Still the best FPS? Classic Doom! 

I enjoy Doom more than half of modern shooters, including Doom. I would be perfectly willing to be stuck on earth with only the Doom games as my FPS games, again, minus Doom and eternal. And N64 Doom was really freaking good surprisingly, and again more than a lot of modern shooters. Highly recommended.

I have a multi game backlog on the Series X right now, all great AAA games I've bought on sale or full price that I keep meaning to play, but whenever I sit down for an hour or two I play Doom or Doom II. I'm constantly amazed that a 30 year old game designed for 4:3 320p on a 14"-17" PC monitor looks so good at 16:9 HD on a huge flat screen
