AMC9L, I participated in two of these when Hot Rod started it years ago. While fun, it takes a lot out of you. Some nice ones out there. Thanks for throwing in something different, brought back some good memories.
@@AutoMotoCha9L It is a blast and the people you meet and the new friends you make is priceless. Sure wish we were closer, would love to give you a hand. I just crew chief now with my son mostly, but still able.....can still turn a wrench, just not as quickly...lol
Best newish way to follow drag racers especially when they are active RU-vidr. Great way to follow and route for people and cars that you like!!!!!!!!!
I'm retired from drag racing, but I've been running muscle cars since 1971, I've always run between 8:20 to 10:10 ETs in a quarter mile, no spray bottle bullshit, All muscle no fat, Not only was my cars was fast, they all look good going down the track, why put all that money and time to have a fast car and it looks like junk
Check out the drag and drive scene. Yes there are stretches on the street car claim. But most are real. 1000 hp cars car be driven and raced. It’s a cool thing. There are a lot of events like drag week. Sick week. Mid west drags. Rocky Mountain race week. Very cool and are all a bit different from each other. Any how have a great day
There all registered and insured. Sure it not your everyday car you take to work and back but then you don't drive your Ferrari everyday to work. Bugatti's are street legal and look how fast they go Ill never understand comments like yours.
It's for real brother, participated in two when Hot Rod started it years ago. A lot of them have trailer hitches and pull small trailers the entire trip, and I'm talking the 1500hp+ ones also. All are for real street cars, titled, registered, and insured....a Hot Rod rule/requirement.
@@stannelson2582 Not most, all....a Hot Rod requirement to participate, titled, registered and insured and all have to drive the entire one thousand miles and make at least one pass at each track.
@@mrshifter8220 yes I get it. I’m a huge fan of it. But many people question it and I was giving peoples non belief a bit of understanding. The main reason people say no to the real car comment is that they live in places that those cars can not be driven. So cut the nay sayers a bit of slack and invite them in to enjoy the punishment of a fun way to fallow racing. They will get it!!!!! Have a great day
Headline? Street legal?? Sorry but none of those cars are street legal, and I doubt even the registration of many. They would not pass any vehicle inspection anywhere in the world. As for those stinking smog cloud diesels, the organisers should go and have a gool long hard look. The EPA would and should be on those things like a ton of bricks If nothing else the rollcages etc are not legal. Too many of those cars are plain shitboxes that do the image no good what so ever. It seems the law 'tolerates' them as they spend money,, though street burnouts would have them arrested in many places. I do enjoy watching parts of this on You Tube,, but street legal,,never.
Yes, they are ALL street legal. I have firsthand knowledge of the first truck. He drives it all over the country pulling a trailer with spare parts, tires, and tools.
