Still A Fantastic Family SUV (Skoda Kodiaq RS 2024 Review) 

Best car I've ever had. Best of its kind on the market. Great engine and very comfortable.

We've had the Skodiak for nearly 3 years, and it is an impressive all-rounder. I like the fact it is 200kg lighter than equivalents, but feels solid & very well built. We have the standard engine, but it's completely adequate, no doubt due to the healthy torque always available. The grandkids love the back seats, which will be quite adequate until they reach teenage years. I put down the centre split seat and the kids jump through the gap into the rear. The car does interstate tours well with the driver aids really effective and safe. I easily do a full day at the wheel without fatigue. The best surprise for me has been the dealer service: professional, thorough, thoughtful and less expensive than the more premium brands. I've had no reliability issues. In terms of criticism I would have liked a heads-up display and matrix headlights, and perhaps less wind and road noise at freeway speeds but this never affects music or conversation. The android auto preferences the wireless connection, but this doesn't work for some older phones or less common brands (my wife's Samsung grabs the connection before my Oppo, which will only work with the wired connection).

We've had the petrol RS for 3 years and love it. We do long interstate road trips twice a year and it is incredibly comfortable and easy to drive for long periods. Fast enough to overtake and great traction on windy roads. And the boot is substantial with the 3rd row flat.

Great review, top value car. With that durable VW Group 2.00 litre engine, and the high equipment levels, it's a no brainer for a family car.

All my friends of mine who own this vehicle had it for 3 years or more. I'm a little confused about whether it has still life in it if purchase a new one. Will this particular model look outdated soon after the facelift arrives? What's your opinion? 🧐

Take the plastic covers off the wheels, problem solved..... I swapped from the diesel vrs to this one. Quieter overall, slower under 100kph but faster over that when passing. The Matrix headlights are the bomb too as we live rural. New one is around 200kw but no torque increase so not sure how much extra omph that will add in real world driving.

Would be great if VW could bring the Skoda to South Africa, I am taken by the looks and functionality of this car more than the Tiguan.

As you mentioned its the same price as a kluger, but the kluger has 200kw, dont think id get one of these over that for the same price, even with all the bells and whistles this has.

Why don't all cars have door protectors? And would it cost that much to match the paint colour?

Please talk something about the reliability and customer service of Skoda. Regarding Kluger nobody is worried to be stuck on road or computers getting crazy .

Is this a reliable SUV ?

I have a 2016 Octavia..The Mecatronics in the DSG broken down. It would cost me $7000 to fix. Funny the car itself is only worth 6 or 7k. skoda and vw (like other euros) are too expensive to fix when it breaks down and resale value is basically nothing. lucky I bought mine a second hand at a much lower price few years ago.

Would you buy a new Skoda without any Star rating from ANCAP? I would Damn right. Who needs Ancap, not in this instance.

All manufacturers do lie..Skoda a bit more. RS does 10km/l then end. I am no where near 7.9 :)

in the middle of considering the Tiguan r and was getting interested in this car until you sai it had 180kw,just not enough for a car this size

Avoid skoda and vw like the plague... dsg 7sp boxes are absolute nightmares. Clutch pack is 3k, mechatronic unit 3k minimum. Vw or skoda will try lile hell to not warranty failures unless pressed. Plus the good ol shudder that dsg boxes do when taking off slowly or reversing up hill slowly.

The engine is too small for a vehicle of this size, the torque figure is not great.

$70K? Try over $80K with options on the road. 7 year service pack and electric tow bar alone add about $7k. Lloyd

The lack reliability of the 7 speed VW group DSG is the stuff of nightmares.

Prefer the older RS diesel version, so much torquier

Not a spare wheel ... spacer saver wheel ...... stops dead any thought of buying this vehicle

better with CRV hybrid top spec at 60k Driveaway. almost same size and better in everyway

It is not a spare wheel.. it is a space saver.. read it again "Space Saver" ... so such a big family car and only a saver !! So on wonderful Aussie roads, esp. if you drive out to the country... and you get a flat tyre... good luck driving at that reduced speed when being tailgated and honked at and trying to find your way back to a tyre shop on a weekend or School Holidays. Skoda - Simply NOT Clever !!
