Well this took a little over a week. I really liked this song, but I wanted to see if I could do this song in my own way than how to movie did it. It was a fun experiment and really good practice! pdqsketch.tumblr.com
This definitely captures a stronger emotion than the live action version, and still lets him feel depressed and resigned so it flows into the finale. This song is otherwise too hopeful and invigorating to match his misery when we see him next.
This is the best version of this sequence I have ever seen! Not only does it have great characterization, the beast frantically trying to get one last look at Belle, but matches the tone of the song with the beast at his lowest point and whether he likes it or not he is still gonna have hope that she will return to him. A-friggan-+.
Honestly, i think you gave this scene that extra bit of life it needed. Don't get me wrong, the song is really good, but man was the way it was staged boring! I wanted to see moments of him longing for Belle only to remember again that she's leaving. I wanted to see him climbing the castle to get a better view Quasimodo style. I wanted that extra bit of expressing both the love and pain he's feeling at letting her go. THIS is what i wanted! Not him standing around and walking up stairs. Great work!
This version is much better than the one in the movie, the staging felt very odd in the movie, the beast was only walking up and down satirs, here he is having actual emotion instead of cgi fakery
Amazing I think your version portrays emotion much better then the CGI jumble that made it to the movie, it felt so fake and empty along with the song but your version really lets that OG lovesick beast from the first movie come through
If somebody could sing this while doing a Robby Benson Beast impression, that would be great! Or maybe he doesn't move his mouth, this is just what he's thinking, and thus the singing voice can be fully human!
This is much better than the movie by far. The singing is actually not what I remembered... I watched this movie for the first time on an airplane, so I guess I didn't really hear it that well. But there's wayyyy to much auto tune XD. But the animatic distracted me from that, for a while at least, it still much better than the movie BY FARRRRRR.
It took me until now to realize that the beast kind of looks like Sulley. Anyway, great animation. I would love to see this song in the old cartoon-style.
I don't know how I've never commented on this before! It's easily my favorite animatic for this song. I love this song and have always thought the animated movie should've had one for this moment. I even like the remake for what it is. But the staging during this song is so odd and boring and this animatic has so much more emotion. I would pay to be able to see this in color if I could.
How to draw your dragons I would say go for it! I’d mighty appreciate it if you would credit the storyboard back to me in the final. If you end up doing it I’d love to see it!
