I explain an error with the verb "sentire" which is often made by people learning Italian as a second language. If Italian is not your native language, in all likelihood you also have trouble understanding the difference between the verb "sentire" and "ascoltare". What's the difference between "sentire" and "ascoltare"? Are these two Italian verbs synonyms? Chances are, you often use the verb "sentire" in place of the verb "ascoltare", and think they are interchangeable. That's not the case, though.
Stop saying "ti sento"!
Let's take the sentence: "Grazie per i tuoi podcast. Ti sento dagli Stati Uniti".
In this sentence there's an error related to the verb "sentire".
In this sentence, in fact, it would be preferable to use the verb "ascoltare".
"Grazie per i tuoi podcast. Ti ascolto dagli Stati Uniti"
I'd say that this is not a serious mistake, but in this sentence it would be better to use the verb "ascoltare".
