I am sooo stoked that you chose the Ramcharger for the challenge. They usually get passed over for other mainstream brands, maybe because of after market support. It's great to see that you are so excited about the RC too, these other teams seem like they are just getting a job done, I like brand passion. And hey, It has a lot of room for Rudy's groceries ( the first challenge prize will come in handy, lol ). Just narrow the front fenders and like Fred mentioned, remove the big side windows and even the lift gate. You have my vote!

Fell in love with an 89 ramcharger.... I was dieing cause I had no money to buy it.... 1 ton axels, huge transfer case, 440 4 barrel 8 miles to the gallon .... Doesn't get much better than that... You folks found a jem in the rough.... 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Had a 1974 Dodge Ramcharger for 10 years, old school model you could take the top off of. I would take it off every April and wouldn't put it back on until October. 38 years of driving and numerous vehicles owned, and that was my favorite vehicle I ever owned. Very capable off-road and a hell of a lot of fun to drive! Good choice, and good luck!

I think that your team has a significant advantage because the drivetrain is more conventional. New Process transfer cases are ubiquitous and a TF-727 is a very strong transmission. The stock diff in the front is a Dana 44, although it probably has CAD instead of locking hubs (easy to switch). The rear diff should be a 9 1/4" Chrysler. You may have gotten lucky and gotten an LSD in the rear. All in all, pretty straight forward to upgrade. Good luck in the build, I think you can easily make a cool crawler out of it.

Expanding your skills is always cool. I’d built several drag cars over the years (I’ve been doing this since 1988 when I was 15) but I’ve expanded my skills 10 fold since I started building 4x4s.

I love Ramchargers. Owned 4 square bodies, and 2 pop tops. The '80 pop top was by far my favorite. Spent years searching for another one, but had to settle with a '80 Powerwagon. It's the polar opposite, no options, other than a cargo light, and dual tanks. Went from a short wheel base to a Clubcab long box.

Misadventure. I like it.

If it has a 5.9l v8, do a 408 stroker build, monster trans rebuild, 4 in lift, 4:56s, 35s, an some selectable lockers, then plenty leftover to outfit for camping/glamping, lol, just my opinion though

I'm gonna be honest, I had my 23 ecodiesel rubicon gladiator there last week..... it did everything I wanted it to do.... it made my miss driving my 94 s10 4x4, 87 k5 blazer and 02 jeep grand cherokee..... they all required much more skill to wheel.. love this video

Rooting for you both, something about that iconic ram on the hood, guessing you'll be looking to upgrade the axles, had a 2500 v10 that had a Dana 80 rear and a Spicer 70 front for easy swap axles

I guess the wheels deflating on Rudy are alot like moss growing on a rock. The ebb and flow of a tires pressure is the circle of life. Breath in , breath out, inflate, deflate. Very Zen. it grows on you.😔😤😔🧿

I have a 84"ramcharger its my first car I bought and I have had it for 20 years at least so I'm both existed and scared to see what you will do with this beautiful car

This is a hard pick because I really want to see the Ramcharger and the S10. It's a new event to me and it'll be fun to watch the builds. The base for the Ramcharger is the best compared to the S10 and the Lexus though. Solid axles and leafs will be the way to go and you'll save money by having a rig that's already set up for that. Put it on one tons, cut fenders/narrow the front, lock it, and it'll be pretty capable and nice to camp in too.

Y’all have my vote. I want a Ramcharger so bad but for one in the same shape as yall is going for 5-10k here so it’s making it hard for me to get one :(

So torn right now! Love Rudy & Holly! The ramcarger aint bad, but since I bleed Chevy Orange, Bleepins' S-10,,, I can't decide, as long as the yota doesn't win, slim to no chance.

What to do with your budget… I’d vote for Yukon lockers (no ARBs), coil over shocks, winch and tires. What ever is left I’d spend on the engine. I wouldn’t waste money on rocker sliders or bumpers.

Remove stock quadrojet carb and put an Edelbrock. May need an adapter plate. Rods , jets and springs can be changed on the fly for altitude and power very simply.

Watching their videos. You better get their list of what you can have and not have. I know the tire has a minimum size. The fuel tank. Tool box, spare tire, tool box and space for ur equipment and food/water. Plus many spare parts (yokes, etc) . Because if you don't pass inspection, all that voting will be for not.
