What does her being black have anything to do with it? Im not some dildo who is into racial identity politics at all. She is a friggin omega level mutant regardless of her skin colour. Its okay for black, red, yellow, white, and brown people to save the world. At the end of the day, they are all humans.

Extreme cold on the human/mutant body is a element that can kill. Storm didn't attempt to kill here, she made it cold enough to set the telepath off balance mentally. Extreme cold to the body and electrical shock are telepaths worst enemy. I'm glad the movie at least did show this. This was also the wits of Ororo in the comics. She knows her opponents and without hesitation, she knew exactly what to do in that moment because Jean was unable. Not that Jean couldn't step in mentally and stop Jason but she didn't trust herself due to the Phoenix inside her. She would've been scared of going to far to even kill the Professor. X2 was one of the best in the series. I wanted more of Storm, flying and good tactical battle scenes but it did what it did.

Ngl, I always felt bad for Jason. His father treated him terribly. He was just a kid and upset when using his illusions on his parents. Then he’s frozen by his father and then lobotomized to kill all mutants. I’d like to think in another timeline/life he stays at Professor X’s school and becomes a X-Men.

Movie magneto seems limited to crude attacks with the metal in his environment, but movie storm is a jobber. So I don't know. In comics, they are both so OP that it's just whoever the writer wants to win. Like, Ironman beat Magneto in their last fight.

I’m sorry, but Mystique was Mystique-ing! Damn, even here, at the beginning, she said nothing, and I FELT her presence. This was Mystique and she was intimidating AF. Rebecca Romijn was incredible. It’s a shame they tried to bank on Jennifer Lawrence’s popularity and sacrificed the perfect actress.

Yes, the humans that died because they are the weakest (elders, babies, sick ones) is never addressed, either that is a plot hole or maybe the writers wanted to focus on the delicate situation of humans and mutants regarding a possible war

What I hate about this scene .. is they act like no one dies. How many cars plowed into others in traffic. How many planes went into spins with pilots bent over in pain. 2 minutes of intense pain for all humanity?? How many people fell off construction projects? How many fires started that could not be put out before they got worse? The death toll from this would be beyond belief! And it would trigger an anti-mutant hate and anger that could not be ended. Ever.

that's why rebecca romijn will always be a better mystique than lawrence. she (rebecca) has the broad shoulders which make her imposing, but she also has those curves and long legs (that jennifier doesn't) which still makes her sexy.

Tbh they connect cause he has mercy and she has wrath. And it draws on each other cause you would agree he looks like a demon in how we perceive them and he still pities humans and she is the personification of nature in that she can go from a sunny day to a stormy one.

Only mutants like Toad, Juggernaut, Wolverine, Sabertooth, Beast make sense as mutants. Mutations just giving extraordinary abilities still within the bounds of what would be considered a "mutation". Storm controlling weather? How? Does she release pheromones in the air? How does she change the barometric pressure? Magneto just begins to metal bend...those are not mutants. Those are god damn wizards.

I have a headcannon that, as part of evolution, the Earth itself starts providing mankind with abilities to connect with it and manipulate it at will, so they can have a more direct impact on it. This could be a "Planet's last resort" to save itself, cause Storms powers could literally end world hunger and thirst if she applied it properly

Why wasn’t Professor Xavier affected by the cold? Weren’t they all in the same room? And I doubt Storm could control who did and didn’t feel the cold because poor Nightcrawler was freezing his little blue ass off lol.

So, the professor wasn't affected by Storm's extreme cold? Nightcrawler was down on his knees in seconds and Jason couldn't keep his illusions going because of it, but the professor seemd almost unaffected. I understand why Storm wouldn't be affected by her own power (although it does beg the question if she's immune to all cold, or just cold that she generates herself?), but how come the good Prof didn't get a touch of that frostbite?
