This was dope! this , no shit has significantly changed my in so many ways.!!!! wish i had discovered all this in my 20’s .. im 50 but i see life completely dif now. happiness is created .. made. i watch these vids when im feeln beat up. you know what i mean. they really help .esp when ur manipulating triggers that used to lead to unhealthy habits

I feel so "helpless" when dealing with noisy obnoxious neighbors. How do you ignore noise when it's constant especially in an otherwise quiet neighborhood? Im really trying to take the stoic approach and tell myself it's all happening for a reason and there's a lesson to be taught but its hard.

@@steft7903 Funny enough I just read that my township just made previsions to the "noise complaint ordinances" Supposedly fines have increased and they will be actively enforcing them against the violators and if they are renters the owners get fined also.. Hopefully a few $500-$1500 fines should help the situation but I have the headphones as back up

Fascinating, as I watched this to see what I might learn about dealing with new recurring restaurant noise, while the local government and police look the other way. Our formally quiet location is now under assault, as is my nervous system. I say first do not pretend. If it bothers you, it's real. Other than that it's figure out how to bring about change or move.

@StationaryDingleberry im assuming as a Stoic you do what you can and exhaust all your resources.....after that I guess we must realize some things are out of our control but like I said earlier it's hard for me to find piece with that. Luckily, we still have a local government that addresses those issues. Your next course of action is to voice your opinion with your vote.

@StationaryDingleberry When I'm in these situations, I TRY to tell myself it won't last forever, and I'm dealing with it for a reason, but sometimes it's hard to figure out why. I know!

@@tomsafail In frankness, the book bored me and while it could have been a great read, it was obvious that the writer's personal politics were in play. The pacing is poor and it's not breaking any new ground. At some point, I'm hoping he stops relying on rehashing old narratives and allows himself to create something unique. But this was not it and reads more like fiction and fabrication. Having said that, he is selling you stoicism - but if you read this book, you won't stick around to buy into it.

This was an interesting video however I can't help shake it was mostly to promote yourself and offered very little to no advice about "being trapped"..... 🤔
