69/gal mixed at 1oz/gallon....I notice the IGR, if added, looks to be the most $$$ of the cocktail. You mention costs were approx. equal when adding the Archer IGR...were you adding the Archer at 2oz / gallon?

I can’t say for sure. I have never used it for ticks and am currently out. So can’t look at the label. You can go to their website and see if they are listed.

It says on the label that it is kid/pet friendly after it is dry. So keep kids away while spraying and remove pets until it drys. Talstar is used in lots of places and even commercial kitchens. I consider it to be safe.

Can’t find any good reviews on OneGuard does anybody know if it actually works for mosquito control ?

I think it works fine, but so does Talstar at a cheaper price. The OneGuard has the added growth regulator, but can’t say if it is doing anything or not.

Can I use this to spray round up Only? Is there any one who knows?

I have actually done it. My mom has a lot that had a lot of vegetation. I used the fogger to cover with roundup. The only issue was that even on the lowest setting, it went through a lot of roundup. I did still get the results, but was fairly expensive.

I am afraid I know nothing about repairs and things. I just use mine and haven’t had any issues.

It leaks because the SR 200 is junk. I bought a new one last summer and it leaked terribly. It’s a defect in the unit. Look at the reviews on the Stihl website and you’ll see all the bad reviews on this unit leaking.
