I LOVE this owl!! - Beautiful 🦉btw, I lose my words too. Probably because it’s not easy for me to concentrate on stitching and talking at the same time so I totally understand. I enjoyed your video and look forward to catching up on your other vids as well.

Enjoyed seeing the squirrel at the beginning. We use to have a squirrel that would come visit us,and my husband always kept peanuts handy to leave for him.Your owl is looking incredible, Perfect example of how the stitched work looks even better than the picture of the kit. I have never tried a Riolos kit. It was fun stitching along with you! I always take a copy of my pattern to use as my working copy. I highlight as I go, and then when I’m finished I normally pass on the pattern or sell on eBay. My vote is to continue on the owl or Henry.

The owl is looking great! I think I would like to see you work on the London piece this week. I love everything you are working on but I really like the London piece! Thank you for the video. It was nice to stitch with you today. Have a great day!

I like some Riolis's designs. Especially new collection. I've stitched 2 already from old one collection. Autumn and Monet. This owl is wonderful. I wanna stitch it as well.

This owl is so pretty. I love watching your stitch with me videos and look forward to seeing more. Thank you for having this on, I love that this beautiful design uses 14 count. Sometimes I feel I am the only one using 14 count anymore. I look forward to more of your videos. :) Snowy Owl gets my vote to keep working on for Monday.

Another wonderful video, I really enjoy watching your videos. Your demeanor is so calm, it’s wonderful, you take the time to show us instead of just flashing the pattern or work. What great work, I think your stitches look very even. I also have a Riolis kit, it’s the poppies one. Haven’t started it. I bought a kit from my local LNS that was a riolis got it home opened it and thought this is way beyond me, the chart was so intimidating I brought it back. Lol. As for stitching I’m happy to see whatever you choose. Happy stitching. I’m an animal lover, thanks for sharing your squirrel friend. 😊

Hello friend!! Thank you for sharing the details of this kit. There are two Riolis kits that I would absolutely love to stitch. One is the German castle that I don't know how to spell and the other is Lady with a Fan, taken from the Klimt painting. Both of them have the wool/acrylic threads in the kit. I've put off getting them because I don't want to spend a lot of money on a kit if I'm going to be allergic to the threads. I might get a small one like you did and test it out. The threads that are in my Tuscany Riolis kit are Anchor and they came in individual skeins that I bobbinated myself. They didn't come on floss cards. I enjoyed stitching with you this evening!! The sound of the threads going through the fabric was wonderful!!!

Snowy is coming along nicely - I've never heard of the company, so seeing the design come alive is helping me!

Hi Gerald, I’m stitching Snowy Owl as well and totally agree on the wool floss. What I’ve done is make a black and white copy on legal size paper and use an orange highlighter to mark off what I’ve stitched. It’s a beautiful pattern which I’ll be gifting to my cousin who loves 🦉. Hmmm tough choice, I’d like to see Henry worked on. He’s so close to a finish it would be awesome to see him completed.

Dimensions kits do the blended too. Sometimes pain in the butt. Gotta say the effect often is worth it. I say work on Henry, but I'm a little bit of a haed nut so take my opinion with a grain of salt lol. Seems there's so few haed floss tubers that work on them constently. You and Pam and maybe a few others. Get him done by retreat !🤣🤣

Hi, Gerald. I've been watching your vids for some time already and I love them. Watching you stitching the owl made me ti pick up my kit (the same 🙂) after two years. I am working from bottom up and just finishing the second leg. The same issues with wool and pattern 🤔. I love the London kit as well. Actually, you inspired me to check TG web site and I picked up Amsterdam in black. It's on its way already 🙂. It'll be gifterd to my friend living in the Netherlands. And at last but not least I purchased a mushroom pattern 😃. Well, it seems that we have similar taste for patterns. Keep posting your great vids! Greetings from Slovakia.

Well, I've just created an account on Instagram but realized that it is impossible to upload pictures from PC. I am taking pictures of my stitching progress by digi camera instead of smartphone. I'd like to share them but have not yet figured how to do it on Instagram. :-(

Hi Gerald, if my chart is a colored one, I use a pencil to mark off my stitches, as I don’t keep them or give them away, with the exception of my Jingles series, which I have left as new, I hi light on my original copies, as once I’m done with it, I either tear them up or they go in the shredder, great progress on your Owl, and I would love to see more progress on Henry, have a good week and happy stitching.

Hi, Gerald. I have a Riolis kit that I started 4-5 years ago and didn't get too far with it. Someday I'll get it out and give it another try, but not right now. Next week i'd like to see: 1) continuation on the owl, 2) London, 3) Henry. Or whatever you want to work on! Take care; hope there are no more storms coming your way. Patty

I have never stitched a Riolis kit. I will have to try one. I think you should either work on the Snowy Owl or Henry. Enjoyed the video.

I have several Riolis kits, and I think they are lovely. The only problem I have with their threads is that they tend to wear out (shred, fuzz, etc) more quickly, especially on a stiff fabric. I have dealt with this primarily by switching out the fabric to a softer linen and using shorter lengths of thread. Your owl is coming along beautifully and from where I sit your stitches look very nice. I think when we examine our work, it's up close and we see every bit of unevenness caused by uncooperative threads. However, people will be looking at our work from 3-5 feet away from the piece and from there this project and others will look beautiful. As to what you should stitch I would say for you to stick with your goals---so to help in that endeavor, Henry or London would be what I would love to see.

Always enjoy your videos. Snowy Owl is coming out great, but I think you should focus on Henry. He's so close to a finish! That's my vote for this coming week. I am in Connecticut, and as for this Wednesdays storm, they are saying it may go out to sea. Sure hope they are right!

I understand that Frixion makes a highliter that you can remove with heat. So I think we could highline our original pattern, then use an iron to remove the markings.

I just started my first Riolis. A friend sent me Starry Night and she has one also so we are starting it today (Mar 30th) for Van Gogh's birthday. I started it in the center and then realized I had my fabric facing portrait instead of landscape. I picked everything out and the "wool" thread left color behind. This kit uses all wool and 14ct aida. I also found they left me 2" top and sides and 1 1/2" bottom. You can message me in IG @qnvikki if you like.

When you work with the wool thread , does it feel like you get more done ? I mean because the thread is thicker ! It really looks like you do . The owl is going to be awesome!! I'm glad stitching helps with the pain . Have a great stitchy week.

I’m working on a non-Riolis Russian kit with the same type of pattern, it drives me crazy. Quick tip-mix up the nuts you give Geo (Gio?) cuz I’ve read that peanuts are kind of like junk food for them although the shells are great for his teeth. Unsolicited advice I know!

Hi Gerald! Have you tried using Vonna's method of stitching? I found that it does help hugely with how the stitches lie, may be worth giving it a go? 🤗

My owl kit came with the floss wound on 2 cards. Not going to use them as the wool makes my hands itch too much.

Do u use thread conditioners? Do u know anything about them? I started using an old bees wax candle I have. I’m not sure that’s a great idea.
@emmaswartz6653
@emmaswartz6653 6 лет назад
beritandjule check out Mary Corbett’s blog, as she talks about this subject, I know she wrote that if your going to use beeswax it should be 100% beeswax and unscented, and that the quality of DMC and silks shouldn’t have thread conditioner on them, the only time they should be used is in GoldWork.
