Your point is true. But it’s arguable being Elderly is vital only from the fact that they arent durable at that age. This was definitely life threatening. Ive seen scum kill some elderly folk from just pushing them!

The age disparity is relevant in that it justifies the use of the knife to overcome the physical advantage the young thug brought to the threat.

Unfortunately, if the elderly man declines to have a jury out of fear the DA absolutely could get a conviction with the right judge. And even if he doesn’t get a conviction the DA has financially ruined this man’s life. He probably already had to put his house down as collateral for his bail money or got a second mortgage. And he’ll have to pay for his defense attorney. He’s still working at his age so probably isn’t financially privileged. This will destroy his retirement and he will likely end up in the care of the state.

This is the result of a woke DA who let's criminals walk after committing actual crimes, and then locks up innocent victims just trying to survive! Unbelievable..........
