I can make 5 kipping MU on a good day but to this day every time I stepped up to the bar , my first thought is:" I have to make it all the way up there?". It was never easy. My first MU was on november last year . I'm 65 now and don't know how long more I can do MU but you're my motivation. You made it like I do regular pull-up. Thank You.

Some very good tips right there Marcus! Once your Pull-Ups are as explosive as yours the Muscle-Up becomes nearly too easy, but it looks just so smooth and effortless when you do it. I can't wait until I can touch my Abs with the bar during a Pull-Up.

Ukuwoele Hi Uku! Keep cranking it nice and high - it's ok to kipp to get that height at first - and really focus on getting your elbows pointing as far back 'behind' your back as you can - and keep on 'pulling down' with your hands even as your chest goes above the bar...! You will bop it big time!

I love the way he goes about his training tips. This workout takes a SERIOUS amount of strength and training but instead of "Hey look at what only I can do" he's going at it like "Hey here's how you train to do something badass exactly like me"! very cool. That's the only way you gotta be with a workout like this because it'll humble ans discourage anyone reallllll quick haha

Hi Marcus, My name is Joann. Im 53 years old, and im from South Africa. I broke both my knees in an accident underground, in the mine i was working at. The surgeons worked on my knees 4 times already. After that i contracted a virus that nearly killed me. Eventually i prayed to God to take me to Him. But, God had other plans still. Only recently, i started having the desire again to lift myself out of the deep hole of weakness that i've fallen into. I used to be very fit, and looked good. That is not the case now. My husband has got all the gym equipment you can think of, but nothing inspired me, until i saw your video on rope climbing yesterday. I have been looking at many videos, and i really like your stuff. And i think that you are an awesome person. I'm going to get a rope ASAP. I will have to start from the ground, like you showed in your one video. But, i just wanted you to know that because of you, i have hope🙏🙏

This is a goddamn good tutorial of mastering muscle-up! Sounds simple and it is. It's just the matter of it. I followed those tips and after 3 weeks I did clean bar muscle-up. It came as a surprise, I wasn't expected it. Thanks Marcus !!!

omg thank you so much . I was not able to do even 5 clean muscle ups. Now with you tips I learned to rigth way to activate my muscles. I tested it outjust after the video and I did freaking 10 repetition of clean muscle. I just didnt knew how to activated well my muscle for the movement thank sir.

I just found ur channel and really like it! Also I think that you should try American ninja warrior, Sasuke, ninja warrior UK, or ninja warrior Sweden. You could beat stage2 and 4 for sure because they r upperbody and a rope climb. Also stage 3 is upperbody and grip so u should b able to do that with good grip and stage 1 is more lower body and agility so i hope you try one!

Also, to do "High" pull ups you have to swing a bit and pull in a question mark ? shape over the bar. Doing just vertical pull ups you can only go to your clavicle.

Mr Bondi, your tutorials are great! I've read about you online for years, and seen videos, you are truly an inspiring athlete! Regarding the muscle up, how do you compare this variation to a slow muscle up with a false grip? Do you find one absolutely harder than the other or do you think they are both worth practicing?

Elvin Purtov​ that shit is too hard for me right now. I've switched to something easier, the front lever. I'm like 90% there on that one, need to work on my hold time. It's an awesomely good exercise for working the entire back of the body. All the muscles activate to hold you up.

Tasso DO them whenever you are near a pull up bar -(every day if possible) and do them early in your training session so you are still fresh and have explosive power in you! But only do as many as you can with big power - so just 2 or 3 is fine to begin with... try 3 or 4 sets of those.... then go about your other workout - you will soon 'get the feel' of them - then you will progress quickly! One way of skipping the kipping muscle up or climb up is to use resistance bands. You'll be able to do strict muscle ups with perfect form from the beginning. This means no unlearning bad habits like kipping. Then you can progressively reduce the bands as you get stronger (I recommend being able to do 15 reps before reducing to a smaller band).

how long would it take one to do bar to navel pullups? I can only get to the bottom of my neck, making me feel like the strict muscle up is just too far out of reach for the likes of me. I am very impressed by your stength and found this tutorial pretty helpful

For the 2nd movement, the bar dips, did he mean do them on a lower bar ? Or on the pull up bar? Erm….if you can do them on the pull up bar then you’ve already done the muscle up - how is it a progression?

How do you transition from the top of the pull-up to getting your elbows above the bar? I can get pretty high on pullups but my elbows are still at my sides. You seem to get your elbows below you somehow.

How many should I be doing each day to work up to getting to my chest? I can do about 5/6 sets of 5 to my throat then my arms are too tired to do any proper ones after that....

nadador921 False grip training is also good to practice, but for max muscle and power and endurance for m-ups, go pronated grip with thumbs wrapped around the bar, brother!
