As a kid I always thought these themes were fucking awesome and catchy but never really thought about it in detail. Now that I've grown up and actually started learning music as a musician, I appreciate how complicated and progressive each and every theme is. It's fucking incredible !
gunswordfist yeah, but the progression from 8/16 bit soundtracks to full fledge instruments & synths is why music from this era brings back such positive nostalgia.

Imagining Guile, Ryu and Ken in a car together cruising somewhere. Guile's driving while Ken's running his mouth on the passenger side. Ryu sits quietly lost in thoughts while gazing emptily at the scenery. Don't ask.
man remember skipping school and going to the pool hall and playing this game and the music was trippy! eventually got it on ps1 and used to just vibe on the bgm. Im also 32 now

Music impregnated itself into my being from the tender age of 10, I didn't know. Every time I heard that song, and still hear it to this day Every strand of my being revives, and a sparse voltage of electricity dances beneath the entirety of my skin. This song, is the reason I am a musician today. Thank you Ayoko Saso...and God bless Capcom

Video games used to be about selling you an escape, a challenge, a genuine alternate reality from the rat race... Now, it's just about sales, program it, and ship it out :(

I remember every time I had a fight on Guile's stage in this game, I'd try to draw out the match for as long as possible just so the battle could continue during that final epic guitar solo! lol The pounding synths, and thunderous bass playing is amazing on this one, and the jazzy breakdown is just sublime. And that climactic guitar solo is a real goosebumps inducing moment! xD The original EX Plus Alpha themes were awesome, as they sounded like actual, fully rounded, musical pieces, instead of short, repetitive themes on a loop, which was the norm in beat em ups up until then. Shame this series instalment has very little chance of re-appearing due to Arika owning the rights, rather than Capcom. :(
SaviourV Oh, at least 90% of them, probably more. lol That solo has such a galvanising effect, it's impossible not to be pumped up by it! The entire theme is just incredible though, and probably the best one in the game, which is no mean feat, considering how amazing the rest of the soundtrack is. The contrast between the smooth jazz, and the intense bombastic rock is a strange, but great combination, and makes this theme quite unique. :)
***** You exaggerate much. ^_^;; But I suppose that's to be expected. That guitar solo is most certainly a morale-booster. And I do believe you used it to maximum effect in your battles. Commendable indeed. Did Garuda / Vega (Bison) / Gouki / Skullo / Kairi (from SFEX2+) give you any trouble?
SaviourV Nope, I'm not exaggerating, then again, I wasn't factoring in the one player matches against the computer on a high difficulty level. lol The 90% thing, is for when I played against my brother, who wasn't great at the game. :P And yes, those characters did give me trouble, especially Garuda! xD
Every time I hear this and see this artwork, I always think of Guile shadowboxing and perfecting his special moves on base...he then realizes he's lost track of time and looks to the sky; "Hmmm....now that's a strange sunset" says Guile.

This song is no longer appearing in the Street Fighter EX3 soundtrack on RU-vid music, its been replaced by some weird mix tape that just ends up playing this song anyway
Guiles theme may be iconic and more known but this....this to me is the real theme of guile (it starts off messing around with the fighter then soon as the tempo changes BAM guile kicks the ever loving beep out of you and this fight just got serious).
Yea, definitely man, its crazy that this is 1997 videogame music. I love the ex series soundtracks they were amazing and still blow me away even today.

Man, didn’t realize as a kid playing this game at the time, but this band is 🔥🔥🔥 especially that bass. The awesome music made this gem of a game so much more enjoyable!
