The salon I used to go to does so many things that they shouldn’t do. I’m so grateful that I never have to go back there-or anywhere else-ever again. You’re the best!
I *love* that you are a master of your craft AND leave in any mistakes in your videos. That shows us how to correct mistakes we will all surely make and shows us how a true professional handles those little mistakes. Thank you so much, Suzie. I freaking love your videos.
I vote for a kitten nail video! 😏 That's what I call it. Not short, not stilleto, kitten heels...nails 🐱 Mini almond nails...but not too pointy. I still want to be able to remove my contact lenses!
Omg that dappen dish is gorgeous 😍 I've never had a stress crack in my false nails, but I get them all the time on my thumbs on my natural nails which I why I prefer to just wear false nails instead lol
This came at just the right time - yesterday I discovered my first stress crack on a set that has been holding strong since July. Super helpful to show how to repair it so I didn't have to do a whole new nail!
I haven’t been watching your videos lately but I been watching you for about 3-4 years now. I’m so happy you still post. This is definitely my comfort channel ❤️
Wow, very good tutorial! I love that you do your tutorials step by step, most of the tutorials I’ve found don’t do that and I get very confused very easily.
I had two nails break on me this week!! I think I could have fixed them but I gnawed them off like a fiend..... would not recommend hahahaha Thank you for this vid!!
This was GREAT for me to see because it happened on your dominant hand!!!!!! I will usually just soak off and start over if it’s just one. 🤣😂🤣. Thanks again #FairyNailGodMother😘😘
Hey Suzie and cameraman (to the nailroom you should so have had a cape and eye mask 😀) Had stress cracks a few times but usually on my natural nail not so much with enhancements but I think I am at times a little heavy handed with product. Great to do this with your non dominant hand. I am left handed and struggle so much going righty! Any good tips for that (bet you have prob done one!) See you next week x
LOL you are cute, I do have several videos on doing your non-dominant hand. The biggest trick I find is holding your brush or e-file steady with your non-dominant hand and move your dominant hand especially works well with filing you have more control this way
@@NailCareerEducation Lol thanks Suzie. Will look through your videos and will find one. I can do that with the e file ok but the brush not so well. Some say us lefties can be ambidextrous but I beg to differ!
Would you ever put a small dot of glue in the "hole", allowing it to seep between the nail & lifted acrylic before filing it down? And then patch the area with more acrylic….. wouldn’t that help prevent it from breaking further, especially if the lift goes further across that you think??
Do you use a dehydrator and bonder when using polygel? Or is it only meant to be used with acrylic? Cos you paint over the natural nail with gel before applying polygel. So is a dehydrator and bonder still necessary?
My natural nails keep getting what appears to be stress cracks., usually below the free nail about a quarter of an inch. What causes that and is there away to save the nail without using acrylic or gel nail products? If so how. Thanks!
@nail career education - would you use similar strategies to fix a stress crack/tear in PolyGel? I just used Duo Forms for the first time and it's apparent I didn't make them thick enough... Now I don't know what to do. 😩 Assuming I use the same strategy; get rid of lifted areas, primer, fill the holes/make it thicker in stress areas, file, and so on?
I have been using the… ‘Gelish’ dip system, and it seemed easy at first, but the base product hardens so fast that it doesn’t go on smooth after the second fill application three weeks later. Is there a way to thin it? If not, I am thinking about trying the monomer that you have mentioned with low odor. My husband can’t deal with the regular ‘No Lift Nail’ monomer that I used to use.
Since you’re working on your non dominate hand would you recommend a “student” or someone who is learning to use both fast set and slow setting monomer? What I mean is if they are experienced enough to use the regular monomer on say a practice finger or another person, or even when using there dominate hand, but use the slow set for the non dominate hand? If this makes sense. I wanna learn to do acrylics on myself and even though I have a cosmetology license we weren’t trained to do acrylics or gels or any nail enhancements just basic manis and pedis but you are such a great teacher I think I could learn on myself (after I get a practice hand of course) :) love your videos Suzie. Can’t wait for the Halloween and Christmas ones to start coming out!!
I’m actually shooting a Halloween video tomorrow- Slow setting monomer is MUCH easier to learn with - I just released my Odourless Monomer in a sample size set today - good way to try it. Out of all the products and technique Acrylic is the hardest - odourless gives you a good head start for learning
@@NailCareerEducation omg I can’t wait.. I will definitely be picking up some of your stuff soon. I know you’ll have amazing quality products. Are you gonna make a video on the new efile I saw you came out with soon? I love seeing how much you’ve grown even this past year.
@Nail Career Education Back in the late 80's early 90's I used to love getting the acrylic America style. It looked like a natural nail. Do you know what I'm talking about?
I would have loved to see how you did the more square shape I hope that you'll start wearing that more often it looks so beautiful on you. It's time to switch up from the standard almond and stilettos and start wearing more of a square to squoval shape 🥰❤️💛👌🏼💚🎃🎃🎃 I hope you do some Halloween designs just showing creativity and Thanksgiving designs and Christmas designs in advance so people can have some varieties and 2022 designs as well for the new year. Thank you for being a wonderful motivator and a great teacher have a blessed weekend 😇🥃😎💯‼️🙋🏻♀️
Suzie i got a question….. why do you want a clear layer in the cuticle area first and then the white? You probably have explained it in a different video but i came across this and now i wanna know.
I certainly don’t mind explaining it again. In fact I love that you asked. A lot of places won’t put down a clear or pink layer thin that is, of acrylic first. And I understand you might not want to because it can add thickness, but when the client returns and they want to take the black or the green off of the nail it’s very hard to get it off of the nail plate without hurting. Yes you can soak it off but it’s also time consuming filing it as much faster. And when your nail technician working every hour on the hour you don’t have time for soaking. So by applying a thin layer of clear or nude allows the tech to file down to that clear or new layer as opposed to painstakingly taking off every bit of green. It saves a lot of time and a lot of anguish at the nail table for both client and the tech. I highly recommend it however not on the free edge I don’t understand why people do this on the free edge there again wasting their time
Hi suzie. I love your videos, but I have always wondered, do you have vitiligo? Just asking because I have notice the difference in skin color on your hands😊 or is it that the top of your hands are getting color from your Uv light?
I use the inner corner of my forefinger nails often enough that the natural nail now bends downward, and it's the first place I get stress cracks. Getting it the right amount of thick is serious trial and error.
On both my hands the outer corner of both my index and center finger bend down like that. Those corners are the first to go if I don't fortify with some uv gel polish. Good thing I like having bright colourful, sparkly nails! Right now they're robins egg blue with a scattered holo topcoat (not Holo Taco brand, they don't do gels sadly).
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHERE YOU BOUGHT THAT BEAUTIFUL GLASS AND RHINESTONE HAND REST YOU HAVE IN ANOTHER VIDEO. I ASKED IN THE VIDEO IT WAS IN BUT GOT NO RESPONSE. PLEASE HELP!!!
Actually sweetie it’s basically the same way. File up any lifted discoloured area completely, prep and prime, and then just add your gel, it’s exactly the same way you’re just applying with different stuff
@NailCareerEducation I have had stress fractures several times with gel builder and repair them as you outlined here but often end up with the same fracture again in the new repair. Any suggestions on how to stop that? Would applying some sort of mesh or fabric underneath work better? If so, what should I use?
Because IF you want it removed for a new design getting white off, filing white or colours like black or green or red is to hard to get off. Yes you can soak takes too long - clear or nude protects so if you wanna change it out you file down to the clear layer and no one gets hurt
@@NailCareerEducation I knew it! It's sooo beautiful!! 😍 And actually affordable for a professional e-file! Would you recommend it for salon use? Like for 5 clients per day?
Lol it’s ok - doesn’t bother me. Those who don’t like it misunderstood something, I didn’t make it for them. I made this video for those that do like it ❤️
Gel polish is just an aesthetic there is absolutely no strength to gel polish whatsoever. So you can fix a stress crack by removing the gel polish and simply filing the cracks so it’s a little bit smooth and then reapplying your gel polish. It’s only covering it up it’s not making it stronger or fixing it by any means
I'm a little confused on why you would do this. The nail is quite grown out to where a rebalance would be needed soon anyways. Why not completely remove the enhancement and start new to ensure that it won't crack again? Just seems like it would set the nail up for failure..again 🤷
