Thank you for your comment. Speaking about my skills, I will not brag here about my experience. The joint locks shown in this video are called Nikkyo and Sankyo. Ask them to let you feel both locks if you find a good Japanese Jujutsu school. I can give you a heads-up; they result in extreme pain. It allows one to control an opponent by destroying his will to continue fighting. However, every joint-lock technique has plenty of counter techniques. And this is why you have to take into account the preceding hook, which puts you in a semi-conscious or even unconscious state. This significantly decreases the ability to continue the fight.

Seriously... If hand lock/ joint lock and takedown won't work in street fight, then why does police and other enforcers are taught hand/joint lock when dealing with aggressor..

I don’t know where you are from, my friend, but I am originally from Central Asia, and my outfit is from Indonesia, which is the birthplace of martial art called Pencak Silat. Indonesia is located in Southeastern Asia.

I only have a couple of decades of full-contact sports experience and work with military units. What I agree with is that full-contact sparring sessions are highly important as they prepare you to be more resilient psychologically. However, not everybody is ready to make such a commitment. And realistically, most people are not even supposed to fight. Be safe 🙏
