google up an image of your back, your scapula is a muscle on there. once it starts to retract in the exercise’s motion, rear delt tension is lessened, reducing the exercise’s effectiveness

Doing heavy is good for a set or two, I do 3 sets at 100 and 2 at 130

The problem would be you’re traps take over the whole movement and you don’t get enough rear delt work.

Small tip for anyone who has the same problem (myself included): keep a slight bend in your elbows and don't lock your arm out (which is not dangerous, but recruits more triceps)

Probably because your arms are straight. Try it out with a slight bend in your elbows and see if it helps.

Still , too far back. When scap moves , then rhomboid muscle has kicked in . According to research ( forgot who by ) , slight lean forward also.

From experience I find that leaning forward allows my rear felt to activate more. Basically I go as far back as possible. But I lean forward a little. And most of all when I start to go behind my head, I do something with my shoulder so my scapula isn’t moving. I cant describe it. It’s like my shoulder rolls forward a little. Then I squeeze and contract my rear felt as much as possible.

Don’t sit on the seat then, just hover over it while supported by your feet. I have the same problem even with the seat all the way up so I ditched it. Making sure my shoulders are above my hands was a game changer.
