thank you for the video sir. i am a huge mopar fan and a former owner of a beautiful 1971 check stripe 383 road runner. i owned it and street raced it for 5 years. it sucomed to a barn fire and was complete loss in 1989. since then i have yearned to drive a b body mopar again. back then i never thought about what i really had...a true muscle car....beautiful engineered body lines in my 71 runner made me proud. with a little cash and still in high school i pulled that big block out and rebuilt it from rated 335 hp to511hp...boy it was fast with dana 391 ratio gearing surte grip. thanks again

Man, that blue Super Bee kills me. To think at some time, that was somebodies big block, stop light, ground pounder. That was once somebody's baby. Then someone figured that it would be better to send it to a junk yard than to sell it. Blows my mind.

Every time... There's only a few things in life that can make a man break down in tears and cry... This is The One... It's *so* unfair that alabama has given these mopars a death sentence... So much Mopar Muscle wasting into the ground... And to see it: It hurts like hell... I'm very Thankful that You bring forth this for us to see... Thank You,Happy New Year to You and Yours!

The laws in Alabama need to be changed forthwith!!! In the state that I live in, Delaware, you can get a "Reconstructed" title for any vehicle that has been considered totaled and sent to the scrap yard. Alabama should file suit and adopt a similar law and stop being greedy. I have always said that the definition of a politician is: "an elected crook or criminal". That law Totally blows my mind.

So many cars & so few people to refurbish & restore them.

Them 70s Cornets are unicorns, and go for over quarter million dollars. Didn't knew they made those cool unique cars until this video, had to look it up

They were smart. They probably got all these when they were 500 bucks. In 1990, I got a banged up, rusty 68 Charger RT for FREE. No motor or trans, but those are easy to come by, especially then. That car still exists, but is fully restored now.

A friend of mine found a '67 GTO In a wooded field near Greensboro NC.He pulled it out,reapplied for the title,it was fully restored,still driving it!!

Cheers from Canada . A suggestion for you guys is to lobby your local government for changes to the law . These cars would be very good for business and the economy if they were able to be restored .

Up in Alberta you can buy a vehicle with a salvage title. But before it can be reregistered for the street, it needs to have an extensive inspection done. It needs to be in as new condition, this is to prevent scabby work, released onto the streets.

Seen some info on this yard. Apparently the cars are too far gone to save. Only good for parts I DO realize they can be rebuilt but nope.

I know of a place just like that here in MO. guy actually sells some of them. and restores them to sell... ive been wanting to buy one. but I havnt had to time or money to do so.

Ted is my neighbor, really next house over. I have never walked the yard but I hear he has lots of cool stuff. BTW, never refer to it as a jukyard. He says it's a salvage yard.

I wonder if they would be allowed to leave the yard if they were going to be turned into a drag car where the VIN wouldn't matter, they would be serviced or anything so the VIN would just be a random number...

I looked and they can sell you the car and you can rebuild it but the state tries to make it hard.When you finish rebuilding it, you must have it inspected. This is to determine that no stolen parts were used to rebuild it and to ensure that your vehicle has been safely rebuilt. According to Alabama law, only a licensed rebuilder can apply for the inspection. The vehicle must be restored within Alabama only. Alot of red tape and fees but for the right car to the right guy it could be worth it.I might be wrong but i have found you can find a way around most dmv bs if you really want to

Funny, I hear now that the junk yard owner has the Daytona being restored on a TV show, but supposedly for car shows only so it won't be titled or street driven. I forget which tv show it was but has anybody else seen that on the velocity channel lately?

There has got to be a way to get some of these saved. What if some rich guy in some other country offered big bucks to the owner to ship them over the usa border?, and removed the vin plates.

How can the cars never leave a junkyard? The cars can be sold whole, the junkyard has the titles. The junkyard can also generate salvage titles if need be. I am confused by the poster's statement in the video.

I have a 66 hemi charger that came out of an Alabama junkyard We titled the car in Arizona and got away with it

What would really be interesting, if the original owner was still alive, is to find out the circumstances for the individual cars being their. To many people went to fast and never made it out alive. These cars were made for performance (all the money was in the engine) and little for driver safety. Even turning above 50 mph could cause an accident!

So not even under the table they can be sold? To maybe out of state people? Idk how it all works but that is terrible. Big bucks sitting in that yard and many can be restored..

Ridiculous that these vehicles are not allowed to be taken out of the yard. I would really like to know the great state of Alabama's wisdom behind that law.

Ever heard of "West Coast Hemi's"??? Our boys would have a hay day in that place!!!! F@#K Alabama's law: Drag those puppies out of state; what can they do about it? What kind of sucks though is that all of them are missing the original engines and sadly that seriously effects the value of the car. Matching VIN numbers are a big deal!!!!
