I love Franky but I still can't forgive him for making Nami's waver into a horse. (I wonder if that's why we never see it again-- to my recollection-- after that scene. I can't remember if he was supposed to change it back.) 😢
@@Grimbear13 spoilers Luffy part 1: I don't want to share my food with anyone. Luffy part 2: I want all my friends to be able to eat as much as they want. Luffy says he doesn't want to be the hero, but he also won't accept anyone else going without.
It'd be even funnier/crazier if he rips off both Bleach and Naruto and it turns out he's hiding some new secret eye power under there the entire time but kept it shut as a power limiter like Kenpachi
Luffy starts off calling Shirahoshi "Yowamushi" (like "scaredy cat"), but then when he learns how she kept to her mother's dying wishes in a seemingly impossible situation (kinda important for later), he upgrades the nickname to be closer to her real name, as "Yowahoshi." (That could still be calling her weak as in "yowai" though, lol.)
Luffys hero speech is probably better said as "Heroes save people because its the right thing to do, i save people because i feel like it." Luffy steals, beats up kids, destabilizes everything, but he never does it for any ideal. He does it because he wants to help his freinds or beat up a guy he doesnt like. He is no hero, just a funny lil dude
A thing i love about this arc is that we get to see how much the crew can do after the time skip. In general their enemies are not a huge threat to tge straw hats and they can just strut. And then that can be use to show how strong future enemies are when they struggle
Queen, I rarely comment on RU-vid videos, but I just wanted to say I've found your channel a couple days ago and have been watching through your videos since then. I'm Loving the vibes you give off and whole experience of reliving One Piece through your first time experience. It's got me eagerly anticipating the next video drop and it has been a LONG while since I last had an excitement like that to look forward to. Starting to ramble a bit here.... anyways, TLDR; keep doing what you're doing! I love it. Hope this comment doesn't get lost and you get a chance to see it. Have a great day because you sure as hell brought a bit of joy to mine! :D
I'm suddenly wondering how Hordy would think about humans if he had ever met Shanks or Whitebeard in his thoughts of "humans can't be stronger than fishmen". dude would probably pass of an overdose
Dude if he wouldn't have filled the room with water even Zoro would have beat him earlier. Hordy is nowhere near the strongest of humans. The poor guy is delusional.
Luffy knocking out this many Fishman without resorting to voilence is such a good moment in the show. For it showcases a cool thing: It showcases in a funny way that whatever Hordy has cooked up, just won't work as long good people nullifies toxic behavior. Luffy in this moment, does in a way "nothing" (like not resorting to voilence like Gattling Gun) and still gets the upperhand. Maybe a weird logic, but i just love that Luffy did it like this, for many other options to fight those 1000 men were there. Our Pirate King has grown up!!!
If someone knocks you out, and whilst you're out, everything is solved, you're gonna feel a bias against them. Especially if they're a human and you're a fish man. If you faint and he doesn't lay a finger on you, he's clearly not like other humans.
@@MayMoment_ I get what you are saying, but it is a better way to solve a conflict then Luffy let loose on everyone there with his GumoGumo techniques. It gives of another vibe (from my perspective) But i get what you are trying to say, resentment is always a part of the aftermath. But better having resentment in a bruised body when they fell down, then having resentment in a bloody broken body form a GomuGomu techique i think :D
@@MEllOWDPRODUCTIONS oh I totally agree. Instead of punching them out, he just made them faint. He chose the least violent option, which is gonna help show the fishmen that he really only wants to kick hordys ass lol
I mean, you wouldn’t hunt a rabbit with a cannon, right? Conquerors Haki is just a way to quickly put down anyone who would effectively be a child punching a gorilla.
Shirahoshi is the best. It takes a lot more courage to not keep negative feelings even towards individuals who did you THIS dirty. She understands what the cycle of hate does.
Seems like you do not understand Shirahoshis character and the theme of inherited will of the series. It was Shirahoshis mothers last wish to her children to not hate the one who killed her! Not continuing the circle of hatred is literally the central theme of this arc!
@@furorteutonicus9045 Yup, and on top of that the fact she could so purely honour that particular wish of her mother's is important considering her power. (Leaving it there so as not to spoil.)
she made a promise and it was the last one that she could ever make, when you make a promise like that, you cant just casually cast it aside. such would only dishonor her mother's memory, and in the east, death comes before dishonor...
I agree, even though he dismissed Otohime's speeches and probably mocked her or ridiculed her, I don't think he would have attacked her. Getting rid of the royal family for fishmen and merfolk - it doesn't really seem to fit with what he was aiming for when he talked about fishmen reclaiming the seas. And he definitely wouldn't have approved of anyone attacking his sister.....we haven't even heard her talk about him but we know how Arlong gets about those important to him.....
You mention Luffy's kindness making later good things with the Kraken, but that goes double at least with Otohime saving St Myosgard. Not only did she get the authorization form, but there's a dangling plot thread there that's gonna come back eventually to smack ya in the feels. Kindness really does improve the world, both immediately and in the long term.
11:48 Luffy have been calling her Yowamushi, which means coward. Now he's calling her Yowahoshi. "Yowa" comes from "Yowai," which means "weak." And "hoshi" is just from her name, Shirahoshi. So she's no longer a coward, but still a weakling. Hope that helps!
Hopefully next time he's fighting is a word you'll say a lot when watching the next arcs of one piece, thankfully the story and fights only get better so it's not a problem. I do love brooks evolution the most tho, he's now able to fully materialize his songs, that's super awesome
I always pitied them because of how delirious they were. Even if they pulled this off and the SH's didn't show up, BM's people are already here. Take out Mr. Pekoms or Tamago, then Katakuri will show up next.
You know you've become a true Nakama when you get emotional over them walking... Other Anime Fans: "Why are you crying? They're just walking." OP Fans: "You just don't get it..."
You know one thing that’s different between Arlong and Hordy is Arlong loved his fellow fish men and fought for them even though his actions were wrong at that time. Hordy on the other hand doesn’t care about his fellow fish men to just sacrifice them easily.
@QueenBlaze The Strawhats are ready to kick some New Fish-Man Pirate butt. Fun fact, in Oda's Question Corner, Oda said if Shanks and Rayleigh were at the Plaza, they could knock out all 100,000 of Hordy's soldiers with their Conqueror's Haki compared to Luffy's 50k. It shows Luffy still has a bit to go before he can stand with the legends of the Grand Line.
These episodes bring a lot of memories Especially that one Gangnam style Amv of Fishman Island the edit is pristine and lip sync always kills me Its been so long lol😂 If you guys haven't seen it you definitely should
"Tripped Him, With A Stick!" hoo, i was looking forward to this, knowing that we were gonna see the Straw Hats dish out some new moves and we got to see part of it today! but yeah, what is up with the bike and why is it so phallic? well, you'll have to stay tuned to find out! XD
18:22 We still don't know but I saw a theory floating around: Zoro, wishing to be more like his Captain during the 2 years apart, wished to inflict a scar below his eye, just like Luffy's....But since Zoro has the sense of direction of a deaf bat and room-temperature IQ, he blinded himself in his left eye instead. Just a theory, but it made me cackle when I first read it.
I just laugh at how delusional Hordy Jones is thinking that he stands a chance against all the humans......He doesn't realize the HELL that awaits him above water. EMPERORS AND ADMIRALS AND WARLORDS. OH MY!!!!
The yowahoshi thing is translated weird, but basically he switched from just calling her “Coward” or “Weakling” straight up to calling her a combination of that word and her name as a more affectionate nickname, “Wimpyhoshi”
its a bit goofy that this fight is obviously simply to show how cool and powerful the strawhats have gotten, there arent really any stakes or any danger whatsoever, however its still really cool to see :DDD also luffy is so funny with his "i want all the meat" babes ur still a hero deal with it
It's always amusing when the Straw Hats face an enemy that is clearly inferior to them, yet still persist in thinking that their victory is assured and keep fighting, no matter how many of them get taken down.
7:25 Mistranslation. They are saying "ヒーロー", meaning the English word "Hero". In Japanese that means "Superhero". Sogeking is a ヒーロー, for example, that's why he wears a cape. The Japanese words for "Hero" are "勇者" (yūsha) and "英雄" (eiyū). I can never certainly remember which is which, but one is a born hero, someone destined to defeat a great evil, or who has already done it (based on the Kanji it should be eiyū), the other (yūsha) is an everyday hero, anyone who performs an heroic deed, or someone chosen to champion a heroic cause. The latter can become the former after the deed is done. A ヒーロー (hīrō) would technically also be eiyū, but Superheroes come with Superpowers and shit like that.
If Hordy wasn’t such a hateful asshole I’d feel bad for being the first victim on the chopping block after a 2 year training arc, his forces all just exist to show off how effortlessly the Straw Hats can take down fodder now.
Luffy's reasoning as to why he doesn't wanna be a hero is not much different from what he does already, which is to have a party and share the food lolol
Shirahoshi is so brave, stronger than I could be. I couldn't help but hold a grudge even if I promised my mom. Hell, I still haven't forgiven some of the things that happened after she passed. - Luffy's Conqueror's Haki takin' out half the army is still one of the most badass things. Just walk into the room and knock out 50,000 fishmen with a look. Luffy didn't get that from a pill.
😮 Oh HELL NAHHH; I'm already an hour late to *THE PAAARRRTTYYYYY* 😮 🎉🎉🎉 Been looking forward to this one for the last couple days just to catch up to you, while you're catchin up on the O.P. !!! Curious about what your takeaways are gonna be after seeing the power of Luffy's "CoC" (whoa Whoaa WHOAHHH! ...HEYYYY!! 'CHA MIND UP OUT THAT GUTTER !! Unless, perhaps, after such a long break of *TWO LONG YEARS* worth of grueling days without experiencing any of the much deserved spoils of victory that these valiant, fighting men, striving toward the day that their dreams are realized amidst the unified crew, standing tall beneath the Jolly Roger of the one and only.. "KAIZOKU NO MUGIWARAAAA!!!!" and would like to selflessly honor their bravery by allowing them the blessing of seeing your prettiest colored pairs of panti--🤦🏼♀️🤜✨🤪💥☠️ 🏏💢😭🌪️👺⚓😮🥊🥴✨💀🎩✨) ..... as Luffy's show of strength by wiping out half of the whole damned 100,000 person/Fishman 'Rumble Pit' before even throwing the first punch, ZORO showing that he's no longer the little rabbit, or frog in a well, which Mihawk had first named him to be. Fishman Island wasn't the best Arc in the series, not even close, but there's nothing like witnessing the growth of the STRAWHATS after they've finally returned to form and started whoopin up on everybody here
What I allways found funny about Hordy's plan was: You really think you can beat the admirals of the marines? He is talking about going to Reverie and wreck shit, and you really think you can deal with people like Kizaru and Akanu on land? GTFO
lolol hordy be like whats wrong with you guys its just 10 weak humans.... forgetting about the fact that one of them just punched you through a cliffside
Yeah lol And most of the times he's been portrayed as someone who is "Selflessly Selfish" which is a really interesting quality. And in gags on the other hand he is Selfish asf 😂
I still feel complicated about Shirahoshi’s decision to stay quiet. Like props to her embodying her mom’s message of not hating, but this dude killed someone and harmed others afterwards. Not hating doesn’t mean not punishing! Still she was just a traumatized kid and trapped in a tower doing the best she could.
Shirahoshi "Dont be angry or hate..." : so let the criminal run free and destroy her mothers dream while the blame is to be placed solely on humans, rather than the mastermind, which ultimately helped create this very situation.. I get her position, I can empathize and understand, but just like Vivi, she just frustrates me. Then how Jimbei and the others were talking her up about how she did as her mother and Fisher meant, it only proved they missed the point entirely. Its insulting. "You protected her dream" --- by allowing it to be spat on for a decade and only survive out of sheer luck because luffy exists and appeared at that convenient point in time. Because without Plot and Luffy, then at that moment, Shirahoshi's entire family would've died and her island would've been the starting point of the very sht Otohime and Fisher despised the most.
Well, in Shirahoshi’s defense she was only 6 years old when her mom died. And only 16 now. Plus hasn’t had much of a chance to learn much since she’s been locked up in a tower since she was 6. I give her a pass.
@@-Cetus- Agreed. You are correct about that. Its why I can say I understand where she's coming from and empathize. At the same time, its f'n stupid and annoying with how people react to her explaining her reasoning. Since everyone just smiles and acts like she did exactly as Oto and Tiger wished. well, I just find it annoying... Since if she does the same thing in the future and keeps things hidden just so people dont "hate or get angry", well, I can only imagine how fckd things could get.
@@DogmaticNonsense you are not gettng one thing they are all admire that conviction that takes to not let the outside world sway her conviction on that, we all IRL already know how things are how people tricks and cheats and if you are not smart you will get taken advantage on, so you see it as stupid because you know people will take advantage of that, which is a fault of every person having malice and doing bad things, because we see it as idealistic and just a dream, the point is to actually see that if everyone could be taught to be that way and forgive but to also learn there is bad people not to generalize then we could have empathy and learn to judge not to hate. they smile because there is hope for that ideal to exist, while if even she would have given up on it then the ideal would trully be gone. remember humans where taught to be the way we are, so why should we all give up on tryng to improve just because it is obvious there will be a hard path to achieve it? that is the whole point
