@@phoney2627 I'm with you that this definitely wasn't planned out, and all the people foaming at the mouth because they apparently hear clock chimes throughout the first 3 seasons are giving the Duffers way too much credit. But given it's looking like Will and Vecna's history with eachother is probably going to be important next season, they have an opportunity to make the season 4 retcon stretch further and fix that season 1 plot hole.

Because in the last scene of them (Joyce, Hopper, Will, Mike, Eleven, Nancy, and Johnathon) when standing outside, seeing the town red and burned, you can see Wills nose bleeding. And Elevens nose bleeds when using her powers. And earlier in that Episode he said he could feel “it” so he’s most likely in control again, but more then just in the mind.

Will can be sassy, he can be heroic, god he can even be happy… but the script never lets him

literally half of will's lines this season were shady, sarcastic, and wise cracks. maybe he comes off as less sassy/bitchy in comparison to characters like max, mike, or dustin but those 3 are meant to be obnoxious. will is just more low key about it because he's not as loud of a person. he’s quite assertive when it’s called for, though.

@@gracealyssa28 ikr, they are both so similar to each other. Both of them feel like outcasts, their mothers distrust them(both for their own varying reasons), and they seem to have a mental connection as well. That is more than enough to make them a duo for the final season!

I think what they were trying to do was say will was a decent person so he “deserved” to make it out whereas billy was a jerk, and therefore didn’t??? Even tho I agree with you it would have made more sense to have AT LEAST will care about savings billy even when the season ended and max did nothing to save him at the end. Maybe the could have kept the conflict in max to continue for season 4 but she could have been a little LESS interested in helping him so she would feel even worsr

I 100% agree with this, they also missed an opportunity to make Will and Max have more screen time together bc I feel like they barely interacted throughout the whole thing so it would’ve been a good way to bring them together somehow. Maybe they could’ve been a duo or something like Nancy and Robin or Jonathan and Argyle for example. Thank you for pointing this out!

There are some hints to suggest that he is. Sometimes he randomly stares at Will when he thinks he's not looking or stares at his lips. The parallel between the phrase in the show, "Love makes you crazy" and Mike telling Will, "We'll go crazy together". He has a song playlist and one of the songs in that playlist is about a boy being gay in the 80's. It's implied that Mike doesn't talk to Lucas as much due to him being a jock and yet their relationship seems fine. Distance away from each other and not talking as much didn't really damage their relationship. But Mike is really awkward with Will at the beginning of S4. So if it's not time or distance, Mike must have some other reason for being awkward. And the only difference between the end of S3 and beginning of S4 is that Mike thought Will had a crush on a girl because of El's letter. Mike was fine with Dustin getting a girlfriend. He was fine with Lucas and Max getting together. But the moment he thinks Will might like a girl, he suddenly gets really upset? Mike regrets not telling El the truth before she got taken away. And Will talks about being scared to tell people close to you how you really feel because they might not like the truth. And Mike agrees. If Mike's truth was simply that he only loved El, why would he think she wouldn't like that? The first half of S4 was her begging Mike to say that he loved her. So why would he think she wouldn't like that truth? Unless his truth is actually something different. And, Mike thought Will was painting something for his crush, and when Will gives him said painting, he has this really big smile on his face. He only starts to look confused when Will tries to say El wanted him to make it. If Mike isn't bi, gay, or questioning, some of these moments genuinely don't make sense.
