Every day, when I'm working on games, I worry greatly that the level of quality I'm able put into them won't be enough to justify a public release. Games like these remind me that other people making games really, really, really, really do not have that same worry.
imagine making a game so bad that charlie, a person who plays bad games for like an hour-ish or more and has the ability to refund but doesn't, refunds your game after playing for 5 minutes
You can't help but find it amusing when Charlie deliberately looks for the buggiest, shittiest and half assed games on Steam and somehow makes it entertaining to watch
@@phobosanomaly5383 Well horror games usually have a story. Most of them usually have inventory management of some sort. Of course im kidding I know its an rpg and what really makes it that is quests and the "choices" (choices not always being very many)
Any game is phenomenal if Charlie is playing it. Charlie has this special ability to take any piece of media and transform it into the most entertaining piece of art ever seen.
Sometimes i feel like "How could I ever publish a game? There's no way I could ever make anything worthy of money" But when Charlie plays these.. puts shit into perspective
I mean your goal should be to make the game enjoyable above all else really. Often bad games seem to focus on either the story, graphics, making complicated game mechanics in an attempt to stand out, or simply trying to pull in new players and make a quick buck rather than make the game fun
@@EpicBoss- Forgetting that a game is supposed to be fun is a mistake I made in a few scrapped projects. It's easy to assume fun will just happen if you like a game idea enough. With these games though, it feels much more like intentionally cutting corners
Ethereal Snake got matthew mcconaughey and christian bale to be in his animated short Goofy Never Came Back (about Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck in Vietnam and the horrors therein) through sites like cameo I highly recommend that video if you get a chance to see it.
@@killaken2000 no he didn’t? meatcanyon and other ppl did the voice acting (great series tho) edit: I was thinking of the wrong. He actually paid a dude on fiver to impersonate the actors u mentioned
I'd take any day eating a 24.99$ pizza wing combo, over spending 25$ to unironically play Digitizer. The comedic value not sure if it offsets the price lol
@@user-10021 I understand that's your experience, but let's not stomp over someone else's aspirations by implying our personal takes are any sort of consensus. :)
these are mostly bought unity store assets just plastered, id say what you were saying if they just used capsules and actually made an interesting game thats programmed by themselves
As much as we try to deny it the first game is what we all needed to see to open our eyes to the true nature of the world and what it will become. Truly a masterful and poetic work of art.
Okay, so, at least that first one shows a little bit of effort. It's not like the person just got a bunch of random assets and slapped them together to make something mediocre, like Digital Homicide. No, it feels like the person who made it was being earnest, except they had no knowledge at all of how to actually make a game, so it ended up being a mess. An earnest mess, but not one without a heart behind it.
I've been considering trying my hand at Indie development, but I was worried about the quality of what I could put out, Charlie is out here showing me that I can for sure make something worth putting on Steam.
If you are ever scared think of the people who worked hard like u will soon . The developers of undertale and stardew valley for example, you can accomplish amazing things as long as you work hard. Good luck dude.
People, please stop making these games, it ruins every other game due to them not being able to compete with the “out of this world” quality of these games.
I mean these are a nice effort for a middleschool programming competition where everyone stares in awe how this guy could make a game alone while they're recording themselves ripping eachothers pants off in the toilet for TikTok clout. But I still wouldn't play them if they gave them away for free.
"We might just switch games this is getting fucking boring" Says Charlie with 15 minutes left to the video. Truly the most dedicated streamer of All Time.
That is the first one in the series to have voice acting. If I remember correctly the third one that was a single player story. Second time Lydia was the story character. It is a jank series and I believe that one even says to "Embrace the cheese." Probably going for original RE voice acting. They are jank but I can't help but love them.
The Drained Goddess one just looks like the person(s) making it didn't have enough time/experience to properly execute their vision. I'm positive if they tried something simpler/smaller they'd do a good job.
"It was the last nail in the coffin of capitalism" "Technology that was once a hope for a better future has become the weapon of a few rich" I'm getting mix messages here... 🤨 How can there be rich people controlling society if capitalism is gone? Are they royalty instead? How does that work?
I guess private ownership just disappeared, and the rich became the government. So I think you’re right that it’s some kind of feudalism. But it’s a shitty game so maybe they just didn’t care
You seriously don't understand it wouldn't be a real threat therefore it wouldn't scare him at all? Like think about it if ghosts really haunted Charlie do you think like a game he'd walk up and call it a P*ssy? No because real life and video games are entirely different nothing on a game would scare Charlie as he can separate real from fake how do you seriously not understand this???
15:46 I think I might know what program you are talking about. I don’t remember what it was called, but it had like a weird green monster you can spawn in, or even a car or a human model. You could even build surreal looking levels and stuff.. I’m sure there were a lot of things like that, but my brother and I were trying to remember what that one specifically was called…
@@cambreaKer I just found it! The one I played with was Cyberix3D. It was very surreal. Thank you though, I wouldn’t have found it if I didn’t search, 3d game maker or FPS creator.
@Savetion (KING OF YT) Bad bait bot, but I know some read responses, but I'm not clicking and leaving any likes, or comments. I simply don't have a damn to give.
