You should try the FF Black. It’s fantastic - hides all existing rust and makes the vehicle look brand new when you’re done. Also - you can easily see where you’ve already sprayed and where you’ve missed. Great product.

nice job! well worth it.. I live in WNY and can attest to the value of applying FF, etc. I have gone to Corrosion free RUST CURE FORMULA 3000. Supposed to last longer.. Any product like these is better than that horrible rust.. Thanks for sharing

Never heard of Rust Cure. The only reason I use FF is because I can get it at NAPA locally.

Thanks for the video! I will be doing this myself next month. Since I don't have a lift, it's nice to see a video using a ramp. One question for you: how much, if any, do you spray on the engine from underneath? Can't seem to find comments on this anywhere. Thanks!!
@QuickSpeedShop
@QuickSpeedShop 20 дней назад
I tried to spray the oil pans before, but the engine gets too hot and it melts off. I spray under the hood everywhere except on the engine or exhaust itself.

The fluid film won’t dry out or anything from the hole in the lid right? It says on the label that it should be sealed when in storage is that actually important or will it just need to be stirred again when I want to use it? Thanks

I haven't had it dry out. I stir it up before use.

Hey I use this spray gun it’s good but the hoses have tendency to fall off There stuck on the fitting but not locked in
@QuickSpeedShop
@QuickSpeedShop 9 месяцев назад
The FF makes the plastic soft after a while. I just trim 1/4" off the hose when it gets soft and then the hose stays tight on the fitting.

Is it true that the FF that comes in aerosol cans is less effective because it’s thinned so that it can be sprayed using the aerosol cans? Also, can you just paint this stuff on if you don’t have or want to invest in this setup?
@QuickSpeedShop
@QuickSpeedShop 19 дней назад
No and yes. The aerosol cans are too expensive for the amount they cover. You can easily apply FF with a brush

He actually traded it in on another truck before I could do one. Check out my Rust Prevention playlist. I did a 4 year comparison between two identical 2016 Chevy trucks, one sprayed ever year, one not. I can tell you now, 7 years later, the sprayed truck is still rust free. The untreated one is completely rusted on the frame and has holes in the rear wheel wells already.

That greasy film must make it horrible when you have to work on a car sprayed with that stuff. I guess it’s either that or have a rusted out car within three to five years. I wish they could come up with a product besides salt to spread on icy roads for you guys in the northern climates. It’s ridiculous for y’all to have to deal with that. Is FF fire resistant?
@QuickSpeedShop
@QuickSpeedShop 10 месяцев назад
I'll take greasy mess over rust any day. FF is just basically liquid wax. I'm sure at high enough temperatures it would burn. It smokes/melts off exhaust components.

Hey Hotrodford: You should be thankful to work on a Fluid Film / Wool Wax / Surface shield vehicle! All the nuts and bolts will unscrew when you needed it. Not sure what has you all perplexed?!? I'll take that anytime over a crusty, rotted mess that shit breaks when you just touch it.

Nice video but can't understand why people are still using Fluid Film when Surface Shield doesnt wash away in high spray areas like Fluid Film does .
@QuickSpeedShop
@QuickSpeedShop 6 месяцев назад
SS is $100 more than FF. I respray everything every fall with FF, so the washoff isn't really an issue.

@@QuickSpeedShop not knocking you or looking to argue but that's like saying 2 10k cars that last 1 year is cheaper than a 20k car lasting 3 years .

I've sprayed SS for people that wanted it as well. I did a test on one car, sprayed FF on the one side and SS on the other. After a year it was hard to tell the difference. Both sides had some washoff and both sides still had residue. Is SS better, probably because it seems to have some petroleum in it. Will either work great when replied every year? Yes.
