I wanted my 2016 Camaro to have that those center exhaust tips but I ended up with a 2010 ss with the gfx exhaust package that has square effects on the bumper. It looks great on your car.
Maybe tell the bone head helper to not be banging on shit while you’re shooting a video to post on RU-vid?? Just a thought. Did you leave the X pipe on? You were saying true duals all the way back but I thought during the banging that you said it was there. Not sure if you removed it as I sped through that section due to your helper making your video unwatchable. Emphasis on not banging on metal during your videos! Lol.
Man that sounds great! Just did the same to my 2011 2SS with the same ebay Chinese headers also!, By any chance would you happen to have a link to the aftermarket O2 sensor wires? I need some badly
**long comment alert** Lol There’s options to order them with or without. It’s like $50-75 cheaper w/o the off-road connection pipes, depending on what vendor you go through. If you don’t really care all THAT much, I’d go after generic eBay long tubes if you can. They’re the same exact thing as Speed Engineering, except the welds on the outer side of the header flange, isn’t full welded all around the primary tube connections.. although, I’ve personally never had an issue within almost 2 yrs of running SE long tubes. They don’t sell high flow cats, but you can definitely build them. You’ll want to get whatever 3” high flow cat, but just make sure that the setup can taper down to 2.5” if you’re keeping the stock exhaust or going with that size piping diameter. I believe ~12-3/4” (12.75) inches, was a decent size to have some high flow cat connections welded up. You’ll need a 3” OD to 2.5” OD exhaust reducer/adapter, and have that welded onto your HFC of choice. Most typical metallic core HFC’s, have 200 CPI (cells per inch). I believe you can get 300 CPI for more noise reduction and even less fumes/pollution (if you care). I would avoid 400 CPI if possible, since that’s what the stock downpipes/cats come with, I believe. They still flow and make power, but they’re a lot quieter and do a very good job of killing catless fumes.
Did you have to do any modifications to the actual headers in order for them to fit? Just ordered these bc texas speed was out of stock and so were these and the wait was just as long for both so decided to save some money. Hoping I dont have to do any modifications to the actual header in order for them to fit.
No sir they drop right in. When we put the one on the yellow car they hit on passenger side just had to bent just a tad. But on the black car no modded need
This video is awesome. I’m thinking of getting some speed engineering headers w/o cats (off road pipes) have you done a tune if so from who? Cause I’m sure I’ll need one.
@@ky_chevy2824 awesome I will look into that. I hear most people need a tune, after installing headers w/o cats. That way you can eliminate the computer from trying to re-read the rear 02 sensors. That’s my only concern after installing the speed engineering off-road down pipes. This is something new that I will be coming across.
@@ky_chevy2824 so you never had any problems with the check engine light? I think we as viewers will love to see a video when you do the tuning for sure
I wanted to ask you a question. With it being straight piped . What about passing state emissions and does not running catalytic converter cause any problems????
Dude any recommendation where should i get the clamps that came with the headers 3 x 2 1/2 the ones that i have now are leaking I want to Change them but i dont know from where i can get them
Dude the one that came in with the headers it was leaking too ! And the stock wont work because the are different size the were 2 1/2 before i installed the headers
@@Camaro-SSRS yeah the ones that came with the header were leaking on mine also, so I got the impact gun and tighten the shit out of them and they don’t like no more
I brought the off road connection pipes, does the 3 inch go towards the headers or, does the smaller 2.5 side go towards the headers because I can't clamp the 2.5 to a 2.5 leading towards the exhaust?
Yes, I brought the clamps, but brought other new 2 nut joint clamp. I guess my new clamps aren't tightening correctly because the 2.5 side is very loose.Does the smaller side on the off road connection go towards the stock 2.5 side and not over lap like the 3 inch side?
@@ky_chevy2824 thank you, one of the new clamps was not clamping reused the old ones, first time installing headers and exhaust work had to do more research on diffrent clamps.didn't know you could clamp them like that.Got confused with the front over laping pipe to headers, any recommendations for front 02 extensions so the won't burn off.The dipstick tube was really difficult to install but eventually got it all fired up.
@@asuhadude4817 Yes you need to get 02 extensors I believe I ran a 10 inch extension for mine and the ones on the yellow car to. I should’ve probably told you you should reuse your old ones but I’m glad everything worked out
I noticed on Camaro5 there is a pic of a 5th gen with the rear o2 censors connected to the S.E. longtube o2 bung ports instead of the front censors. Would this make a difference or be problematic?
@@ky_chevy2824 what size pipe and where did you find the rear diffuser for the center exit exhaust I have been looking and have had no luck what so ever until I saw this video I figured that center exit.couldnt be done on these cars
@@tommyshomaker6680 The pipe is whatever come from the factory 2 1/2 inch. And I ordered that rear diffuser off-line it cost me $300, and yeah these cars can run the center exhaust because the fuel tank is not in the back
@@ky_chevy2824 awesome thank you so much I finally found the rear diffuser made by street scene its like 600 bux and I am thinking going full 3 inch all the way from behind the cats and deleting the resonators also so would be full 3" true duals setup with center exit
@@ky_chevy2824 have you had any issues running it that long without a tune? Thinking about running headers but the nearest tuning shop is around 4 hours away
