This situation makes me remember what my South African grandmother loved to say ...... “ Bloom where you’re planted”. You two are certainly keeping a positive attitude. Take care.
Thank goodness you have the financial abilities to rent and feed yourselves, unlike many "tubers" who rely exclusively on the support of others pockets. Just a bit of a break from the "grind" of your daily lives visiting and meeting folks in some of the best locations in the world! Hang in there you will be home soon.
Instead of moaning and complaining like an unnamed other sailing channel you have done something positive and heartwarming. Thankyou for uplifting my evening with your proactive kindness
The people of Figi are some of the nicest and most friendly people I have ever met. It is a shame you are in isolation. as there is so much to see and do on the island. We rented what they called a motorcycle and I described as a small scooter in Lautoka to travel the coast to Suva and back. We loved the market in Nadi, the Jungle villages and the amazing archetecture in Suva. Our trip ended when our rental scooter blew up outside the thatched hut village of Navutu with the fantastcly nice people. I do hope they lift the quarantine to give you the opotunity to visit the areas people as well as get you back to your boat home. Thank for the Sunday coffe videos.
I love you folks. I love your attitude, I love the way you support each other, and I love the way you make your little positive differences to the places you go. One day I aspire to meet with you. Thankyou for your honesty and vulnerability, with your humility and your beautiful vibrant energies.
The commonality of everyone across the planet is striking. Self isolating shrinks the world down one’s own space. Then seeing you in Fiji is so relatable everything starts to expand. “Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.” Take good care.
oh man, we miss that little guy every day. But to see him on Instagram living a kitty dream life makes us happy. I can't imagine how crazy he would be cooped up here in this apartment for 60 days. 😌
@@gonewiththewynns Singa is doing so well on the farm and what an amazing, selfless act, giving them an amazing new home that is absolutely an incredible one! Thank you both so much!
My wife and I really enjoy your videos. Neither of us have ever sailed, but we have been on a few cruises. We hope you make it back to your boat Curiosity soon. This quarantine has been strange everywhere for that matter. You guys had the cyclone to deal with as well, plus the worry about the boat. In any event, we're glad your boat is fine and that you two are safe. We love your channel and think you two are cool. Stay safe, cheers!
Thank you for your real time update. As much as I have enjoyed all your vids, given the season we all find ourselves in, I really appreciate your up to date videos. 👍👍🙏🙏
From a motor home to a Catamaran to an apartment in Fiji.....I guess I would be comfortable saying the best entertainment comes from just you two. You keep filming I’ll keep watching. Your happy faces are good medicine for us staying home in the states. C U next video.
Take us to the market! I'm so curious what the non-tourist-resort, local Fiji looks like :) Glad to see you guys are making the best of that crazy situation we're all in right now
I know for a long time the market was closed very tight very crowded maybe they have opend that up now I don't know I'll have to ask my family over there. They also had strict curfews as well. I know most people are starting their own Gardens now in Fiji.
@@SailingDoubleTrouble the market in lautoka is huge and it gets so crowded there's so many people that densely populated I think that's what the government was so afraid of the covid-19 spread in that kind of environment so fast. When you got so many that crowd into cabs and buses it's just a bad situation if the corona were to outbreak. Fiji got lucky they locked it down just in time and they were able to trace those few that were on that one flight all it takes is one super spreader just one person and it would have been all over for that little Island. A lot of the spread in New York City was from that one person that infected over 100.
The Namaka market has been open throughout the pandemic. It's a smaller market between the larger towns of Nadi and Lautoka. We'll bring you along this week or weekend. 🍻
@@gonewiththewynns yes I know that one well but only went a few times. I was closer to lautoka. If you go just pass that market you can drive up to denarau Island which is where hard Rock Cafe is and all the tourist stuff and all the resorts pretty nice up there big Golf Course. If you get bored it's worth the trip. They actually dredged it out built a harbor it's still part of Viti Levu. About 12 minute drive from that market.
I am so PROUD to have contributed. 003 cents to your wonderful cause. One of your BEST videos. I'm a crusty 84 year old guy all done with laughing & tearing up. But I did.
Have loved watching you both and your adventures for some time now. Over twenty years ago I did an eleven day sea kayaking trip paddling between mostly uninhabited islands out of Ha’apai and some time in Fiji... great area of the world to be marooned. Actually if you had made it back to Tonga you may have been in the water during that cyclone and possibly had much bigger problems. If you currently have access to all your videos then, with the creativity that we know you both have, all you need to keep us entertained is literally at your fingertips. Suggestion: instead of sharing your multitudes of adventures, temporarily switch to topics that are found in multiple or even most of your videos...even back to RV days. Like progression of your daily routines, cooking and meals, your video and RU-vid techniques and equipment, your approach to planning...daily and long term. I’m sure you have enough “footage” to even do one on your hair styles and how they’ve worked out. Good luck and please keep entertaining us....thanks. Most of all stay healthy.
All things work together for good, when you look back on these videos and you watch them from Curiosity you will see how these hardships have added spice to your lives that would not have happened without the troubles. Trials + time = memories!
The prison hooch comment made me LOL and spit my morning coffee. Covid 19 is giving the gift of new experiences while we all have more free time being prisoners in our homes 😊 we hopefully are making the best of it and learning something fun and new. Take care, stay safe, stay happy.
I’m an RV’er. I sort of lost touch with you when you moved on to your sailing adventures. Glad to see you’re doing well under the circumstances. Your videos are top notch. I’m a subscriber again!
David if I could, I would be starting out on a slow boat Fiji way, right this instant. Jason and Nikki are to all signs looking like they are adapting to island life quite excellently, who knows they might aspire to become residents. ;-) Cheers all, stay safe
I did it!!! Watched 3 years or so of vlogs in around 3 weeks and caught up!! Lol. My daughters always walk in and say “Dad you’re hooked and watch non-stop!” Lol.
Gone with the Wynns you’re welcome and thank you for keeping me excited during the quarantine! Both of you are really kind and wonderful people that I wish nothing but the best. Love your mom too.
Hi been watching you guys for since a couple of years before the boat. Now my Wife and I watch your video every Sunday night.Ya it’s got to be a bummer to be “stuck “ but, it’s great you guys are making the best of it and staying so positive. Perhaps a video about what got you into and how you started to live the rv life. And how you dealt with leaving your jobs. Also tell us more about your fermenting project.
Monday morning coffee and the Wynns! Love this real time video💕💕 oh so cute little Pip! Keep up the smiles🥰 Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 for you and that you get to Curiosity soon. Much love to you, stay healthy💕💕😷😘
hmmmm, I can't remember if we told that story or not. Sad part is we don't have any supporting footage so it would just be a video of us sitting there talking.
Hey guys! I’m a long time watcher and a brewer. If you can’t get a water trap for your beer, fit a rubber tube that goes down into a dish/can/bucket of water so it bubbles the CO2 under water. That water should be clean.
I completely understand your frustrations and questions, I think we're all facing them, some, much worse. Jason, if you had not left the boat I can already think about some of the many regrets you would have had. Why didn't we leave and connect with all those people we love when we had the chance, I wish we had taken Cleo to a beautiful calm place to live final days instead of dying in a crate on some leg of the trip, and let Singa enjoy hunting and exploring and snoozing instead of being stuck in an apartment for a month. You made the right decisions. So you would be with the boat.............then what. So many ports are closed. Where are you going to go. You made the right choice just by instinct. As for the kitten, thank you so much for helping out a rescue, I'm involved with one and all those fosters are incredibly helpful to them especially right now. Remember, in a few years you will be sitting at anchor thinking " Oh yeah, I remember that.....ok, so what's for dinner?"
Looks like a pretty beautiful spot to be stuck at least. Glad you're both doing OK, hope you get to see your family and friends soon, and are able to get back to Curiosity soon!
Memories, Just like when someone asks you were were you when they first landed on the moon (Mt. Rainier), in the future people will ask where were you during the pandemic of 2020? I am so fortunate that I will say in my log cabin in Central Oregon Cascades where I could get out and walk each day, work in my garden and occasionally take my RV for a trip to some very remote locations in Oregon. Love your videos and wish you the best and soon to return to your home.
@@gonewiththewynns "Honey Bee the Blind Cat" who now lives in the states was adopted from Animals Fiji. ru-vid.comvideos Cats sure make life better, don't they?
Ugh. Same same. My ship is in Honolulu and I’m stuck in Dallas. No idea when I’ll get back to my home and my work. Just broke, couch surfing...I can’t wait to get back to work.
Always remember, we are there with you, observing, sharing and caring about you and your adventures that you are making. The video history you are making IS A TREASURE. THANKS. LOVE and PEACE.
Haha, the intro reminds of the movie Apocalypse Now, Never Leave The Boat, Never Leave the Boat. You leave boat because mangoes don't grow in the ocean man.
Ah, feel your pain guys and we are only 300 miles away from our boat but may as well be 3000. Hang on in there ! Great video and love your positive vibe and they way you calmly handling your predicament 👍🥂
Happy you both are safe. How about a video(s) in which you do a review of all your travels, each land destination and route to sailing and route. That could be some nice review like videos.
As always, I love your videos! You guys make even quarantine entertaining. 😊 Nikki, have you thought about maybe writing a cookbook? Selfish request on my part because I want to learn how to cook the amazing healthy, fresh foods I always see you making! Keep your spirits up, Wynns. Rooting for you guys (and Pip)!
Try that and they'll be quarantined and fermenting ginger beer in a real prison. How did you arrive in Tonga asks the customs agent? Shhhh, in a spaceship after being abducted by aliens. 👽
They would need someone to sail her out, meet a sea, and then sail wear? The boat would have to be provisioned for at least a month, then find a deserted island. That doesn't even include not having your passport stamped when leaving. They are stuck.
There is something very soothing and relaxing about a purring kitty cat in your lap or in your arms. Real-time here in northern Nevada things are starting to relax a bit. We are thinking that soon you'll be on your way to curiosity.
So glad to hear from you two..I've been worried about you two..I live in fla and we are opening up tomorrow. Not sure about domestic flights. Hope you get back to curiosity soon.
Yummy beer. Glad and sad we are caught up. The stinky reminder of this mess going on. Thanks for being so sweet to everyone and everything y’all come in contact with. Praying you get back to your home soon.
Maybe you can show us the food situation in Fiji, the kinds of produce, things that we don’t see in western countries, and how to prepare it? Best luck to you and pip in any case! Hope you can reunite with your boat soon :D
Keep the faith! Toronto is starting to come out of isolation. Unfortunately we’re halfway through moving to Lucca, Italy so you can imagine how that’s going 😞. Stay strong, life goes on. 😎🤞🙏
We love you guys and are Patrons. But I know you are quarantined on land but look at "Ryan and Sophie" guaranteed on their boat. Really feel for them. Please stay safe.
Came here to quote this. Read the comments first to make sure I wouldn't be repeating somebody else's post. Wasn't disappointed. Please accept my "thumbs up" in lieu of me saying the same thing and cluttering up the feed.
Your (you two) 'Tough Minded Optimism' is always refreshing to me. In the face of severe adversity you both resort to rational, logical and reasonable while doing the math and respecting each others emotions. I fully agree with Jason's sentiment at the beginning, 'what if we hadn't left our home...' and the 'what if' is recognized as invalid. I refer to the 'woulda', 'coulda', 'shouda's as fantasy thinking fairy-tale belief in problem solving. Nothing of this thinking pattern is real. Your both right on the mark with focus on health, each other and the goob smacked beauty of the place your in. Be well and thank you for sharing your healthy way of being alive.
You guys are my ultimate inspiration. I love the way you see and share the world with us. Thank you for your constant honesty, positivity, and creativity even in these trying times. I aspire to break free from my landlocked chains and untie the lines as well. So much love to you guys!!!
Well to tell you the truth the Big Island viti Levu is not all that pretty looking but there are other areas that look more tropical In sigatoga. The Tropical Paradise is on the smaller islands like musket Cove etc. Not allot of white sand beaches on Viti levu.
So happy you noticed that Mark. This beach is called Wailoaloa which the locals told us means 'black water'. It's not that it's dirty water, there are just a lot of river outlets that dump into this muddy bay...so it does remind us of places like Galveston, TX too.
@@gonewiththewynns I grew up in the Chicago suburbs. We would go to Lake Michigan, which was clean and clear. Most of the suburbs around Chicago use it for their drinking water. We moved to Houston and lived there for 2 years. Everybody ranted how we needed to go to Galveston and the ocean, and how neat it was! I couldn't help but think what a sewer! The water was dirty, the sand was dirty Brown, and at the time had clumps of oil from a recent oil spill. Someone had explained that Galveston was like the toilet bowl of the Gulf of Mexico, and everything washed up on shore in Galveston. I was not impressed!!!
@@HiPlains1 mostly because the islands are easier to lock down from contact with the rest of the world. South America and Africa are pretty hard hit, but again, mostly the areas with most contact with the outside world.
So glad to hear that you are both doing well and that Curiosity survived the cyclone. Sweet little Pip! She’s so pretty. I’m always impressed by your attitudes towards any roadblocks put in your path. You’re so very positive and grateful. It’s so very refreshing to see. I’m wishing you quick border opening! Stay safe!
The birds are eating ticks and bugs that are on the animals, I 'm sure you saw the same on your safari. bored safarilive channel is great. 57 have passed in our town and almost 500 ill and 124 in the hospital all from cv19. so wear your masks when around others. : ) peace
Quick tip...put your sealed bottles into a larger tub of water to control the temperature of fermentation. Makes the finished product much better. Less fusel alcohols
When I was last in Fiji, we had "Crab" races for entertainment. No money was bet, but we used beer instead. LoL Your right about the Fijian People are some of the most friendly in the world, and they have a beautiful home to be proud of.
You two are definitely made for each other. If you can be happy in that environment together you will be happy the rest of your life. Fiji does not look very environmentally clean. Am I wrong? Stay safe and anytime you are in S. Florida and want a dark beer drinking partner my wife and I are available. All the best.
Out of all the sailing vlogs I watch, you guys are the only ones that are separated from your boat. All the others leave their boat regularly. Kinda sucks that the one time you leave you are separated from your home. Keep up the great content, stay safe and stay positive.
While many provincial parks in B.C. are now open for day use, officials are still discouraging unnecessary travel. That's BC, in other parts of Canada are beginning to re-open, Canada may not open the border due to the fact that there are too many deaths along with the border towns, Canada does have a vaccine underway, Halperin said it's expected the first study using fewer than 100 healthy volunteers between the ages of 18 and 55 will likely get underway within the next three weeks and participants will be followed over a six-month period. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed approval for the vaccine studies on Saturday, as he also announced that the Canadian Red Cross would be getting $100 million in federal funding to help it support Canadians through the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as future floods and wildfires. While some Canadians are not happy with his shopping list, which is extensive and expensive I agreed with him, we needed to fund these things, Canadian seniors are only getting a one time $500.00 top-up. and the welfare system some hospitals have been strained even more so back east. I remember when the merchant would have to make a phone call to confirm that the card was valid. For many years I eschewed the credit card thinking that having it implied that I could not pay for what I was buying. Then there came a time that I would have to rent a car and you had to have a credit card to rent the car.
Used a lot at gas stations back in the day.. Then you sign the receipt, tear out your copy and give back the original to the attendant.. Used to get Green Stamps too!
The countries that dump straight into the waterways or ocean need to be convinced/coerced to stop that. Banning straws is the US isn’t the solution, we have actual garbage management here.
Jason, Nikki, "Bloom where you are planted" I read below -- definitely! Gratitude is part of that. Thanks for the beachcombing view of those cockles! I have several ideas for near future videos -- 1) Shoreline life (beyond gulls and cockles) Chasing various beach crabs when building a sandcastle proves fun when you see how fast they burrow. Contrary to the impression many ocean life videos show -- including some of yours (swimming with whales, sharks, giant clams...) -- the largest diversity of marine life is really not far from shore, including at the shore (reef, sandbars, beach, estuaries). All the more reason to applaud your beach cleanups, as some shoreline life is on the rare and/or endangered species list. A tour of shoreline marine life on or near Wailoaloa Beach, perhaps? 2) Build a sandcastle of your trade mark? Assuming such doesn't offend the locals. 3) Any more Fiji shipwrecks? Each one has a story. The master of "Bailey D." might find encouragement knowing bigger wrecks have been refloated after a stormy beaching. Requires lots of digging under a much-lightened ship, before floating free when towed on a spring high tide. Precedent: The refloated freighter 'Eldia' I saw up close years ago (March 30, 1984, aground at coordinates 41-deg 47' N x 69-deg 56' W): wreckhunter.net/images/eldia4-fowler.JPG, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uP-_gA_zUvY.html (instant tourist trap, too). And you found a feline friend. :-) Cheers to you both, S/V "Windwalker"
Oh gosh, I am so sorry about Cleo! Thats just the hardest thing. I know you ate heartbroken. I am happy for Simba’s wonderful farm home. Hard all around but you did right by them both. ❤️
