And for those wondering - because of speed and wind, power boaters are more prone to be more bare at the fuel dock . . . While sailors prefer a somewhat more modest place to rip off the threads, at sea . . . 😅

Yes, you described exactly my approach to furling - thank you. I'm sometimes furling later than I should or being a bit lax on sheet tension. Yes, even a bit of candy cane or loose wrap has made the furl vulnerable in heavy winds to popping out - that happened to me in Charleston. That was a nightmare. Regarding hauling - nothing has happened, yet. I have a plan that will be a nice surprise, if I can get it to work out. Thanks again for your tips and support. Good luck to you, as well!

Some nice sailing. It's almost like lake sailing in those protected waters Tip regarding your furling frustrations. When rolling up in light winds, put bit of tension on the sheet when rolling in the furling line. This will get you a nice even roll. When in heavy winds, luff the sail and roll in. Won't be as tight of a roll. I sometimes luff up a bit, roll in, bear off a bit and roll the rest. This way the first rolls are not too tight Are you hauling out in Florida or heading northbound Fair winds

Dennis, I recommend you sail to the UK. To be more precise, Brighton. In the early eighties, while working in London, I would take a 45-minute train ride and unwind on the beach. One day while strolling along the promenade, I came across a nudist colony. Needless to say, I continued walking! 😂 Safe travels back to the mainland.
