My hypothesis is that he just likes being super lazy and/or trolling viewers by intentionally making strange decisions (like never buying the ongoing internet speed upgrade in this game, just a single day turbo charge and then never revisiting it despite the _maddeningly_ slow speed of the in-game internet interfaces...) well, it's hard to say. Two steps ahead can often look much the same as one step behind, and sometimes there's not much practical difference between them. Or something.
