Hi Doc, I would like to add one exercise to this list and to me that exercise has been the single exercise that had helped me get rid to left knee pain and churning noise from my knee joint. The exercise is lying side, side leg raises/lifts. I used to do lots of reps till my gluteus medius muscles starts to fatigue. I had seen immediate results. It has helped me in getting rid of my lower back pain too.

Dr. Berg, thank you so very much for your superb advice. I started this exercise program 4 days ago, and am already noticing improvement. I have a slight disability in my right leg, so I am only doing 10 squats to start, however, I'm " good to go" on all of the other exercises. Your video explaining how asymmetric off-set works is fascinating. I began this at the same time, and both knees, especially the right, are improving. I injured both knees on separate occasions this year (slipping on ice and stairs) and everything is still tender despite months passing. I am going to try to work through these exercises. Thank you!

Amazing set of exercises Dr Berg! Another thing I’ll absolutely add to this is Side lying leg raise / clam shell ( you can find many videos if you search on RU-vid). It saved me from 2-3 years of on going knee pain. We have got to strengthen gluteus medius. It’s usually #1 reason why your knees start to wobble at first place.

@@wendi2819 Hi, if you are too weak to stand, you may want to take a look at the 'New York City Ballet' Floor barre exercises, which are done lying down. I was similar to you being pretty weak and have found them very beneficial. Good luck!

I love these exercises. I have atrophy on my right leg from an Acl tear. These exercises are easy on the joints and increased my flexibilty and stability. Thank you dr Berg!

Hi Dr Berg I suffering from arthritis and begin to have knee pain after my trip to visit Jerusalem the whole tour walked every day for hours both of my legs and feet got swollen big every night I would take a bath with hot water but it didn’t help after 12 days in April,2023 I came home and it took couple of days to get my legs and feet back to normal I’m still not all recuperated now I’m having pain in my right knee so I hope that with these stretches I get my knees back in shape thanks for sharing this information I love it🙏🌹

Hi doc. Thanks for the great information. I dislocated my right knee when I was about 11 years. Since then I always had knee problems which now turned to Osteoarthritis. I am now 62 years. Restricted movement up and down stairs. Over the years I had to deal with bone spurs which I managed. I am avoiding replacement. Recently I have developed a bone spur on the left side of my right knee which is painful when I sit and get up. Any suggestions.

Dr Berg, you’re telepathic! You describe my own situation exactly. Eight years ago, I broke my right heel bone and was on crutches 3 months, after which it took me seven years to recover normal muscle tone and strength in the right leg. Starting a couple of years ago, I became aware that my left knee joint seemed to be clicking in and out of alignment and I started getting a painful fallen arch in the left foot. I didn’t need a degree in physiology to work out what was wrong, ie imbalance and over-compensation by the left leg, so your advice is very timely.

I have also misaligned both by knees by putting weight on one leg while standing for hours after pain started in that knee I started leaning on the other knee now both got misaligned it's very painful and clicking sound comes whenever I squat. I'm in my early Twenties with painful knees.

I perform daily wall sits (squatting against a wall and holding that position), usually for 30 seconds two to three time. Following this I go for a walk. My knees feel really strong from the work my hamstrings and quadriceps were put through.

My personal experience is that hip thrusts/gluteus exercises helped me instantly and I don't have any knee pain since I do hip thrusts once a week.

Because i noticed that whenever i have increased feet pain caused by my flat feet/bunions, i also get increased knee pain. I watched your video on flat feet and bunions. Isolation exercises can create symmetry with imbalanced muscles. Usually using machines can also help to strengthen one side. Example quad extensions. Couple this with a keto anti inflammatory diet for repair is a winning combo.

Dr just starting this set of exercises. Am 77yo & left handed. Ran 10ks from age 43-65. Then thyroid fail and removal and gained 60#. Have an issue with left tibia weak& pain lack of cartilage against femur last 4 years. Noted in starting exercises right quads appear weak. Think maybe weaker right leg muscles are making left leg more dependent. Think these exercises may bring my my body back in line and strength. Thank you. Body more complicated than I thought.

Have you tried a keto diet? Maybe even carnivore. Both drastically reduce inflammation.

PLEASE research (before ANY knee surgery) about taking Vitamin D3, Magnesium and Boron and how they will help in bringing down inflammation in the body and joints, among their many other benefits. Dr. berg has LOTS of videos on these vitamin and minerals and why we need them. Just before I turned 60 years old last year, I had AWFUL left knee and right hip pains. The pains were so bad I couldn't sleep, walk, stand or sit for any length of time. I research on RU-vid to find answers to what these pains were all about. And the word that kept coming up was, "Boron". I immediately went out to buy it and that night several hours later 90 percent of the pain was GONE! The following day, after the second dosage, the pain was 100 percent COMPLETELY gone! Now I take (1) Boron 3mg daily and have had NO bad side effects at all. Also, I take 15,000 IU's of Vitamin D3 daily, (1) Magnesium Malate 425 mg daily, and (1) Boron 3mg daily. I hope this information helps you in YOUR journey to good health. 😊💖

Hi Dr. Berg, thank you for sharing regarding the knees, I have a lot of pain in my right knee, went to an Orthopedic Surgeon, He suggest a knee replacement, said I have no cartilage in that knee, I have been getting a lot of lower back pain now too, I don't really want to do the surgery, would these exercises assist, or will Keto help with getting cartilage back into my knee, or should I get a cartilage injection? Do you have advice for me? thank you so much

Hi, try to make gelee from pork skin and leg, or from beaf knee. You have to cook/simmer for 13-15 hours. Besides, do exercises, and avoid bakery products. It helps.Keto is also very beneficial to all kind of health cases.

After a diagnosis of osteoarthritis and then a torn meniscus I was in constant pain with my knees. I did keto for 2 years and lost 100lbs and I am now starting a body strengthening exercise regime to get rid of the last remnants of pain and get better mobility. Before keto my mindset abd headrace was just constant anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts so I would not have found the idea of exercise even remotely plausible but now I am looking forward to toning up and looking better not just feeling better. :)

I really wish more ppl knew about this. I too, sometimes get pain in my knees if I take a long hiatus from weight training. One session of deadlifts, next day, knee pains are gone.

thank you Dr for all these explanations to strengthen the thigh I had a skiing accident on January 15 with a fracture in 4 fragment of the trochanter so I had the gama nail up to the knee everything is well consolidated but the thigh the quadriceps remains weak because I had to immobilize pandant 6 weeks it's true that your exercises are more effective than using fitness machines what my cause is pain in my knees on the side of the fracture thanks again

These are awesome. I had a brain injury that had half of my body unresponsive for about a year. I did physical therapy, but I was never educated on how to heal properly. Both knees have hurt for so long and the legs are consequently so inflexible that just LOOKING at these exercise demonstrations makes my legs hurt. But I'll do them - perhaps modifying them initially, but I can get there.

Thank you Dr Berg. It's been 2 weeks since my both knees are very very painfull, i can't sit and walk for more than 10 minutes, the pain is not letting me sleep at night. Just did these exercises and feel a bit relieved .

Dr berg i have a question for you; why ice pack or cold seems to agrevate the pain but the heat works perfect ? When there's a flow of blood with heat makes more sense than blood get cut out from circulating with ice . When your extremities are cold it means blood doesn't get to them with poor circulation. Knowing that the blood runs to the part of the body to fix the proble🤷‍♀️ I'm not a Dr but to me it makes sense

The Japanese seat (Seiza) is also a very good position for stretching your knees (see Wiki). Stretch for 2 min. Also, use a fascia roll and slowly roll your leg from heel to hip (roll all sides). The pain receptors are located in the fascia tissue.
