The Chinese gasoline burp thing is probably Shaoxing rice wine. It's a staple of many Chinese recipes.

Spears were the main weapon of the medieval world Splat, in real life, they were easier, faster, cheaper to make, and easier to use. It also carries a massive power on the tip and and even more massive range. In a duel, perhaps a spear is not the way to go, but on the battlefield, the sword was secondary to the spear afaik. I wouldnt like to be the first one in line against a spear honestly

Spears were great for shield walls but 1v1 a sword was the way to go.

@@aFewBitsShort Yea I know, I mentioend it haha I mean, technically if the spear was rather a polearm and short enough to be handled in a clouse encounter then you could use the blutn end to make some distance and srtrike with the tip as a follow up but yes, you are probably at a disadvantage if you fail. That said I do not practice HMB/HEMA

@@SBVCP most I've done is hard fantasy LARP. But when its shield wall vs shield wall, having a second row attacking with spears or thrusting polearms does work really well especially if they attack diagonally to get behind enemy shields. When you are wearing full plate including helmet it's hard to see things coming from the sides, and you're focused on the enemies in front with swords and axes so don't even see the spears coming.

Splat's commentary is the best. I really can't think of a better LPer in that regard, one of just a couple who makes "slow" games like the Long Dark or Subnautica into great LPs (as commentary has to carry those through the actionless parts).

When I first found splatt it made my brain hurt, because he was so enjoyable despite being so, so bad at the game I was watching, which is generally a deal breaker for me, but he's just got a way about him that, even when he's annoyingly missing something that seems obvious (atleast to me), he's still a blast to watch. Dudes a really cool guy, by all accounts, too; his occasional rants (or rambling tangents, really) on twitch are amazing.

Loving this series so far! Might end up picking up this title in the near future. Couldn't agree more with the "claw your way up" motto. Half of the fun is the challenge of a game!

Thanks for playing this one again. I played it a few times on a the same save - I really enjoyed the difficulty that people moan about so much but I had a hard time advancing with the character I chose - the magic build is what I normally go for but it is tough in this game! I think I will do this character just so I dont get disheartened.

That was some rewarding dungeon crawling! Nothing too spooky, but lots of loot gained! I could go either way on another episode. I know you have your Bannerlord series going currently so don't want to overload you - especially since you're quitting smoking too. Much love!

Played the *free* Prologue yesterday (Steam) : had a blast, though I had to try 6 different times to finally find a build strong enough, and have the loot luck, to easily win the last fight. The boss was not the issue: the issue was getting there with a character who can survive the minions while destroying the two (spoiler censored). Had a bit of luck too on that last attempt. - The Prologue taught me that being a jack-of-all-trades is not great: you need to be good/efficient in at least one combat style.

Hermits Hut has a backpack in it that gives you more room. Though I would like it if the game lets you buy some sort of animal companion like in dungeon siege, a pack animal wouldn't be good in a fight but could carry a lot while a fighting animal would carry less but be a more capable fighter.

In the full game you will have a caravan that travels with you so you can go there and dump loot etc.

Oooh caravan guards would be cool too. They would cost you certain amount of money per day. Especially useful so your horse or mule doesn't get ate by ghouls at night after doing a crypt

Inventory / backpack : I don't mind a bit of grit or immersive limits (like in Outwards), but it is really hard in this game to constantly need to choose what bits you will keep and the hundreds of other items you will have to leave behind. ( To balance the economy / purchasing power, they can use other limits, like less loot drop, low selling value, etc.)

My suggestion: - limit how many "big" items you can carry, like weapons, like in the current backpack grid ; - make small consumables like plants, gems, drinks, etc. take no space on the grid, though could be a limit (like no more than 10 Healing Salves).

Go to barracks u will find every type of weapon for you to choose how u wanna start your fighting style bows arrows scyth and axes and even canes and swords shield...ect

if ye want to get more space between urself and oponents in the dungeon use right click on ur dude and let him shout . Enemys in range hear it and come inspecting u can place urself on the end of an hallway and just shoot them . Shout needs multiple uses sometimes keep that in mind .

It's really good to save the level for actually being in the dungeon, since leveling up fully heals you it is advantageous to have the 2nd or 3rd kill in the dungeon be the trigger. That way if you have been hurt you can still continue.

Having infinite inventory fundamentally changes the balance of the game though. You will have way more gold and be able to buy the best gear whenever you see it. Thus reducing the very thing you said you liked about it - difficulty!

Funfact. Books dont sell for shit unless they changed that which i highly doubt. Also, there are backpacks in the game that go into your cloak slot.

I am in favor of a campfire/bedroll system : you make it limited (by time, cleared area and/or resources), but it is a good compromise to doing a whole level or area again. nb : I know there are many campfires on the map outside. So I mean a bedroll in a dungeon level once you have cleared a portion of it.

I really want to play this game, but I know after a month later they will came up with new big update and my save will be incompatible again. Before trollslayer update I had the best armor and 20k money gained from contracts. Its such a shame old saves are not working in this game.
