The final stretch of sailing a Catalina 42 from Lake Michigan to the south end of Florida, provisioning, avoiding bad weather, and prepping for a night sail to the Bahamas. Anchoring out plenty, staying healthy and in good spirits can be a challenge when weather puts us behind schedule. Seeing subscribers and friends provides some sunshine. Lauderdale's Lake Sylvia is an oasis of sailor safety - but a crowd to be managed by the lakeshore residents and authorities. Stuart Florida is the last less-expensive marina stop heading south - a $150 slip costs $500 nightly in Lauderdale.

Hi Dennis, Robert here. We just met at Firefly. I watched your newest video, number 38. I like it. I'll go back and watch others. Don't forget to come back for the music festival on Hope Town! Safe sailing.

Hey, Tracie! Sailors have to ignore where the hands are on the clock and just take whatever weather windows exist no matter the time of day. Also, a solo sailor like me who has limited range needs to consider navigating the unknown waters and of destinations in daylight - so a 12, 14 (in my case) or 16 hour passage needs to start in the dark to finish in the light. Crews of four can sail for extended periods, day and night. Hope the wind has subsided in the Florida Keys for you - still blowing strong in the Bahamas

I'll look for her, Derek - thanks for keeping an eye on me. West End was a necessity to wait for a weather window. I really got lucky after that with tides and wind. Whew. You won't belive the stupid sh#$t I got into entering Marsh. Next video or two. Thanks again for the note and support.

Hey, Robert! You have a great crowd. Yes, I will definitely look into anchoring off Firefly for the music festival . . . And it's not the prospect of free rum motivating me! 😅

Hey, Jennifer - The windier-than-normal season is becoming a theme. I'm going to snoop around the Abacos and see if weather will allow me to visit other areas - I don't want you navigating the Michigan winter at a palm tree deficit from RU-vid. 😊

Hey Dennis Good to see you back and that you made it to Marsh Harbour. Was a little worried when your AIS stalled in the gulf stream half way to WestEnd for three days! If you see our old boat San-D, she's in Guana Cay area please give her a wave for us. Thanks Dennis Derek

Hi Dennis! Great to see you’re finally on your way to the 🇧🇸! Why do sailors tend to make the trip from Florida to 🇧🇸 at night though? I’ve seen this with a few different channels and I’ve always been curious. Well, I know you made it safely, so sending you best wishes as you navigate around those beautiful waters! Take care!

Hey! So I ended up putting on the closed captions since it was kind of windy. That came in very handy this episode! Also, it's nice chatting/texting with you and then actually seeing what you're talking about on the upcoming episode! I feel special!😂 Have fun! Chat later! Question - when you fly Sparky do you need to notify the FAA?

Hey, Ann - Thanks for checking in!! I am exploring the Abacos for the next few weeks while watching the unseasonably windy conditions in contemplation of adventures farther south. I hope your warm weather getaway is a perfect alternative to the snowy north. I do miss skiing 😊😊
