Duncan and I explore the River Stour flooding which resulted from the heavy rain associated with Storm Babet.
I am not a qualified flying instructor nor do I ever claim to be a very good pilot. I fly for fun and basically record for my own interest and review but upload because a number of people suggested that I should. I do try to edit for enjoyment and story telling and this means that some content is not always included.
Music - All from the RU-vid Sound Library
Camera:
Front facing and panel mounted - Go Pro Hero 4 filming at 1080 wide @ 30fps - wide
Rear facing camera - Go Pro Hero 3+ filming at 1080 wide @ 30fps

We’ve just returned to Australia having spent 3 weeks timed between storms Ciaran and Debi . We evacuated our place at Bewdley when the river reached 4.6 M , fortunately on return we hadn’t been impacted . We had torrential rain here in Sydney last night , it seems to follow us around . Johns aeroplane looks very smart , and hopefully he gets a lot of enjoyment and pleasure flying it around in times ahead . Thanks Tim for sharing this video , it was informative and enjoyable as always .

Great to see the wingtip camera back in use. Depressing looking at all those flooded fields, the strips are definitely out for the time being although Nayland looks OK.

You are right Terry, we are not too bad at Nayland but there are lots which are waterlogged.

Looks just like it is still by us, with all the flooding, North West Norfolk looks bone dry in comarision but is still boggy and soft under foot, thankfully Northrepps drains well. Great to see John flying.

Thanks Algy. The house build is taking up a lot of time and restricting the flying, along with the weather.

@@JodelFlyerthe weather is reducing flying but increasing the aeroplane building 🙂

Interesting and shocking, must be scary for a lot of the UK population. That weather plus those politicians... Congratulations to John; wishing him many happy hours in his new aeroplane.

Those floods must be interesting for a geographer such as yourself. Not just the physical geography but the built environment aspect. Quite a contrast to the droughts in the past two Summers. John's Zenair looks a lot better now it has had a good polish and some extra attention. That blue paint almost looks like it has a sparkle to it. I know you've been busy with the extension, so thanks for making this video.

I couldn’t resist turning quickly and keeping low to look at and film the floods around the village. You are right, the Zenair is a sort of metallic blue.

I used to fly in a 1050 every weekend with my father as a child. It looks much smaller than I remember. Now 30 years on he's still flying with me in our Robin 200.

Glad to see Jon is in the air, I would like to know why he chose the 601 and what is he using for a power plant. Did he build the Zenith? I wouldn't worry about the Village People, they can always go to the YMCA. Cheers mate!

I am sure the village people were fine 🤣 John bought the Zenair with some of the insurance money. It is powered by a Continental 0200 (just like mine in the Jodel)

Hi Tim, great video as usual. Its great to follow your track. As you are using Sky Demon is it possible for you to put the SD flight track either at the start or the end of the video? Safe flying.

I do tend to show the longer flights but this was very local but for a reason but I will try in future. We are using SkyDemon and have done for many years. Thanks for watching

Nice Vlog Tim! Can't wait to bring Dusty into Nayland. Have you had a 182 in there before?
@JodelFlyer

I am not sure about a 182 but we have had other larger Cessna types.
