I'm sorry but this is the clearest satire i've ever seen and it's great. Dude literally has like hentai on one of his monitors while his mom makes him minion sandwitches
seriously i think he might be the only person that isnt in on this bit its kind of annoying watching this and seeing him be like "no way this is real" like it obviously isnt lmao you maybe the only one who believes its real
agree, the bathtub water looking like pee and the tissues on the bed stand when she said he must be sick, or the watching dream in vr made it clearly a joke (to me)
@@snufkinnie5804 what about this makes you think it's undeniably fake? They literally own all this minion stuff, gamer stuff, the prime, etc. If this wasn't real, they would have to be so unbelievably dedicated to the joke that they need mental help, or they're doing it for money. I don't know anyone and I can't think of anyone that would ever go this far for an on going joke that isn't even made obvious that it's a joke. Satire is supposed to be obvious that you're making fun of something. This just looks like weird obsessed minion people with an overbearing mom and strange son.
As an Aussie. She seems like they both are taking the piss. There's no way he wouldn't be getting bullied at school. But in Australia he can leave school at like 16-17 so he might not even be at school.
He's only 18, not sure but if he happens to be on the spectrum, it's very normal to be obsessed with something for a period of time, then they move on to something else. Not sure that that is happening here but having 2 boys on the spectrum, I've dealt with this before lol
I was going to say this, I have 2 boys on the spectrum and they are both similar to this, they would probably be worse if I allowed it but I couldn’t handle an entire Pokémon house😅
That’s what I was thinking. I swear I read that at least one of them is autistic but this is still excessive if it’s not a joke lol, and I’m saying that as someone who’s also on the spectrum
everyone hates the minions. It's just a thing we as humans have in common. Every parent everywhere cried when that monstrosity was brought into existence and it's only kids who will grow up into people who are just "off" actually like it.
As a fellow Australiani will say, the one thing we assies are collectively very good at is gasslighting people outside of our country. We gaslight about the drop bears, riding roos and we pressuring just about every celebrity's in into doing a shoey.
every thing you said is just incorect and its incrediby fucked up that you can sit there and type saying drop bears arent real as if you want someone to fall victim to there brutal kilings we dont gaslight celibritys ito doing shoes neither
@@lilIAN97huh i think it all depends what for, bullying someone for being a weirdo go for it, bullying someone because of what they look like and can’t control is just mean
i feel like the son is doing it all for the bit and likes minions ironically and just keeps collecting more and more minion related things and if so i think it is very funny indeed. its like wearing emoji clothes, but knowing how bad it is so its actually really cool and silly
idk i get the vibes that he's on the spectrum and his mom is just doing her best to support him. she shows interest in his hyperfixations/special interests, she helps cater to his potential sensory issues by cooking meals she knows he'll eat. gaming could be an outlet for him to connect with people easier bc socializing while being autistic is very difficult (speaking from experience) and the mom might just want to try and encourage it if it helps him. a lot of the time people who go viral on the internet for being 'weird' or 'different' just end up being autistic and the way people react to it really shows off their own internalized ableism; for example saying that 'bullying needs to come back' so that kids will be 'normal' again.
But even if he is on the spectrum in my opinion it isn’t good to allow everything and enable everything . I myself are on the spectrum and I can with a lot of confidence say that if everything I had to go through didn’t happen and my life would have been in a bubble i would absolutely not be where I am today mentally. So yes helping and encouraging his hyper fixations is good and supportive but there are definitely also things you can go to far with lol
Idk I get the vibes of minions specifically being a special interest. I think this mom goes out of her way to really infantilize her son, but I also know the people talking about him being alone forever/deserving of being bullied are disgusting pieces of shit id never wanna interact with anyways. Lot of people HELLA jealous that he has support, even if in this case its a negative thing
I had this same thought. Could very well be a joke orchestrated by the mom and/or son (leaning more towards that possibility after seeing the whole video now), but it really reads like a special interest. Minions are one of my sister’s special interests and having plushies and shirts and whatnot related to them make her so happy. She’s 29 and is completely supported in what she enjoys by I and the whole family, and it would break my heart if someone made her feel bad for just wearing stuff and doing things that make her happy, even if it’s not “age appropriate” for a neurotypical person. Idk, just seems harmless and weird to get genuinely mean about. Anti-minion memes are funny, but I think people go too far when they target and make fun of specific people rather than just generalized meme stuff.
I don’t think they’re saying the kids deserving of being bullied, they’re just stating the fact that not only will the kid be bullied, but according to the mom he already WAS being bullied for it. Part of being a parent is using the experiences you’ve had to protect your kids, and the mom should know that posting a video of her kid in his underwear with chips on him and talking to a VR girlfriend is going to most likely get him bullied.
@@miloc6622 ...it was revealed that they (the boy and his brother) are music producers and this was all a gimmick, i cant believe people are actually confused/believe this still?
Tbh, I don’t like how much she spoils him. But at the same time, there is nothing wrong with liking cartoon character and fictional stuff. like I collect dolls and stuffed animals, watch cartoons and play video games, but im 22 years of age.
Probably not to the extent where he does. It's fine to like stuff that kids also like but the link between the mothers infantalisation of him and his clear obsession with characters made for kids is uncanny
@@23lano he kept saying “ you’re a grown man “ to everything that has to do with this man’s liking of the minion, down to the shoes, like it’s kinda unnecessary lol
same but im 27 yolo imo the mum is loving and supportive and using her platform to encourage him- who says you can't have all the silly things that make you happy in your home but also be independent life is short have fun my dudes
I can relate to not liking the taste of plain water, but there are flavored water bottles that are like $0.70 each, or just little dropper things to flavor it yourself. They have to be faking it, because it is the most expensive and annoying way to solve that problem
@@berkeleycreager3601 you’re better off giving your kid Prime over Kool Aid and Tang. Might as well just shovel spoonfuls of sugar into their mouths 🤦🏻♂️
I’ve wanted you to cover this for ages, I saw her content all the way back in 2020, I’m so glad she’s finally being covered, she’s not a “bad parent” but different gonna be an interesting case study in 15 years when he’s moved outta home. Also as an australian, the only thing I can say is that the shoes being stolen is probably real, I’ve had shoes look worse then that and be robbed for them, pretty common place to be rolled for ur shoes
If it's real, I think it's okay for him to be obsessed with minions, mostly because I'm neurodivergent and I hyperfixate easy on fictional stories. I do think the mom's a problem but loving minions isn't something that he should "grow up" out of. But if it isn't real then man does he commit to the minion bit, very impressive. But that obsession over them is giving neurodivergent vibes and he should definitely be allowed to publicly love it without getting bullied.
i agree, im autistic too and have special interests and all. im 21 and work in ABA services. this level of dependence and indulgence is bad. very bad. this kid is never going to learn independence. at all! he can have his minion bed, but unfortunately something like the bath is not ok. the ipad + 500 other stims is so…. unnecessary. you should NOT be stimulating an autistic person 24/7 to keep them passive. its kind of fucked up and robs them of learning and independence. this kid doesnt drink water from the kitchen or clean his room
How did you just gloss over the "not feeling well over night" moment in the video where she pans past a side table filled with crumbled tissue and a bottle of lotion. This is 100% an act
As far as fandom goes, I think some folks never grow out of it. I'm 37 and one of the biggest Pokemon fans around. When people say something to the effect of you're too old for that, I just laugh
Gunnar got Wooshed, it’s a bit, the kid doesn’t actually like minions that much. The mum and son just have a really healthy and fun relationship, they’re playing a joke on everyone. It’s a bit
It’s a pretty fucked up joke then, she’s publicly at the least MAKING her kid look like somebody who’s going to be bullied. To his classmates it probably doesn’t matter if it’s a bit, all they saw was a bunch of minions and a VR girlfriend, somebody is gonna think it’s real and bully the kid, that’s the fucked up part I think everybody can realize it’s probably satire, the problem is to bullies it will not matter, he has a target painted on him if literally any insecure dick near his age sees ANY of that
@@Madly_Zen im pretty sure the son wouldnt be doing it if this was actually happening. Go take your meds and log off for a bit bc this fanfic is crazy
@@teratsukielizabeth543 you think a son wouldn’t play along with his moms dumb joke even at the expense to himself? Dude that happens literally all the time. There’s plenty of kids who just don’t talk about their issues with their parents. Like I said, he may not be bullied, but making your kid seem like that much of a classical “loser” online to a not small amount of people is some wild behavior for a parent. Also I am currently in the hospital so I’ll give you the “take your meds” Line lol, that’s funny timing.
@@Madly_Zen He’s IN on the joke tho, it’s not her making the joke, it’s BOTH of them. Haven’t you ever made a self deprecating joke before? This would only be fucked up if this was her idea and she made him do it, clearly they are both in on it together. i know plenty of zoomers with this same humour that would think this guy is instantly super cool for being such a memer, only folk like you that take it so seriously
10:31 I understand that the obsession with the minions may seem "immature" but as a neurodivergent person I immediately think about other how me and other neurodivergent people usually have special interests that seem like obsessions. It's extremely normal for neurodivergent people to have special interest that may seem childish. It's not bad too love and collect "childish things" if it genuinely brings personal joy.
We can talk about how the mom treats him and all that, but hearing "you gotta grow up" to what is seeming like a special interest is not fun to hear. I'm autistic and have heard that most of my life. Is minions a cringey special interest to me? Yeah, but who cares? I dunno, it could all be fake and the minions stuff is played up, but regardless, not vibing with the "you need to grow up" or chat saying he needs help. Cause regardless of whether the kid is neurodivergent or not, we genuinely do get told that a lot. Weird, strange, unusual special interests are fine. Yes it can go too far and the mom is def spoiling, but that's a separate convo. Just saying as someone that has been told that kind of stuff and shamed for my hyperfixations and special interests for years. Neurodivergent and especially autistic folks hear that stuff a lot. And since I'm autistic, I also can't fully tell the tone of it. Regardless of whether these tiktoks are exaggerated or satire or real, that stuff being said to ND folks is VERY real. /gen Edit: And adding more. For plenty of autistic folks like myself, things aimed at children can be very appealing to us. Not every autistic person is this way as it's a spectrum, but my friend and I are certainly this way. Especially since a lot of autistic folks also end up traumatized. It has nothing to do with maturity. And a lot of autistic folks will be othered without even understanding why. No matter what we do to mask, we will not fit in. So it doesn't matter if we try to hide our special interests for the sake of being perceived as mature. While a bit excessive, it's also not uncommon for many autistic folks to have this sort of interest with things besides minions including more "acceptable" special interests. It doesn't make sense to me, but it isn't supposed to. I find the yellow hideous and gaudy, but it doesnt matter. Cause it isn't for me. Who cares about appealing to what people think of us? We are by default the "odd ones out" and will be looked down upon without even realizing. We are bullied even as adults in the work place. So if bro wants to enjoy minions and have a house filled with it, go off. And if it's satire or played up or ironic, who cares? Just the stuff being said frustrates me because these are the exact kind of expectations and bs that is spewed at autistic folks every single day regardless of whether this kid is on the spectrum or not. I have heard this so much even when I was a child. Let people enjoy things even if it's weird, let people enjoy things as long as it's not hurting anyone. I'm all for poking fun, but this got very real and it echoes things I've seen many many many times and experienced many many many times myself.
When I was but a weee boy my dad used to take away my mouse so I just learned how to do EVERYTHING with keyboard commands. pretty handy skill tbh, thanks dad!
Listen though - I do have to say that there is a chance that this is real, and if it is, this kid might be on the spectrum. That could explain the hyper focus on a specific interest, like gaming and minions.
I like that he seems to be going crazier and crazier with the conspiracy that they're doing it on purpose, we all know that they're not, BUT IF THEY WERE DOING IT ON PURPOSE, I'd gaslight him
i’m 19 and i love minions. they came out during my childhood after all so a lot of it is nostalgia. i have a crochet bucket hat my sister made me that looks like a minion and i cosplayed to the rise of gru premiere. but you can’t just act like that on the internet and expect people to think you’re normal and mature 😂
I think the mom is obsessed with Minions and just pushing it on her son. Notice how she points it out every time and I think he just let's her do it. My mom did that for a few years where she kept buying Hello Kitty for me. I had to keep telling her to not buy me that stuff. Eventually she learned not to do it.
hey so i kinda just scrubbed through this one because the whole discourse around this video is kind of upsetting to me, but both of her kids are autistic. (i am as well.) the younger son is 14, older is 18. when you're on the spectrum, it's not uncommon to present as a bit immature, struggle with things like hygiene and self care, have very specific sensory needs when it comes to food/water, and collecting things relating to your special interests. it's really sad to me that this lady is going out of her way to be so kind and supportive in a way that i can only wish my parents were, and people are like ... really disgusted by that for some reason lmao ?? i don't blame you gunnar, since the reaction has been so dramatic and for some reason tiktok thinks anything they don't understand immediately must be a satire piece for some reason - i just wanted to put it out there. the one thing i will agree with is that some of these struggles are things i'd prefer to be private if it were me. the mom is kinda presenting her kids to be misunderstood this way ... but i honestly still think the responsibility should be on the audience to maybe like ? be normal and think about why something is the way it is before jumping to some of the incredibly weird conclusions i've already seen in this comment section ??
@@rubyrue69 when the original video blew up on Twitter, I found a lot of people in the replies who had been following before everything and said that they are both autistic and that the mom has spoken about their diagnosis in the past. I wish I had a link to an actual post or smth to give since I get me being like “source: trust me bro” is kinda silly, but already was thinking it the first time I saw the prime vid ngl. from what I’ve observed in the rest of these clips, I 1000% would agree they’re autistic / see no reason to doubt that.
@@eggyonline5308 i guess thats fair, i guess it's just cause i've seen so many ppl on tiktok doing things with the intent to mock autistic people i thought this family was just doing the same thing :[
Maybe it's just me, but is this not giving out "special needs" vibes? The level of obsession over the minions definately feels like something indicative of someone on the spectrum. Now, the mom is still ABSOLUTELY enabling here, special needs or not this is a different level, but I still get those vibes.
@@whatever3145 To be fair, he isn't the one posting the videos, people never seen if hes even alive. That being said, if he is, then yeah, everyone who's enabling this is to blame. Even if it is "special needs" this is the worst way to treat "special needs" children
This has to be satire, just toss it on the list of like 20% of all internet based accounts that exist to troll the other 80%. Well for attention at least because it’s an easy way to get views. Why they picked minions, we know why, cuz they’re absurd lol
@@monhi64 I don't think this is full-on satire ngl. They're DEFINITELY doing it for views, yeah, but this kid DEFINITELY likes it a lot. The minions stuff I get, but some details, like the Makoto (Persona 5) bodypillow seem WAAAY TO SPECIFIC to not be real...that boy definitely is, and already was, spoiled before content, and the content was just another reason to do it even more....
i don’t think she should be spoiling him so much, but she’s just trying to make him happy (even tho i despise that she’s putting it online). especially if he’s made been fun of for a lot of his life. i’m 20 and love collecting stuffed animals and porcelain dolls that could easily be clocked as childish, but i can’t help they bring me comfort. i’m autistic and have special interests that could be considered extreme, and he screams special interest autistic lmao.
Me: shocked that he had his first drink at 18 ( so late ) The chat: shocked that he had his first drink at 18 ( so early ) My stupid ass forgetting that it is not normal to be allowed to drink some alcohol at 16
There's no issue with _liking_ Minions. This is _so far past_ just "liking" something. This is worrying levels of obsession. Or at least it would be, if this was real. You know how I know this is fake? That kid would be SO FUCKING OVERWEIGHT if this was real. Zero exercise, DOESN'T DRINK WATER, drinks fucking sugary as hell energy drink all day? Yeah that kid's going to be 200+ lbs when he hits 18. I did not have healthy habits as a kid, and not even NEARLY to this level, and I still wound up overweight.
honestly y’all i can guarantee this kid is on the autism spectrum and that minions are just his special interest. same thing with the overly complex gaming setups, the prime obsession, etc. they’re all probably things that bring him a sense of routine and comfort so i think the mom is doing a good job for helping him move through life comfortably and happily. i really don’t think it’s fake at all.
I’m pretty sure she released a video about how her son is on the spectrum after the backlash she got for the prime one. She def is babying him but I think his minion obsession isn’t a big deal
Trips for water are important and if she filled it w water it would be great bc how many times do ppl let themselves get dehydrated bc theyre focused. Im not a gamer and i already do that
I think the kid has a special interest EDIT: kept watching... this merch is too expensive for a bit. If you go back before lockdown, do they still have this same energy?
The march isn’t that expensive at all, it’s all a bit. For instance the car part, it’s not a minion car, it’s just a yellow mini, a member of his family or mums friend would have already had one and he’s just out some minon toys inside it You have all been wooshed, it’s a mother son joke, they’re both playing a joke on all of you
I feel like it could be a special interest of the kid being on the spectrum. Im on the spectrum and if i could spend all my money on cosplay, minecraft, or genshin(some of my special interests) and have a ton of stuff like this, i sososo would
The kid that ur talking about is actually a chill dude. My mate goes to his school and he is normal they just do it for a joke, but poor mate gets bullied hard
