hey geys, this is just a video i made while waiting for a engine block to dry answering the most common questions i get all the time, i totally understand if you fall asleep lol
Keep up the AWESOME work Chris. Your Chanel has come a long way over the past few years.... Amazing Cars and thanks for producing great videos for us fans!!!
Any hemi cars in the lot? Daytona's interest you? Enjoying life is a worthwile pursuit. Good for you, I've seen guys with more than most will ever have and still chase the things they don't. My 2cents.....sell some. You can only drive one at a time anyways. If you have 6-8 cars on the road it's plenty to keep up with by itself. I too have suffered from "I wants" and too many projects. You never get to them all, you change direction before you get there. It's just human nature. I enjoy your videos, especially the metal work (saved the firewall! Lol). Your explanations in assembly are great, particularly with replacement metal. And hey, if the worst thing you do is have too many project cars.... you're doing alright. Thanks for sharing
Mopars have historically had a higher price on the market. Wish I bought a few back in the 70's, 80's. Yours is the best video builds and roadtrips on you tube. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Chris, i have to congratulate you on the growth of your channel, 40k subs! Most of these questions you get is probably from newer subscribers, but i know you keep answering them in your normal videos. Like why dont you get a shop. Its been answered before, you said that you like working so close to home, and the costs of a shop in vegas is rediculous. Who wants to just work and not have time to play? Lol. Keep it up, this is one of my favorite car channels and the only mopar orientated one at that.
Love your videos and cars. Here in Australia you would need to have a few acres and big shed for all your cars and the work that you do. Keep up the great work. Cheers
I had a '71 R/T 440 4-speed, pretty close to mint after all the money I put into it. Sold it for $8,500. In 1989. Had to, couldn't afford to keep it back then. Sad to say but I don't expect to ever be able to afford another, at least not in that condition. So now I pretty much stick to Sweptlines. They've gone up in price, too, but not near as much, and they are still mighty fine Mopars. :-)
Great reminder to enjoy life and to not always be chasing situations that make your life more complicated and stressful. Love your perspective. Looking forward to watching your journey continue
What do your neighbors think of you? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I don’t give a F 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Dude, you’re living my dream. My dad was an engineer at Chrysler back in the 60’s and he had some fine Mopars into the 70’s.
68s are my fav... Was my first car as a kid, and have had 5 over the years. I need one more, and will keep it til I die. The fight between five kids over it after I go will be epic LOL!!
Man the early eighties were a good time for buying Mopars. I used to be into E bodies. They all needed work but you could pick up a decent one for $2500 or one that needed quarters or frame rail work for around $500. I kick myself for not buying a 72 running Charger a friend offered me. He wanted me to buy his Charger for $2500. It was a 340 automatic SE. I think your doing fine, and if your happy with your lifestyle, that's half the battle to a good life.
Another piece of advice might be "If the asking price is reasonable, and you feel compelled to haggle anyway, you're free to do so- but understand that it's at the risk of blowing the whole deal." I've seen it happen. Glad to see those cars in the hands of someone who just plain likes them.
First I’d like to thank you for your videos!!! You are very knowledgeable and make it look so easy!!! I was wondering if you have any tips as to where to drill the holes for the floorpan gas pedal mount? Or do they sell a template? My 70 charger has had that all gone due to collector gasket blowing and floor all rotted.... I’ll be butt welding in new amd patch and leaving as much original as possible. Love that you are saving all these cars, keep up the good work!!! Thanks in advance for any tips
By the way, still love your "how I did it" fabrication work. Many of us have no idea what's involved and are amazed at the expertise that goes into tearing them down and putting them back together really is.
Great video! Thanks for discussing what you see people paying in relation to asking price. That seems to be the main point of contention. The price knockers seem to think that everyone is only paying a fraction of the listed price. I'm pretty sure that is a myth and that seems to line up with your real world experience. If they were priced too high then they wouldn't be selling. I've been watching Chargers for almost 3 years now and these listing typically don't last an entire week. It wouldn't surprise me if they even go up more. I want to build one after I'm done with my Coronet and I understand that if you want a Charger then you need to pay the Charger premium.
Hello Chris, love the your videos and content. My question would be, what is your favorite sources for parts? Mainly body panels/ frame rails. Trying to find the best deal for all the body parts I need for my 70’ charger. Thank you and keep up the good work 👍
Hey Chris, I seen your General Lee with trailer attached parked at Walgreens yesterday, I wanted to take a picture but by the time I got turned around you had left. Glad to see you really use your cars. Thanks for the videos and see you around!
Chris you need to make a trip to Illinois. There is a salvage yard called MOPAR CITY. They are going be closing their doors permanently soon. They have been in business for over 50 years...
Guys like me who who only own one charger grab what we see and hold on without letting go, regardless what we paid, because it doesn't matter that some of us overpaid if we never intend to sell. Especially if we have tons of fun messing around with it regardless of what a pile it may be.
Muscle car forums are also another good place to find cars. Thats where i found mines. There was a 68 charger 6 cylinder survivor car thats on ebay right now for 42k crazy
Always liked the Charger 68 ,69, 70 I immediately loved the c Charger when I first watched The Dukes Of Hazzard I own a 2012 Charger SE yeah I know it's an SE but at the time I didnt have HEMI money But any way MAYBE in a year or so I'll probably step it up to a HEMI 🤷♂️
I had a '77 Granada that had a Rack-and Pinion steering rig that was meant for a Pinto, and I must have gone through 5 of those racks before I sold the car out of aggravation of constantly changing out racks...351W Granada too, from the factory...never seen one bigger than a 302 until that car...
The coolest and cheapest car I ever found was in 98,71 HEMI cuda clone convertible for 12thousand, at the time I thought that was a fortune. Looking back now ,was a steal
I can handle the patina finished, but hate the lower rear valence rot. Can you meet me half way and just do that bit but patina finish it. Even though i would love to see it painted like the trunk pan you done 👍👍
Brilliant Chris man your very funny just love your channel, I call you "The Magician", work your magic, (Skill) at fixing these amazing cars, I have a question for you when covid-19 has gone away and we can travel again would you take me around (in SMURF) that fast track in Vegas that you have filmed with SMURF & I'll pay for the gas!!😂👍ever since The DUKES I've loved CHARGERS but couldn't afford to run one 😭 it would be so amazing. What ever happened to "CHRISTINE",& In the right color, I think you said you would keep & restore it, be amazing to see & here🤣. All the best take care☕😊😎✌🌟🗽☕👍
I follow Chris for his tips and techniques in metal work but if I see any coke bottle chargers I will share. When on Craigslist look on Auto parts it doesn't cost sellers to post there.
Run and drive mean little...its that vin plate thats the car..Smart people buy piles of junk you wouldnt use for a boat anchor..But if it has a good title and vin plate..All u need is deep pockets to restore it ..there not making them anymore!!!!!
Hey Chris do you work on customer cars? Because my dad has a 1971 Dodge Charger 318, gold, vinyl top, original motor, brown interior. I was wondering if you could replace the quarter panels because it was built in Pennsylvania and it is now located in Oklahoma. The reason why I’m asking is because it was his first car and it hasn’t ran since 1989.
Is the turquoise 1968 roadrunner with the white vinyl top and mushed front clip that you found in a Cali salvage yard still available? I would be interested.
Next time maybe discuss some of your go to tools and where you get your parts and supplies. Completely understand no wanting the overhead of a shop. Plus the distractions that would come with that.
Hi Chris, I watch your videos because I have a thirst for knowledge and never took any courses in mechanics (I'm a physician). Can you share your opinion on bypassing the ammeter on a 68 b body, practical improvements on how you wire your cars to make them less prone to breaking down? It's hard to find good videos on wiring harnesses and tips on how to troubleshoot turn signal switch gremlins and other things like that. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
You had a ‘68 charger 2 years ago that I saw on Craigslist myself. It was located in Toledo. It looked like Patina. The previous owners were asking around $25k so I was curious if that was the same car. You must have sold it.
You should restore the slant 6 charger back to standard. I guarantee you will get trophies from it, because its not something you see anywhere. A friend did the same with a 65 mustang straight 6, left it completely standard and won best in show at 2 shows and various other trophies.
Here's a question, you have all of these juicy mopars in the build, throw it down to all of the MOPAR fiends, all of them, pick a car outta a collection, and build it to your own driver, and I mean daily as funk
I'm not a charger person, but if I had a dollar for every time in the past 54 years someone asked me if my B5 Blue 69 Bee 4-speed car was for sale, I'd be stinkin' rich!
The thing about classic cars is there worth what your willing to pay.....ive stole some real nice cars and been robbed for some really shooty ones lol...but of course the popular cars always demand a price with the name GTO challenger charger chevelle ect......dont feel bad i have 23 cars and people think im nuts and ya only about 9 are on the road the rest are in various steps of build.....
