I’m sorry, a tiny lamp is so pretty in the kitchen, I have a corner space in my kitchen and it fits perfectly under the cabinet. It gives the kitchen just the prettiest light at night when the kitchen overhead light is off. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Absolutely agree- there's a time and place for tiny lamps. Nightstand or coffee table? No. Entrance table, bookshelf, kitchen corners? Yes. It all depends on the scale of the space.

I have to take exception with the tiny lamp comments. I think you missed the point of where they are used. Certainly NOT the end tables,etc as your examples showed, but definitely on the kitchen counter, a bookshelf, a bathroom counter, etc. They are perfect for those applications.

I have to add my "two cents" supporting "tiny" lamps. I have one that I've had for years in one of my open shelves in my kitchen, and another in one of my built-in shelves in my den. I think those are the type of spaces "tiny" lamps were created for.

I can’t fit the large lamp base for a small bedroom side table for guest space. These new homes have micro sized rooms. So I think it makes more sense to get a smaller lamp so they can still charge their phone & not knock over a massive lamp. Maybe small-medium. But anyway

I have the largest, multicolor real Persian rug in my living room. I love it! It is hand made and anchors the room with its size. I never would have thought I could afford one but found it on FB marketplace. A couple had purchased a home and it came with it. I drove as fast as I could to the next town to grab it for $200.00. They had no idea how expensive this rug is!

I love videos like this! Suggestions that help me save money? Yes, please!! However I will defend the tiny lamps. I am not saying fill your home with them. But I have a small kitchen or bathroom and a tiny lamp looks super cute and homey on the counter. A small lamp in a room to scale looks good.

Tiny lamps are great for bathroom counters and under cabinet lighting. I have a tiny lamp in our mud bench area under a cabinet. Makes for a great night light.

I really love lamps! I am a "lamp-a-holic" and I want every cool lamp I see. Lighting is very important in the home but I have come to understand that you must choose quality over quantity. Purchasing the most beautiful lamp you can afford that goes with the vibe you are trying to achieve is better than buying too many tiny lamps.

For those of us who don't have built in sconces on either side of our fireplace mantel and don't want to install the ones that you need to run a cords down the wall (and then try to hide the ugly cords, ugh), the tiny lamps you're making fun of from Target at $12 a piece are perfect for using as pairs on your mantel. The scale is perfect.

Sometimes you only have space for a tiny plant and not a big arrangement. On my desk, for eg, I prefer looking at a real tiny cactus than some plastic branches.

In Europe to reduce plastic, we buy refillable soap holders.. the bags of refill soap are 70+% less plastic than buying new bottles of soap each time.

Instead of buying a tiny lamp for my counter because I was close to doing so, I bought puck lights and stuck them under my upper cabinets. Bonus is that they're remote control & inexpensive.

I think other things to think about when making a purchase is: Do l need this, and how does it affect the environment? Can l sell this item at a later stage if l have no use for it anymore? I'm not just referring to buying at Target either.

❤ these suggestions. One thing I’ve stopped buying at Target are those metal soap pumps. I had some which were $12.99-14.99 but the pump would rust at the top and bottom and the pump was poor quality. It’s not a savings if it lasts only a few months. Another thing is disposables: paper towels, napkins, etc. I buy the real thing.

OK, here’s the best peeps story ever! A dear friend of ours was a chaplain in the army and was stationed in Baumholder Germany. This was the late 90s, he was being sent back-and-forth to Bosnia, and he was extremely overtired. The Red Cross or someone gave him several cases of peeps, and very few guys at the base wanted any. So in his wisdom, he thought he would just box them all up -I’m talking maybe 10 cases of peeps with probably 200 peeps packages in each case, anyway he sent them to my house-Thinking my eight children would love them… When we moved, about 12 years later, we finally tossed all those boxes in the dumpster. we could not give them all away… Nobody wanted them. Not even the food bank. 😂

Instead of a tiny lamp I really want a candle warmer lamp! They’re small and serve a dual purpose, little bit of ambient lighting and make the house smell better! Haven’t found one that I love or they’re out of stock :/ but that’s on my wishlist 💫 Scale is everything, took a few try’s to find the right nightstand lamps, they were not large enough, finally at Marshall’s found the perfect ones and elevated the bedroom so much.

Are you against the tiny lamp being used on the kitchen counter. I have one in my butlers pantry and when all the under counter lights go off at midnight. I love have that little bit of light in the kitchen for trip to the kitchen for water. Very cozy! Has an energy saving bulb in the lamp verses using stove light on all night.❤

I found myself agreeing with your take on all of it. I especially hate things with words or sayings on them, although the "I'm sorry" doormat is intriguing. 😁 I do have words on one of my guest towels. I found this vintage white linen hand towel with white embroidery on it saying "there ain't nothing like a dame". Since its white on white it doesn't scream words at you. I had to have it because it reminds me of when my parents took me to see South Pacific. A golden memory. Thanks for the fun video. Btw, the way Jack looks at you melts my heart. Loving adoration. ❤

Great video - I agree with all and best reasoning is to put your money towards something that has more longevity especially when you’re starting out but I think really at any age. Get your fix on seasonal stuff with fresh flowers or food (eek peeps?!) instead of items that you then need to store away and bring out each year. This point really resonates with me as I have a very small cottage with zero storage. Thanks for the chuckle over morning ☕️

I’m never offended! Ppl come for ur take on interiors so I appreciate your honest opinion. I do agree with larger lamps in most spaces. But smaller lamps in smaller spaces is a vibe. It’s about scale as you said. Little shouldn’t be default. If you have two entrances like main door and garage door or a patio or balcony, if you love something quirky you can put it in the area that only you or family see and a more classic one at the main door that guests see. I’ve done it before and I liked that much better. Again just a suggestion because sometimes a little quirkiness is a cute pick me up

I love this video and I love all your videos!!! Always great tips and advice. I found a great place for my tiny lamp though in the bar area of my butler's pantry. It provides the perfect amount of mood lighting in the evening if I am pouring a glass of wine or making a cocktail and it looks really modern in its black matte style. I use small dim lights as a nightlight where needed, so much prettier than an actual nightlight. I had no idea that they had Dr. Pepper peeps! Please have Jack look up peep -sushi. He and the kids will really enjoy it.

What are you saying? I have two tiny lamps. One is in my basement utility room. Yeah I have pot lights in there but I need just a small light to go in and work on washing up stained glass and it’s perfect while I’m working on windows. I also have one in the downstairs bathroom for my grandkids when staying over They are perfect to have something bigger than those LED night lights. This makes a cozy low light that helps them feel better while here. I would not trade those little lamps. I agree with the basket idea.
