Straight Razor Shave 2017 #1 

This shave proves to me that those sit down table talks zoomed in on a stone are really worth watching. Thanks for this video. Chaplin or Keaton couldn't have pulled off the dialogue any better.

Reminds me of watching high school wrestling matches. Ya can’t help but be leaning into it yourself and not realizing your even doing that. That’s pretty dang sharp blade you got there.

Damn that's fast shaving. I'm new to straight razors and a shave takes 45 minutes. That blew me away. Respect Keith and keep the videos comming, i have a lot to learn :)

There you are.!!! It's nice to put a face to things,,Instruction without any instruction. The eyes and expressions explained it all. How much needed mowing, ( fluffing of the stub) proper amount on brush ( and consistency), and even the look back after drying the HANDS before you started slicing. ( best make sure they're dry before you go to work with that blade). Got it all and had a huge ass grin on my face as well. Thx brother.. I'm usually a two pass guy too. I mix the atg with the xtg. Growth is a bit whacky. My x is prob. More atg anyway. There's no debate over the quality of that edge. U conducted a symphony with that one. Sry to being long winded. ( still smiling)

Very nice video, Mr. J! I started wet shaving two years ago. I'm thinking of migrate to a straight and found your videos. I'm deft enough to learn how to shave with a straight and strop. My concern is being able to hone. I would be angry with myself if I sent a few hundred on a razor and messed it up while honing. What is a good rule of thumb on the frequency of needing to hone? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I might be the only one but i like shaving videos like this, no talk.. Just the shaving sounds.. That is an extremely keen edge for sure, but on my beard that would be slightly different, If I shave in the evening, by morning it already feels like 80 grit sand paper.

I'd would agree. I've not seen a shave video with a blade that keen till now. im standing at my honing station looking at blades and stones right now. I have to start over. lol
