@@jadiellima8922 Because to enjoy watching a sport you need to be interrupted every 3 minutes with Doritos adverts, information about the new season of Greys Anatomy and repeated loud animations for life insurance?
I don't know what the hell that was, American football doesn't make sense to me at the best of times, seems to be more about dressing up than playing sport. But whatever THAT was, it was NOT Rugby Union or Rugby League.
@@peterbreen3039I've never seen people so obsessed w/ one man, other than you people with TDS. You wake up & go to bed with hating Donald Trump on your mind. It's pretty sad.
@@peterbreen3039you sound like you'd be a horrible coach bringing politics and other things that divide into a locker room where you need to unite everyone.
I bet the plan was the white team fields the leaner players, they make enough back passes for the big guys on the defensive line to run out of breath, and then you take your chance with the safeties.
Yeah, same as the old cal tech play like this. The football players played rugby in the offseason and they were able to complete a similar play for the win.
Try rugby. Big hits from big blokes, little blokes running quick, fights, blood, respect for the referee, no adverts except at half time plus no helmets so you can see their faces and lip read their insults. Final whistle goes they shame hands and go for a beer.
Rugby is cool and all, but, football is superior. I did once watch a match where rugby dude caught a cleat to the forehead and he remained on the sideline for the duration of the game with a fuggin cleat in his head. Gnarly dude.
Oui toujours des passes en arrière !! Pendant quelques secondes on était en plein match , certes les passes sont éloignées.. mais le Spirit était là !! 😊
@@patgerrygee6799 American Football, Rugby League and a handful of other sports all originated as Rugby. Even Rugby Union today is very different than the original Rugby game
From CBS....Michael Badgley's field goal with 5:54 to play gave the Hurricanes a 12-point lead, meaning the Blue Devils would have to double their output for the game in those final six minutes just to tie. But they did just that and three points more, Thomas Sirk's 1-yard sneak with six seconds to play appearing to give Duke the win. The Blue Devils' final drive was aided by three Miami penalties -- giving the Hurricances a whopping 23 for the night. But even 23 penalties weren't 24 penalties, and as a result the Hurricanes will forever celebrate one of the most memorable endings in the program's storied history.
@@65MaX73that is true if the ball is thrown forward. However, if you throw the ball backwards or sideways, it’s a “lateral pass,” which means the ball can be recovered by anybody. Laterals most often are only used in moments of desperation, because otherwise it’s just creating a huge risk of the other team recovering the ball, usually for very little gain.
Love it. I never understood why the lateral pass is never, ever used. I'd get tired if it was this constantly, but it's fun to see teams go for it once in a while.
On Sunday (In 2015), the ACC announced that the on-field officiating crew, the replay official and the communicator have all been suspended. In a statement, the league admitted that a Miami runner was indeed down, and that the game should have ended before the Hurricanes reached the endzone. The league also noted that officials missed an illegal block in the back on Miami’s 16-yard line, as well as a dead ball foul after a Miami player ran on the field of play from the sideline.
Thanks for giving us an update from news reports 8 plus years ago. You just copied and pasted, gave no other info or opinions on it. Reality is "missing a block in the back" happens on tons of returns. The only real issue is whether dude's knee was down before he surrendered control of ball. It does look like it but again, ultimately officials miss plays all the time. Duke blew the play far more than officials did.
This is called a lateral play, it only makes sense at the end of the game when you are desperate. Other wise it's stupid, you need to make it 10 yards every 4 plays or else you turn the ball over to the other team, if your knee touches the ground the plays dead, lateral plays almost never work in American football. And you can gain much more yards and it's much safer to pass or hand off the ball. Rugby plays are extremely basic compared to the average college or NFL team playbook that has 10,000 unique plays. This isn't a play, it's just an unorganized mess, which perfectly describes rugby.
So true. The guy the ball was intended for at the end, turned up field and immediately started lookin for someone to hit, didn’t even look at the runner.
What a busy little play! They drew back to their own goal line, and then punched through in an astounding full-field charge. The blocking was HEROIC! I've never seen anything like it.
Jesus Loves you He died on the cross for your sins and if you repent if your sins and confess with your mouth His is Lord and son of God you are saved. God bless 😊😊
Well if we fix the root problems, then we can. Other than that it’s gonnna continue to be how it is and get worse the longer we don’t. UNLESS something major happens that forces folks to get together… other than that, it’s not gonna happen soon as we want it too.
@@boogietarantinoarguably that's the issue, people want it when they want it and don't take any steps to change things unless you have an immediate reward for it - including small ones. I see it a lot socially amongst friends who come to me for advice and the answer is usually overwhelmingly simplistic and straightforward. Considering this is a social issue I'm inclined to believe it's again a simple answer. I personally think it's our communication skills, we're generally at war rather than actually making any worthwhile advancements, and I'm not referring to politics but you can interpret it that way if you want.
@@JoshuaDay0550 can you explain for me? I’m not a huge sports guy but I know the basics, I didn’t see anything wrong here. I’d like to know what was wrong about the play
Least it was entertaining, the NFL is for Senior Athletes, its like the Hollywood Squares of the NCAA. And Commentary is their retirement. (if they are lucky to make it that far).
This is the kind of scene, where they lose 50 games, and then need to make a win to pay for a team members grandmas surgery, so if they win the win $50K. So they make this elaborate plan. You get up from the movie. "No, no. That ain't gotta be real."
Yea, it feels like the end of the children's movie, Little Giants. This clip has bought out the inner wein (sorry child) in me. PS I live in Northern Ireland,🏈😆
Always blows my mind when a play like this goes on this long and the team with the ball doesn’t get a flag called for a holding or block in the back penalty. Wild.
@@juantuan5941the ACC literally apologized to Duke for the poor reffing on this play. One player had a knee down with the ball. There were several illegal blocks against Miami. The ACC put out a statement saying that Duke should have won the game.
It's called ball control. The worst play in football is to lose control of the ball and have the opposing team gain control. This was the last play of the game. They were about to lose. Given the situation, there was no downside to making this call, but you would never see it in regulation play.
Just watch rugby then, because that's what this play was. Bonus is that rugby is played continuously, like soccer, and there are no excessive commercial breaks.
