I have been a member of TSR British shaving forum for ten years or so and generally is a calm arena but even so when I posted an innocent comment other members decided to twist my words into their hypothesis this caused me to vehemently state that my words are the only context that stands not their conjecture. The mods locked the thread to stop the discussion getting out of control which happens on seldom occasions. 🤔
Hi Bill. Hope you are doing well. Being banned from a forum based on what you wrote is really unfortunate. My youtube content is usually just put up to show stuff for people who reach out by PM's. Some people are reluctant to post questions in open threads, and just use PM's to get help. I have no intention of promoting myself on youtube, but would be happy to help others with a bigger audience to grow their channel. I am not sure if it is a cultural thing. Americans seem to prefer to rely on authority figures instead of doing their own critical thinking.

B&B has been a "mean girls" click since it's inception about 20years ago... (Early 2000's) It's so depressing to see that the first have NOT changed one bit is the mid 90's when SRP was only and most welcoming forum as ran by Lynn.. The person who's name rymes with "teeth" has been shit selling his own ideas for a damn long time and almost all of his "knowledge" directly relates to what ever he is selling at the moment...(fire hose has ZERO benefit over just a swatch of real Irish linen, or even a flax linen) I have had my experience with Jarrod ...and it's just my experience...and I won't do business with him again...and that experience is a big part of why he has not been welcome in many arenas... I won't go into detail, I won't kick the shovel out of working man's hand...but... caveat emptor.. Oh and the Wiener Schaber is the Vienna Scraper/shaver ... depending on context...it's an Austrian design and.a wonderful razor ...but it's Vienna not Weener as we say in English

I like Jarrod as a vendor and always been comfortable with my purchases. He is absolutely aware of his different style and says so in the “about me” write up on his website. For those that are uncomfortable with him for what ever reason, I always advise, if you don’t like him, don’t shop there. Thank for sharing the accurate interpretation for the name on that razor. Others might possibly be want to know, but I must admit to a purposeful use of the incorrect naming and pronunciation for my rant. I never bought much into the shamanism marketing approach either. I remember some years back some guys selling “9-ball slate hones that were cuts out of an old pool table.
@@billm.2677 I started around 1990 ... and played around in the forums until Lynn lost control of SRP and I realized the shaving forums were just as bad as (if not worse) than the military, gun and knife forums... I had a write-up published on Bladeforums for a while as well as on the Knife Center /shave center website (by permission) but when the nonsense started and practical application fell in favor of what ever is "trendy" it was taken down.. so yeah, I've been around a while in many blade communities... now I'm an old man, and the joy of kitchen cutlery and shaving is all that remains. It's been a long while since I gave two pennies for what ever was trending or novel in this modern world.... but I do enjoy your videos (although I will admit I politely disagree with the application of the end user addressing a convex hone; maybe a discussion for another time ) I've made a few purchased from the small business in Florida and well... all I can say in good spirit and with no animosity, I will not do business again...From mislabeled items, to clearly seconds, to promises that were not only unfulfilled, but left hanging with unacceptable excuses, and I'll leave it there... but I am glad to hear your experience was positive over all. We need more representation in today's society. As for the "imperia" hones... I have never used one, but I will say that the vast majority of hones cherished by, and paid dearly for, are indeed sedimentary "slate"... and the finest, most consistent slate is all that is used for quality billiard tables... so there is NO significant difference other than the mineral constituents of the sediment in the slate... Mr. New York fire hose that rhymes with "teeth" .. was the primary critical force denouncing the "pool table" slate hones... and that indeed, exposed his own ignorance as he promoted slate and sedimentary rocks from Japan and Europe 💁♂... I've heard far more positive from the Imperia hones than I have negative (at least to the extend of a valid, knowledgable person with extensive experience in blade work).. I will say I purchased one of their strops, and the leather was exceptional quality for a bridal but not my personal favorite for a razor... and I despise their "firehose like" material... but that's a personal preference. If you want to really pi$$ off those people just reference Murray Carter, sharpening and shaving with a Spoon and basic tools... there is no black magic, no secrete science... and I feel we do this community an injustice by seeking validation for our ego. But that's just me, I do enjoy your videos.. and your narrative... I may not agree, but I appreciate and respect your passion and open minded approach... after all this isn't ManScape 😂
Think you got banned for being argumentive and annoying. After this you immediately go to name calling the "thugs". It's just shaving and not that serious man, stop complaining so much.
I think anything that gets a razor to shave your face can be correct. Could post a picture of your razor with a paint mixing stick and paste and I would give it a like.

But, if my satirical and irrelevant content towards those I consider hypocrites is bothersome to you, I do encourage you to NOT watch my RU-vid stuff. When I am going to go off the rails with my whining, I do try to issue the “stay safe” warning in the beginning as I did on this one. If I skewered one of more of you favorite persons, I’m sorry that offended you, but I am really just having some fun pointing out how soo very serious some people actually take the methods of grooming facial hair even if they proclaim otherwise.
