Wow, this was very informative. I had no clue what many of these symbols mean aside from a few like the Shiriyadenga (Birds of Heaven, aka lightening birds). Many of those symbols, btw are seen on the historical attire of our ancestors in Zimbabwe. Good to know their meaning now. The more digging done into the history, the more fascinating things become. And welcome back again bro 😁👍🏿

You've been quiet, but I see you've not stopped researching 😁. You make a comeback with the culture of my ancestors. I'm honoured, bro. The soap stone birds are said to represent our ancestor Tovera Shiriyadenga (Bird of Heaven) Nemapungubwe who ruled at Mapungubwe. Tovera Shiriyadenga Nemapungubwe, who is also known as Raluvhimba (Father Eagle) by our Venda brethren, was the first recorded lord of Mapungubwe. Mapungubwe was one of the first major cities of the Shona and Venda ancestors in Southern Africa. Mapungubwe in the old ChiShona-ChiKaranga and ChiVenda language means "Rock of the Great Bateleur Eagle” / “Eagle Rock”. The Kalanga or Western Shona name for the bateluer eagle bird is Tjipungu / Chipungu (Chapungu in Karanga), and the plural form is zwipungu / zvapungu. The prefix "Ma"- represents personification. So "Mapungu" means the "great bateleur eagle" (in description of a person), just like the Venda VhaKwevho call their king MaGuluvhe aLuonde, meaning “the Great Pig of Luonde”. So, if we assume the meta language of Mapungubwe is similar to Venda, then Mapungubwe would mean "Rock of the Great Bateleur Eagle". In other words, a personification of the great king, Shiriyadenga Tovera.

I am a person who has studied these things for a long time. U prolly don't even know what the structure's patterns represent, where else in the world the patterns are found in the world, what both the older and newer structures at Gteat Zimbabwe are aligned with. Where else bird men are found. If u did you would not think that your oral traditions have all the answers. @@vanhuvanhuvese2738

I hail from the clan of the needle. Our liturgy states that we are not the needle that sews up fabric but the rocks and the land. And yes the bird 🦅 symbolises the Messenger of the Most high creator. I am of the Royal Thobela/Tovera clan of Venda origin and I would vouch that you have explained this quite well especially towards the end🙂

Everytime i learn more about ancient African architechture , crafts and technology it infurates me knowing that the world assumes that Africa has always been some primitive unadvanced place where people just used sticks, cloth and mud. Entire cities like this were constructed with great care and with no mortar for the bricks but can still stand up for hundreds of years. Racial propaganda has been used to dismiss the idea that Africans can build things like this and when colonizers saw structures like this and even brass/gold art pieces crafted they wanted to dismiss the idea that Africans can even come up with crafts this beautiful - Thank you for spreading this kind of information about Ancient cities.

6:10 this crocodile vegetation is fascinating as in Pakistan we have a big diaspora of black people from Africa who culturally still venerate crocodiles. They associate themselves with East Africa with Kenya and Tanzania mostly. They're known as the "Sheedi" people. And they're more numerous than people think. There's 2 million of them on the Pakistani southern coast. I'm a country of 200 million, they're statistically not that huge. But the number itself is quite large.

But, as a Muslim myself, I don't think you should go out of your way and say things about people groups that you don't think highly of. It's one thing to spread false information, it's another to try and steal other ethnic groups' history (which he and other people also did in Hidden Colors) and then it's another to act racist/homophobic/transphobic/etc.

Are you saying that you agree with europeans - that america was populated by humans AFTER united kingdom? If not, why do you refer to the so called americas as the "new world".
@FromNothing
@FromNothing Год назад
What? When did I ever make that claim?
@andujarpain2629
@andujarpain2629 Год назад
I may have misheard your video. I thought you used the term "new world" to describe the two america continents. As you may know, euro-american scientists love to claim that the indigenos peoples of north and south america were late arrivals compared to the arrival of humans in europe. I have not done the research, but i believe that the continents of the americas were populated around the same time humans populated europe. Thus, i think the "new world" is a misnomer. Perhaps you agree or disagree. I know "indians" indigenos peoples get really upset when "whites" try to claim they are late arrivals from asia. Weigh in on your ideas.
@FromNothing
@FromNothing Год назад
@@andujarpain2629 Based on archaeological evidence, the majority of the natives in the Americas were relatively late, only arriving 12 - 20,000 years ago. That has nothing to do with why it's called the New World though. It's called that because it was a "New" place for Africans, Asians, and Europeans at the time. There was no regular contact with them until 1492. After Columbus' voyage then it became the "New World" because it had previously been unknown to the majority of Africans, Asians, and Europeans. It has nothing to do with ancient migrations. Anyway that has nothing to do with this video so I'm not sure why you brought up 😅
@andujarpain2629
@andujarpain2629 Год назад
@@FromNothing Wonderful. Thanks for your perspective. Again, in this video or another video you referred to the americas as the new world. If you stand by this for the reasons you elaborated above, fine, - although i am explaining to you why native americans/indigenos people hate this perspective, since from their perspective, they are not a new world and not a recent immigration, which euro-americans try to push. Perhaps you are not familiar with this debate. If not, then now you are aware. I look forward to your great work in the future. cheers and good evening.
