So let’s think about this. Master of Puppets came out in early March, ‘86. Cliff was still the bassist. ST takes place in late March, 86. Which means our hero had 3 weeks tops to learn that on top of school and DMing and play it even passably. He shredded. Speaking for the older generation, I was the age the kids are now in 86. We were the kids on bikes. We all knew an Eddie. He was our brother, our brother’s friend, our classmate, our neighbor. Hell some of us were Eddie girl/boy didn’t matter. That’s why his death hit so hard. The satanic panic was true and people like Eddie and other creative, nonconformists bore the brunt of the hate. Look up Damien Echols. Eddie is loosely based on him to represent the outcasts back then. RIP Eddie.

I'm so glad they chose an actor that actually plays guitar. Not just so the playing looks legit, but also the mannerisms. You can really tell in tv/movies when an actor actually plays metal or not because there's a body language that they don't think to study. The foot tapping while he's facing the sky, the headbanging looks natural, the one foot on the monitor, the shredding facial expressions. It's all spot on.

this scene gave me chills, he slayed the guitar playing master of Puppets in the upside down, great visuals, Max trying to escape Vecna, the guitar solo in the end, Max waking up in the snow ball. everything about it was perfect !!!

When I heard that first riff I went. "WHAT" using one of the most iconic metal songs ever. Unbelievable scene.

honestly Eddie isnt even my favourite stranger things character, hes my favourite NETFLIX character.

I just watched Stranger Things for the first time this year. I started it, fell in love with the series and watched every episode in a week. The show is a powerhouse at creating these deeply moving heartfelt scenes of love, hope and sacrifice that make me really tear up watching them. When Eddie says to Dustin he didnt run and when Dustin tells Eddie's uncle the story of Eddie's last day while calling Eddie a hero, its such beautiful television. RIP Eddie

I just really appreciate they had someone mimic the chords being played during the the whole song. Also in the show this song would only be a few months old so it just adds to thee fact that Eddie is a guitar wizard to be able to play the song by ear in that amount of time

LET'S GOOO! This was such an epic scene in the show. Eddie was one of my favorite characters in season 4 for sure.

Eddie is my favorite character in prob every show/movie I have ever watched.His guitar scene gave me the chills as well.I stayed up for the premiere so it was like 3-4 in the morning so I had to keep the volume somewhat low during his concert,if it was later in the day volume would have been up to MAX.

Dude, Stranger Things is the absolute best show ever!!!!!! I fucking love it! I'm almost 40 and I swear I'm a child again when I watch this show. My son is 6 and looks at me with the dad is so embarrassing look. It's just such an incredible show and easily the best thing Netflix has ever put out. Season 4 was mind blowingly good. Season 5 is going to knock out socks off. ST is one of those shows that just keeps getting better and better. I liked the Eddie character a whole lot.

I am just so happy my Stranger Things obsessed, Taylor Swift listening 11 year old daughter was appreciating Master of Puppets. Made my year! Along with all the other 80s hits; it was my era, I was those kids in the show's age (but a flannel wearing rock chick)! Glad I can talk to my daughter about it all and my memories from that time.

This scene was so kickass, glad they went with an old skool metal classic aswell, and not just the poppy eighties stuff. The whole season was amazing, but, season five will be E-P-I-C!

I think one of the cooler facts is since this takes place march of 1986, and Master of Puppets was released february of 86, that means eddie learnt that solo himself and most likely by ear within a few weeks, Ed was a true metal head.

After this he had a meeting with Metallica, they actually played it with him in their practice place. They even gave him a signed guitar :) Video is on YT btw .

Honestly found it a really poor decision to give Eddie the treatment he got, he is the most interesting cool character that could actual add a lot to the show and what they did with him sorta ruined that.

Best recent character in the show a little sad they killed him off if that’s even the right term but they really covered him as a character in a short amount of time this is the best scene in any tv show I’ve ever witnessed the passion that goes into Eddie’s character is amazing and this scene is legendary

So after watching the "Season 4 Volume 2" trailers, the metal world was buzzing with what song he might be playing. Funny enough, my wife, who knows Metallica only from being my wife, commented "he should play Master of Puppets". When Joe hit those first couple of notes my heart skipped a beat. I was like "..it's Master of Puppers...IT'S MASTER OF PUPPETS...OHMYGODITSMASTEROFPUPPETS!!" I lost my shit. That scene will go down as an absolute all-time favorite for the metal community. Just incredible.

I felt like a cornball when my girl got me into this show because I'm in my early 40s. I've watched every season every day for months. Been the only thing on my TV lol. This scene was epic. The whole show is epic. Anyone that grew up in the 80s should have a special appreciation for this show! They do a great job of capturing our youth. When kids actually left the house and went on adventures and had a blast. When we left early with our friends and came home when the street lights came on. Makes me miss my youth and feel sorry for this generation.
